I clean those carbontex washers with brake parts cleaner or acetone. Then use a lil paint brush to put on the grease. Best grease seems to be the Innox one in a lil blue tube. Synthetic base. Superlube great as well. Some reels put the carbontex in dry for some reason. I always open them up and grease them. The Daiwa stacked ones i just leave as they are combination.

Inox mx6 grease is a cheap high heat alternative for drag washers. Been using it for years and it works great.
If you are having trouble with the screws put a little dab of grease on the tip of your screw driver
