I never pay for green waste. I own 70 acres of land, it all goes in compost piles and gets sold a year later. That one job you had could have saved you $500 in dump fees + the compost could have been sold for $25 per cubic yard. Buy land, make more money.
Yes, it is our plan, we could make LOTs more money when we have land.
@@SonomaStrong Look on Craigslist, people are usually looking for clean green waste to fill gullies. Contact all of them on Craigslist that are located in your area, that way you can dump green waste for free in a bunch of places to save gas money. It usually takes years to fill big gullies. Win, win. Put that $500 dump fee in your pocket.

How do I get my license and insurance for junk removal? And how much does it cost ? And do I have to have a truck and trailer before getting the paperwork?
Check with your city for what you need. Watch out how to start a business series for more info and you don’t need anything to get the paperwork done. We did everything before we started.
At what point do you think is a good time to think about bringing a full time employee on?
I would only do that when your phone is ringing so constantly that you are finding yourself needing a worker every day. Having someone on call for when you need them seems to work best for most.

@@johnprado7157 everybody's market is different. Everybody's dump fees are different. If you're in the junk removal business then im sure you already have a pricing sheet and have done research on what your competitors are charging. Usually $30-$50 per cubic yard depending on what's being hauled.

depends on where the job is located and what we have. in our area certain landfills take cerrtain things and do not take other thiongs. for example we can not take a couch to santa rosa and we can not take yard waste at another.

youre definitely in a wealthier area there are absolutely tons of people doing it around me and they do it for the low. AND they bring it to the dump. granted theyre still making better money than like working at mcdonalds but not 2k + a day like what u preaching out there
Yes we are in an affluent area.... your population and cost of living is definitely an important equation in this line of work. We always suggest that you try it out part time in your area to see how it goes.
