If JESUS thought that the woman would have been offended that He referred to her as a "dog", He would not have used the term. But there was a greater issue at stake here. JESUS went to this woman essentially to help her, but He had to teach the disciples with Him a lesson. They, their race, and their leaders, all thought of non-Jews as dogs, and did not think they should help nor associate with them. The disciples needed to be rid of this malady. They were initially happy that JESUS seemed to disregard this woman, and were even more happy that He called her a "dog". But when JESUS commended her for her great faith and granted her request, they were made to reflect on their own hardness of heart in respect to this woman and the people they hated. The heart of the precious Savior must have ached when He had to use the reference. But the woman saw in His face a look and demeanor that reflected what was truly in His heart of love and pity. The woman was granted her request, the disciples taught their lesson of benevolence, and the precious LORD JESUS had again accomplished His mission of service and love to humanity. Allelujah!! What a Savior!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isaiah 42:1 - 9 The LORD's Servant 42 1 "Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. 2 He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. 3 A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth. 4 He will not fail nor be discouraged, Till He has established justice in the earth; And the coastlands shall wait for His law." 5 Thus says God the Lord, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, And spirit to those who walk on it: 6 "I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles, 7 To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the prison, Those who sit in darkness from the prison house. 8 I am the Lord, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images. 9 Behold, the former things have come to pass, And new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them." Reed: The Shepherds Flute In biblical times, and in some cases today, shepherd boys would play a simple dual-piped flute made of reed. This they would do in the presence of their flock. The strains of the music would be pleasing to both the shepherd boy and his flock. No doubt David's introduction to musicianship began with such an instrument. Flax: wick of the lamp Lamps in biblical times were very similar to the paraffin lanterns that we see today, used by fisherman and campers. The lamp had a tube through which thin rope (wick) was passed so that it came into contact with the fuel (oil in this case). The other end of the wick was then lit. Now and again the end of the wick would stop emitting a flame and merely smolder, therefore not producing much light. In such a case, the end of the wick would be snuffed out completely, cut off and discarded and the new end would be ignited. What does this mean? Even as our worship is like a bruised reed, Christ will not break us. All true worship, no matter how c weak, towards the Father through Christ is acceptable. Even though our witness is dim, He will not cut us off. We are weak vessels but in us is stored God’s treasure. Each is given his alloted measure of gifting.
RC, First let me say Thank you for being a man of God. It is so rare in this 21 Century. I wanted to comment, when you were on a Panel, and the question, was something like, why was God's wrath so tough on Adam, and Eve, and I think your answer, was right on the mark. Could you please try to lead Joel Osteen to Christ? You are of , but of s few ministers who tell the truth, and I really appreciate it.
"Lead Joel Osteen to Christ"? You've never spent any time on Lakewood Church's website, obviously, because if you had you'd know that Joel is a Christian - He has faith in Jesus, teaches Jesus is God incarnate, born of a virgin, paid for our sins and ascended to Heaven. Nothing RC didn't teach. What makes you think Joel needs to be led to Christ? I agree we need to watch out for the wolves in sheep's clothing. But Joel is not one of them. Adrian Rogers used to say we need to distinguish the "weak" from the "wicked". Pope Francis is a wolf in sheep's clothing (wicked). Joel is, probably, more of a "weak" pastor, if at all, given he doesn't have the proper training. But for all the years that I have watched him, he's quite biblical in his preaching. He preaches more on Christian living, but if you go to his website and watch his Lakewood pastors, you will see they go deeper. Not as deep as RC and Ligonier go. But then, again, that's not Joel's calling. Joel goes wide. He fills the gap between ZERO knowledge of God and Sunday School. RC used to say he wanted to fill the gap between Sunday School and seminary. So Ligonier goes deep, rather than wide. BOTH do a great job for the Kingdom. And Joel tells his TV audience every single Sunday to "get into a good bible-based Church". Because of this, I found a local church. And through the local church I found Ligonier and RC. So you see, God knows what He's doing. Joel's father, John Osteen, was a Baptist pastor, and founder of Lakewood Church. I bet some of his critics are now in heaven apologizing to him for being so critical of him and his son. Let not that be you, sister. We're all brothers and sisters in Christ. Yes, let's identify the wicked and denounce them publicly (like Francis) and let's resolve doctrinal differences in private, helping the weak grow in their understanding.

I watch him every week, but I get my Theology daily from the Bible first, and Ligonier is the first place I go to when in doubt. We are constructing a school building for our kids, however; the project is challenging under the economic climate that whenare under here in Liberia.
It is Dr. Sproul or Pastor Sproul or Reverand or Something, even Mr. Why are people so quick to address men of God as if they are like Not the Shepards of our souls? Where is "give honor to whom you should give honor." He may not mind, but God may, and I sure do. While you are questioning a man who has studied the Word for over 50 yrs, can you AT LEAST call him Mr. Sproul? Please pray about this. Thanks.

I will pray about it but at the moment I feel that formality and titles are not as important as basic moral obedience and truth. I do not consider this man a legitimate minister of God so I will call him Mr. Sproul. I really cannot agree with his hard line Calvinism and so I cannot honor Mr Sproul with any higher title than mister, the same way in which both he and I would not call the Pope, Holy Father. The number one reason for lack of "antithesis" is fear of losing church members. Then church leadership has the decision to make on whether the temporal or the eternal is more important.
I'm not repeating myself as I've done these last years. Not one group nor individual have I been able to get thru.
Jesus loves you and died so you can have eternal life. Repent and turn to Him because He is coming soon! He loves you!
God bless , amen
even if some issue deserve a debate, there still need to be the right place and time for such a debate--so I think Dr Sproul did the right thing.
Missing Dr. R. C.
Amen.
The church is clear on what marriage (Man & Woman) is but is afraid to deny the antithesis. May God help us.
I am stymied that R C would teach this.
Why?
Why?
. Amen!. . .
I haven't seen anything in scripture that points to infant baptisms.
♥️
That is well put---DiDdo !!!!!!!
Would it not be advantageous to pray that we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit such as the word of wisdom or word o knowledge thus inpired by the Spirit of Christ in knowing how to r
DOG = DAUGHTER OF GOD, TRUTH! NOT AN INSULT YET A CONNECTION BETWEEN WOMAN N HER FATHER, GOD! I AM D O G FAITHFULLY! GOD BLESS LIFE!💪🌹🌞👑🌹👸🎁🌿🌊🌏💞
No. He called her a dog in Aramaic.... not spelled d o g. God doesn't need you to compassionatly explain away what he did. Stop doing that. The Bible doesn't say that. Don't twist scripture
Still stuck on self when your comment, comments say I'm, I am I, I I I . I is the middle word in sIn.
Humility. Like not arguing with a dead pastor, who assumed the best of you. When he lived. Doctrinal issues should not divide.
😔 Matthew 12:15-21 Living Bible
15 But he knew what they were planning and left the synagogue, with many following him. He healed all the sick among them, 16 but he cautioned them against spreading the news about his miracles. 17 This fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah concerning him:
18 “Look at my Servant.
See my Chosen One.
He is my Beloved, in whom my soul delights.
I will put my Spirit upon him,
And he will judge the nations.
19 He does not fight nor shout;
He does not raise his voice!
20 He does not crush the weak,
Or quench the smallest hope;
He will end all conflict with his final victory,
21 And his name shall be the hope
Of all the world.”[a]

Hard to listen, i am a fool and was a fool..
Good afternoon from Liberia, I am pastor Janga .K. Gizzie, the Lord Jesus put in my heart to gorgeous the name' Bruised Reed Ministries' and ask for financial assistance on behalf of our school here in Liberia ( Kakata World Bank Community ).
We are constructing a school building for our kids, however; the project is challenging under the economic climate that whenare under here in Liberia.
Pietists beware
Sproul, why you always supporting infant baptism ?
Thanks.
shellyslioneyes.
I appreciate your concern and comments.
I was just being a bit light hearted and jocular.
Peace and blessings to you.
Have you watched the Sproul/MacArthur debate on baptism? It is very good. I agree with Dr Sproul
thenowchurch Understand if Mr. Sprouls Calvinism is Biblical then it is not Mr. Sproul you're in disagreement with, but God.
You obviously know nothing about the teaching of Scripture,
