I'm a 76 year old Vietnam veteran. It is so refreshing to see todays young people singing the same music that we listened to. You ladies sound great. God bless
Wish I could like this comment a thousand times.
I'm the luckiest man alive for it seems in both Vietnam (1971) and Desert Storm (1990), for some reason this artilleryman and later medical man got sent to Germany and could only follow the news on Stars and Stripes. I can indeed agree with my 76 year old foxhole buddy that these ladies singing songs of that era were literally music to our ears and filled with many fond memories of those times. George...a snappy salute heading your way.
yea, the first time i heard this was sitting in a LZ Dottie bunker near Quang Ngai, thinking this would be a lot nicer if we had some girls to listen with!
Be it a bunker or a foxhole, amen to you, and I hope you remember your brothers and keep in touch. They too are you brothers, for life. There are no stronger bonds, IMHO.
Ditto on all points.
this was my wife's favorite song of all, she died 20 years ago today.
Terrance Wilhite 💜
I'm sorry to hear that brother. It must be both hard and beautiful to listen to? It's an emotional song. I cry almost everytime I listen to it but not for any reason that I know of.
⚡️🖤⚡️
Sorry man
So fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Enough has been said about the great vocals. Just want to say guitar player is absolutely nailing it
Took the comment right out of my mouth.
Beautiful guitar work.
Yea...she's on point
Same thought here!!
Perfection
It's like hearing the original guitar playing as far as I'm concerned.
Hi there dear listeners, Sophie here.
The first time I heard the song ‘Helplessly Hoping’, it was during my time in high school. My father gave me the song to put on my mp3 player so I could listen to it on my way to school. I don’t think I can remember ever being so enchanted by three voices singing together, moving around so intangible in a song structure I couldn’t grasp. It was something different, I didn’t understand it. I disappeared into a myth. This mixture of voices, merging into space. Unparalleled.
The music came to me and I followed. I've walked a few different paths since then, as we all do in our lives. And everyday I find it interesting how everyone’s life continues to unfold, and keeps moving. A miraculous and strange process. And though I find it interesting to analyse, there are certain things in life you cannot grasp. Like how I experienced this song.
In this world we now live in, I can hardly comprehend that I’m part of this innocent online cover we made of the song ‘Helplessly Hoping’ that has been watched over 2,7 million times now.. As I write this, my heart is beating fast and my body feels a little strange. It's bizarre to experience how the influence of Crosby, Stills and Nash through a cover of our music is so alive and touches people to the depths of their hearts. Though I’m not part of SYA anymore due to differences in our collaboration, it moves me that this video keeps on flowing.
My father messaged me with the news of David Crosby’s passing. Life is elusive, and connection is part of what drives us. I’m proud that I, Amanda and Yvonne are touching and inspiring people around the world through the magic of the creation of this powerful song. I’m thankful for this part in my life. 'Helplessly Hoping' has a place in my heart containing a memory of great grounded strength.
We can try to understand everything, search for answers. But there’s one thing I’ve learned from all of this, no matter how puzzling life may be, music speaks and answers itself.
Love,
Sophie
Wonderful message. Thank you for posting it as well as sharing your voice and love of music with us all.
Goosebumps..! From this wonderful song, from your beatiful voices singing together, from your message and memories. In my personal experience too, music was always an extraordinary time machine, that allowed me not just appreciating my memories (especially my father's ones), but as you said in a certain way, it allows us to moove forward and behind, puzzling our lifes, trying to give it a sense, and reshaping a lot of senses and lenses through which living them ❤️
Thanks for sharing all of this 🙏
Sorry to hear your paths diverged . . . This is a beautiful and worthy cover of this brilliant song . . . Thank you for this.
I wish there were a way I could give you, Amanda and Yvonne back some of the joy you’ve brought me with your music. Sending love and positivity your way.
@@mikefrank115 thank you!
Dear listeners,
Thank you so much for your kind words! We feel very honoured this version of this beautiful song is appreciated. It's really something special so many people have watched our video and that some of you took the time to write something nice about it.
We just recorded a live Cd in the studio with covers and songs of our own. When it's finished we'll post some more videos of what we've recorded.
Lots of love,
SYA
I can't believe my ears! What a GREAT cover on one of my favorite songs. I can't wait for the CD!
SYA Music I'M gonna check your stuff out. Your voices are so balanced. I liked your grounding, you seem so solid, like stoic.

SYA Music is simply beautiful love johnnie bowling
Beautiful version. I love playing this song myself, but your cover is something really special.
Tears and goose bumps. I turned 65 Wednesday. Grew up with real music.
I'M 74 YRS OLD, I still love this song and the song of the 60's and 70's , thank you , great job ladies,
what other songs do you like?
Never change, Bro!!!
Does anybody sing like this anymore? Incredible voicings
Foxes n Fossils does a great cover of this song.
Girl named Tom sings this song very beautifully!!!!!
It takes a lot of courage for a harmony group to cover a CSNY song -- those boys wrote the book on harmony. Well, you killed it. Best of luck. Go be awesome.
The Hollies wrote the book. But the 60s DooWop groups, like the Platters,Tams, and Coasters really set the patttern.
Well, there was always that group from Liverpool who did a bit of harmony as I recall.
And the boys from Hawthorne CA respected that and carried it forward
Totally agree.
@@MeneerHerculePoirot Love the Beatles, but their harmonies were nothing special.
Most days, I curse the UA-cam algorithm which dares to suggest what it thinks I might fancy, and then, suddenly, as if smiling on me, it gives me this.
Go look up Home Free version of this song, it’s amazing as well
Crosby, Nash and Stills would be proud to know you Beautiful Ladies. Your Harmony is beautiful.
I know this video is old, but I hope you 3 are still singing. That is absolutely remarkable!!! You are phenomenal!!! Thank you for such a wonderful rendition of this classic song.
Really not sure how 886 people disliked this????? Crazy ! 3 gorgeous woman singing a beautiful song perfectly. Well done ladies.
the world is full of sick demented dark-hearted spirits!!!
too much staring at the camera.. haha
886 people are " RAP CRAPPERS" you know GIGGER MUSIC !.
All ex ;)
@@michaelburton7870 because they don’t have your exact taste? Wow! You’re a kook.
Having three beautiful women staring at you while singing like angels is mildly disconcerting.
Seems all bunched up in one place.
Well stated...
I am glad someone said it as the first comment. Kinda stepford , a little spooky.
Beautiful music. But I finally came to realize the same thing. The lack of change of head angle, the constant stare with only occasional blinks....it is a bit disconcerting....otherworldly....sort of like the the Robert Palmer girls. But with unbelievably gifted vocal harmonies.
they're just trying to help you unrumple your foreskin
the way the blonde glides in and touches down on "for each other" lowers my blood pressure by about 20 points - thank you ladies for a bit of heaven on earth -
Ladies you put great big alligator tears in this old man's eyes.
👍👍 from an old man who grew up on this music
As a 63 year old lifetime CSN fan, this really moved me. Beautiful harmonies and lovely voices, well done. Please do more CSN. Southern Cross is one of their most beautiful songs, I'd like to see you give that a try.
Beautiful, girls. One of my absolute favorites of Crosby, Stills and Nash. I’m 65 and am so grateful I grew up in a time with some of the best music ever. Created and written by extraordinary artist.
As attractive as three lasses are, their harmony transcends the visual by light years. Well done ladies!
I can't listen to this too many times. This folks, is what talent sounds like. Real talent. Not auto tuned studio enhanced artificial pop music.
Agreed!
@@l.w.caruthers3715 Great.
You want to hear something weird? At the exact time that I got this notification of your comment regarding my comment from months ago, I was on Twitter and David Crosby retweeted one of my comments there. Yes, the same David Crosby who is famous for this song.
Boy isn't that the truth. Thumbs up and write on
The best cover of that song I've heard since the original came out.
Watch foxes & fosil
This is nice, very well done but Foxes and Fossils version is the best ever!
100% agree. I know it's my favorite version when I can close my eyes and enjoy it just as much.
@@toolman30249 By far!
Foxes & Fossils cover is pretty good also
It's very rare for me to get chills from a cover version but this... this really got me. Simply sublime. Sooo well done!
I echo your sentiments completely!
I get cold chills when I hear things that are shrill.
OK....I am not sure how I amgoing to respond to this, but here goes. I turned 67 today and when CSNY first , I mean very first, sang that song, it choked me up so much. It was what we called "Message Music" back then. It had a meaning and it wasn't right out front for everyone, you had to relate to it, you had to feel it. Fast forward to today and they are using "our" special songs for freaking T.V. Commercials. I hoped beyond hope that no one would ever mess with this song. And then came you guys. I listened open-heartedly and with an open mind. At first I just thought that you were three very talented, beautiful women who could sing and play, doing a good cover on this song. Then I played it again. And watched. Really watched. And really listened. And it all came back. You meant what you were singing and you moved me. Just like the first time. Thanks.
There IS perfection in this world. I watch these three in pitch perfect harmony, totally bewildered they can sound and appear equally, and so utterly beautiful.
I recall hearing Crosby, Stills, and Nash singing this tender song Helpless Hoping back in 1975. Suddenly Years Align covers this classic in stunning fashion with their melodic female voices.
I was your age now Ladies when this song came out and it moved me like no other folk song did at that time... that was absolutely beautiful Amanda, Yvonne and Sophie and brought back some sweet memories.... Thank you
Three beautiful women, three beautiful voices, one legendary song. It doesn't get any better. Brava ladies.
Totally agree
I'm a Crosby, Stills & Nash big fan from a long time ago. But I have to say these lady's are carry this song in a graceful sound; very unique. 🌿
@@codijo-myalaskandog122 Yep, I'm a huge fan of CSNY, too. So I was afraid that these ladies might mangle it, and since it's an old favorite of mine I was a bit solicitous, but actually they sounded very good, and they had some really nice harmonies. Nice. 👏👍
For years my brother thought the line including "harlequin hovers" was actually "hard lickin' lover". When his wife heard him sing it she had to pull the car over she was laughing so hard.
this got a lol out of me too. enough to post a youtube comment
I always thought it was harlequin lovers - reading your post I now know the correct lyrics!
@@mms5117 I also thought it was harlequin lovers but Jam Who straightened me out...
Made me howl with laughter as well. Thanks for that bro! 🤣🤣
shouldn't everyone have a "hard lickin' lover" ...? 🤣
I love this cover. As a 21 year old that was raised on the music of the 60s and 70s this song fills my soul with warmth. God bless and stay safe everyone. Forward.
How many times am I allowed to like this? God bless you ladies. 🙂
What I didn't notice until I watched it again is the great guitar work. I was so mesmerized by the vocal I just missed it. You ladies are outstanding!!
This is really pure beauty from these three natural women- singing like angels and touching my heart very deep!
Thank you so much ! 😘🇩🇪
Great vocals, and great looks!!! Very attractive! Keep going ladies.
CSNY songs are among the hardest ever to sing. These ladies actually pulled it off.
WOW ! Three Gorgeous Angelic Beauties, that sing like words can’t describe, listening to you three gives me goosebumps up my spine, thank you.
I want these young ladies singing for me as I enter Heaven....
@Rich Woods I'm sure you will
You are already there if you listened to this man
Oh my Lord! I had one cocktail too many last night and sent this clip to some of my foxhole buddies of the early 1970's and said I wish they'd sing at my funeral. When you get to a certain age, it brings tears to my eyes.
HOLY SH!TT! I just inadvertently came upon this, WOW!! What gorgeous sound these 3 make together!! WOW!!
OMG, the brunette to the left. I can’t keep my eyes off her. She’s gorgeous!
All 3 are gorgeous!
Another old guitar picker (77) who appreciates your vocal mastery of a difficult piece. Very nice guitar work, too! You're still young and distractions will come, but don't give up the music.
These young ladies pulled off a feat that many have tried but not many succeeded in. Kudos 👍💖
Lovely.......every morning...l climb on my roof...wactu the Himalayans..out here in Easr Nepal....l play this 3 ladies...and l look up the sky...and said out loud in silence...T H A N K YOU
For me this is the best version of this jewel of songwriting
This may be the most wholesome thing I’ve ever seen
First published by Crosby, Stills & Nash in May 1969, fifty years ago. The years do suddenly align, thanks to these beautiful Dutch women.
Wow. I had no idea Marisa Tomei, Natalie Portman, and Lisa Kudrow were in a band together!!!
I thought the EXACT same thing about the ladies looking like Natalie Portman and Marisa Tomei
HANDS DOWNS! This is truly the best cover of this iconic classic song EVER!
Very brave to cover a song with some of the best harmony in music history. You have impressed my ears. Please do more!
Humans Are really Amazing.. Thank you Lord for these moments that remind me.... This is What it takes
A lovely cover of a classic song.
Great cover, lovely voices that compliment each other along with beautiful guitar picking!
Outstanding tribute to this CSN classic. Beautiful voices, Beautiful ladies, and Beautiful performance ! Well done.
Three beautiful women, three beautiful voices.
In 1971, aged 16, I bought in Lisbon (I'm Portuguese) the album CS&N and "Helplessy Hoping" touched me since then. This young ladies, sing it with such harmony of voices, so gently and correctly that moved me. Nowadays, with 67, it's hopeful to see classic songs so well performed, by new generations.
These ladies floored me.Hopelessly speechless. In Dallas Texas.
Over the decades, I’ve heard a lot of versions of this beautiful song but I’ve never heard one that comes close to equaling the quality you three have brought to it! Thank you for sharing it with the world!
Brett Bryant - This was really nice. If you haven’t already heard it, I strongly recommend the version by Home Free. It’s acapella so it’s basically nonstop harmonies.
Helemaal mee eens!
Search for Foxes and Fossils
Agree with Greg - Foxes and Fossils does it better than anyone - hands down!
Brett Bryant Check our The Foxes & Fossils version !!!
I always enjoy that little smile musicians on film get when they realize they nailed it. Thank you.
SYA ❤ voices of angels. Such wonderful pure blending of harmony.
I always loved this song. An now... Wow!!!
Beautiful Song... Beautiful Voices... Beautiful Ladies... What more can you ask for?
Phone numbers?
Oh the harmony......gave me cold chills in a good way. Love to you all in oneness 🙏🏻💞🕊
I am 78 grew up singing harmony from young, choirs mixed and male quartets. Have never heard a more pure harmony. God bless!!
What I thought when I first heard this song for the first time in 1969 was that it was timeless. Thank you for proving my point.
Best cover of Helplessly Hoping I have heard. I am 64. I am glad to hear, and see young people keeping the music alive. More please.
I agree it is very beautiful and well done, but if you've never heard Foxes and Fossil's cover of it, you need to. I think that's my favorite. It's a dad and his 2 daughters. And their band
@@briangoertzen5467 Agree with the F&F cover but do yourself a favor and check out Home Free's cover.
Foxes & Fossils for ALL Their Songs!!!
My self-quarantine looking at these three gorgeous ladies God Bless America -cheers from Oklahoma

The girl playing guitar is one outstanding natural beauty.... Wow.
They are all beautiful and talented though...
Just one? They all are! And amazing gifted singers and performers!
WOW! Close your eyes and the Angels are singing. Outstanding job ladies. Outstanding.
I'm a 67 year old lifelong music junkie, CSNY one of all time favs, great job ladies, just wonderful!
Wow! Just Wow!!! Love the harmonies ladies. Sweet as…. Looking forward to the next tune.
Absolutely breathtaking performance.
Thnx for putting a big smile on my face this morning. Soo glad young people continue to discover the beauty of our 60's and 70's music! From" your Grandma"😍🎶❤️🌻
The harmonies, rhythm, and cadence are spot on. Well done ladies.
Beautiful women singing a beautiful song about impossible love and longing. What could be more beautiful?
As an old man who listened to Crosby Stills & Nash when they first played on the radio let me say that these young ladies are pleasant to hear and to see.
Good job.
Now that's 3 real voices and a great rhythm hand on guitar
Great tribute to csn, great job
Harony at its best, I am also 76 and lived the Vietnam years right out of Military College, so many of my friends died there and were left there.
I love the way you all look at each other at the end, beautiful, absolutely the best cover I’ve heard
"No matter what happens, you keep finding something to fight for'
What a legend.
The harmonies are Angel like, and a song which has so many intricacies to be done properly, is mastered by you three. Amazingly beautiful.
Always forever a mystic love song!! For each other is about c/s/n
Three beautiful ladies', One voice . Mesmerising!!!!!
Yes, suddenly the years do align when sung so accurately.
That look by the girl in the middle at the end is the look you get when you know you have nailed it.
Amazing. GORGEOUS!
Beautiful rendition of a CSN classic. Yet, as I listen to it, I can’t help but remember the context and the time when this song was released. I was a young man then full of hope and dream about the future. I wonder about today’s youth…what are they clinging to? To me, they’re hopeless…I truly wish to be wrong. 😢
Covering a complex harmony like this CSN song is no easy thing to do. These young ladies did an admirable job. Congrats to them.
Covering a memory of love
Wow, that was amazing! One of the greatest harmony arrangements in rock'n'roll, and you three crushed it!
This one video is enough reason for being alive and getting out of bed in the morning. FANTASTIC. From your newest fan.
So wonderful to see young people singing Crosby, Stills & Nash songs Loved it
Just stopped by because of C,S and N. You ladies made this old guy tear up a bit with that rendition of a song I have loved forever. Going to check out your other stuff now.
Thank you. You ladies are greatness.
Beautifully sung .
yes Al Law, agree. as I listened was pondering why this CSN song hasn't been covered more...thinking that its the harmonies that most others can't come close to sounding like original, the harmonies aren't difficult but not easy at all, for male and or female singers. my first listen here of these singers, very much pleased here so following for more.
My first impression was Crosby, Stills and Nash...!!!!!!
Stumbled across this by accident … I’m a massive CSN fan….. wow..the best cover of HH I’ve seen and by some margin….love it! Well done ladies .. absolutely stunning
This music will last for generations to come.
WOW!!!!! IM REALLY IMPRESSED WITH THIS RENDITION OF HELPLESSLY HOPING BY CROSBY STILLS AND NASH. THEY WOULD BE PROUD OF THIS.
I don't know who these people are, but whoever they are, they are absolutely, positively without a doubt, terrific. They nailed it. No question. No doubt. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for doing this cover.
I'm 74. Your beautiful harmonic voices bring back great memories. Thank you. I would love to hear your version of Suite: Judy Blue Eyes. Also Seven Bridges Road by the Eagles.
Stunning Beauty, angelic voices, Wow !!! Thank You Ladies, Magnificent !!!
As a lifelong musician, I can appreciate what you have invested in this excellent performance. This song is one of my favorites. I do it with my daughters. I have experienced this song as a spontaneous eruption amoung twenty musicians singing it on a warm Thanksgiving Sunday morning while camping and celebrating life in a West Virginia hollow. It resides in my heart. Thank you for your beautiful rendition and diligent effort in producing it.
Glenn Jones one of my favorite songs of all time also. I just played it for my girlfriend on Saturday night. LOL. Also played Guinevere for her. I also love that song very much. They were certainly a unique talent collectively.
Obrigada por gostarem de boa música que bom saber que existe mais pessoas que gostam de misicas de qualidade
