The Cadillac Escalade-V is a ridiculous machine, a luxurious behemoth of an SUV that also defies the laws of physics. With a 6.2L supercharged V8 making nearly 700 horsepower, launch control and an exhaust that would embarrass a Camaro ZL1, the V is the most epic of SUVs. I spent some time with the new Escalade-V earlier this year and posted a full review, but this week we got to live with one for a whole week! Enjoy this vlog!

That gas mileage is actually pretty impressive! For something at that much HP, 12-15 mpg is great!
Bro you're absolutely correct. I have a 2021 Escalade Platinum that we bought brand new in 021 and I get 12-15 mpg and I'm happy with that. I just put a deposit on a 2023 V Escalade (as tested red exterior/black interior ) and I will be happy if I get the same mpg as Eddie X received on his test drives even though it's a 682HP beast........ Looking forward to the V...... slow delivery but hope I get it by the Fall

Better fuel economy than my 07 Suburban. I averaged 11 mpg city and 16 highway with a 5.3L

I'm about to trade in an Escalade Premium that I had since new for the past 3 years. I love the quality that went into the vehicle. The retractable side steps, sound damping material between the cabin and frame, solid dash that never squeakes, dual pane glass for outdoor noise reduction, excellent pickup, exterior ground and door handle lighting and much more. Nice channel by the way. Have a great year!

@@ventura80503 I have kids so I really like the room. I wouldn't mind getting another but there is a very limited supply with a one year wait and I don't like how high the price is getting. This economy has made my financial situation a little harder so I may choose a Tahoe. It looks the same without the premium Cadillac details.

I think I saw one of these on Car Wow. Very nice, it was compared to the other high horse gas engine SUV's. I don't think it was the fastest, but it was not the slowest. I think it is one of the heaviest. Some might think that sounds bad but all the suv's it was compared against were basically the best offered for the brands. Nice work Caddy!
Cars don't impress me too much but I drove a 2019 escalade for a week and liked it. I like how big and comfy and safe it felt. Thanks for sharing yours with us!

Excellent excellent video! Really appreciate the insights. I’m definitely all over this one once I graduate. Mine will be a Black on Black V-ESV with the Super Cruise driving system, Night Vision and Fridge/Freezer as well as the auto up rear windows (didn’t know that was an option until you said it). I also need a bench on the 2nd row to be able to fit the family of 8.
On raising the rear seats - push the to of the button where you pushed it down to lower them.

Only $91 for an Escalade on "E" with 93 octane is a super deal. That is great relatively speaking, just not 3x's a week lol
it all depends on gas prices. I have an 18 and usually fill up with 22 gallons @ $4.39 premium for around that price and last about a week lol since i don't drive much. it really drinks up the fuel when i leave it on sports mode. it sounds better but more fuel.

Having owned Magnuson (supercharger) equipped Tahoes and Suburbans in the past, it's an interesting option but for $150k...pricey. Our three toddlers always choose the TRX for daily drop off/pick-up, cold starts begin their happy day!

Ugh I didn’t know I needed this. That sound is glorious. Agree about the lighting on the running boards. We had a new Top trim Tahoe on our lot and I couldn’t tell if those lights were aftermarket or not.
For me, I need a ZR2 (GM's answer to the Ford Raptor). I'd love to mod the engine with aftermarket chips to push it to 500 hp. The base ZR2 V8 is 420hp, which is decent enough for most customers.

Um, their ZR2 is meant to compete with the TRX. It has an optional 420 hp 6.2 liter V8. It isn't necessarily a "small" engine, LOL...

You are a former gm customer I assume. Yea, today's vehicles have problems designed into them. Each model face-lift, some other set of problems come up. And gm never fixes it from year 2 year. It's fixed with a new designed model

I think it needs a bigger gas tank. The low fuel light was on, and it only took 20 gallons. The range after filling up was only 313 miles.
I don't think the gas tank is the issue. It's the insane weight of the vehicle. All those power seats in the back are HEAVY. This monster weighs 6,200 lbs!! My VW GTI weighs only 3,000!! Yikes.

Rented a 600 last summer for Yellowstone trip and it was amazing, and ended up getting 19.9 mpg for the whole trip.

Definetley a vehicle I'd lease, wouldn't take the risk in buying it and then having it depricate heavily in just 2 years. I'm glad Cadillac made the choice to make a crazy car like this like Dodge in a world of EVs and strict regulations.

I like this car a lot but a part of me always gravitates towards the Yukon Denali, both are amazing!
As a escalade V owner, It is worth every bit. I had to choose either this or a urus. I had to go with this because size, sound, and the fact of how cool this is. I still do consider urus, one of the nicest cars on the planet but V is something else. Uncomparable is the word.

These things sound amazing.. can’t say I see any reason I would want to trade my Durango Hellcat for it but I think it’s going to find plenty of people who are going to absolutely love it for exactly what it is.

Torque converters lock when at highway / cruising speeds, not during aggressive driving. They lockup to prevent excessive slipping and heat.
