I was disappointed in the beginning when I realized it wasn't a full video walkthrough of the retrofit, but was pleasantly surprised with your voiceover part. You answered a few of my questions that I haven't been able to figure out myself researching.. There's not a whole lot of info out there specifically for 8th gen's that are explained well for lighting idiots such as myself. I see this video is like 3 years old but hopefully you'll see this and be able to offer some advice... How exactly did you attach the projector to the stock housing? Does it come with some sort of bolt-on bracket? Did you have to JB-weld it in place after eyeballing the vertical & horizontal leveling? After running this setup for a few years are you happy with the performance? Would you have changed anything if you had to do it again? Thanks
Hey Sam! You should heat headlights at around 270 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes. Always place your headlights on two pieces of wood and never directly on the grills. Another tip for baking headlights, do not pre-heat the oven. Put the part in and then turn the oven on letting everything come up to temperature at the same time. To put the headlights back together you need a Butyl. Also called RetroRubber. You can find it in Black or Grey on many retailers websites.
Hi Tucker, great video. I recently ordered the same HID kit(with morimoto H1 retrofit headlights) you have and it came in today, there is an H1 plug near the HID bulb and I was wondering where that plugs in to(male end) because I don't see a spot or did you just leave it hanging not connected to anything?
If i remember right, i cut that part off and used some female to female butt connectors to reconnect the bulbs. Its been a while since I did it. If you want you can send me pictures. I will give you my email or phone number if you private message me
No need to make a bracket for the projector. All you need to do is sand down the back to get enough of the projector shaft to thread on the lock ring and install the hid bulb. As for leveling the projector, get the car on level ground or mark where the stock headlight pattern was and install the full headlight with the projector installed and the hid installed without the headlight lens. This way you can rotate the projector and get it aligned. Then remove the headlight and re-install the lens
love the headlights. I wanted them on mine, but after seeing all the painting and tech you had to do I just to get all function well kinda put me off though. kudos looks spectacular, but looking for nice headlights for mine that doesn't take all that work.
+Des7ruc7iv3 It does impact the high beams slightly. It gives them a yellow tint when they're on and it isn't at bright as stock. But the Bi-Xenon projector makes up for it.
What size shroud u recommend? I ordered some called G37r from TRS and it seems to be way toooo big. Did the one you have fit nicely? I have a 2013 Civic EX-L, same headlights as you have if I'm not mistaken.
I have narrowed it down to two shrouds that I want, both seem to fit. One is your regular chrome finish, and the one is the one you installed, the clear one. Will it matter which one I choose if I am going to spray paint them anyway? is chrome better or worse to spray paint than clear plastic?
The only reason I got the smoked plastic was because you could install the halo behind the shroud so its not as noticeable. I don't like the look of the halo mounted on front of the shroud. If you're going to paint the shroud i would go with the Chrome gatling gun shroud. The paint should stick to them equally as good as long as you prep the surface properly.
Friend a curiosity you know how much is the circumference of the slow of the original projectors of the Civic 2013? I'm looking to buy the areolas Angel eyes but I'm doubtful in size.
The 2013 civic didnt come with original projectors, they were a reflector housing with a halogen bulb. You would have to buy a projector kit and check the diameter of the projector shroud that you choose and buy halos that size
I'm not sure if the prime is better or not, I just did it to sleep better at night haha. If you clean it properly and use a quality paint i think it will stick fine with ample coats
Tucker Putz I did man. After two days of work. I would like to send you some pics of my final work. And being honest it was a pain in the butt wiring. Thanks a lot for the video.
Hey man. I was wondering with the blinker lights, is there a difference between the switchback blinker light and just a straight led blinker light? I have the 2013 honda civic and I installed some led blinker lights, and for whatever reason they don't blink when i have my running lights on, but when my lights are off then they do blink? Don't wanna purchase them if its not gonna make a difference?
Yes theres a difference between led switchbacks and just led bulbs. LED switchback have a certain amount of amber leds and certain amount of white leds. Such as a 60 SMD LED Switchback bulb will have 30 amber and 30 white leds. When wired correctly they will blink orange when the blinker or hazards are activated and stay white when the parking light is on. The ones you have may be defective, they may need a resistor wired in, or try rotating the bulb 180 degrees and see if that fixes it
Yeah I see what your saying. I just think they use so much power that the relay is all out of sync when I have the running lights on and then try and use the blinkers. Thank you for the insight. I'll definitely be getting a pair of the switchbacks! Great videos btw. Keep it up.
Actually leds use way less power compared to traditional halogen bulbs. Thats why when you use leds you need resistors to make them run properly, otherwise the car freaks out and thinks the bulbs are out because they arent pulling as much power as the halogen bulbs
The Hid kit that i purchased came so that it connects to the 9005/9006 connector. Just make sure you get a kid that has a relay harness or a harness that can connect to the 9005/9006.
Nope, I added some more butyl sealant when I closed them back up and didn't have any issues. Also make sure you get the dust caps for the back to make sure its completely closed.
I did the full install but left the headlight lens off. Then you put the car on level ground and adjust the beam accordingly, then remove the headlight and reinstall the lens
+Drake46641 I mounted them inside of the shroud. The wiring harness is super easy, just connect it to the battery and ground it and thats pretty much it.
+Drake46641 The wiring was super easy. Everything was all plug and play and made it super simple for me, the hardest part was just tucking the wires in and zip tying them, also i had to mount the ballast, but that wasn't hard either. None of thats hard, just time consuming
This is like the only video that has exactly what i'm looking for. I'm planning on doing a retrofit on my 2010 civic.
Aye man I'm about 5 years late to the upload but still super helpful. Thanks for the upload!
Love the civic 🤙 the white is clean

You explain things really well :O this video will come handy when I retrofit my lights.
+MrChris2Fur Glad I could help!
Perfect!
Looks awesome! Question.
For how long do you have to heat the headlights?
And what did you use to put it back together! What kind of glue?
Hey Sam! You should heat headlights at around 270 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes. Always place your headlights on two pieces of wood and never directly on the grills. Wow thanks for the video.what do u think about hid kit?morimoto better or xenon depot?
How did you open the headlights? Did you use a heat gun or oven?
How did you get your shrouds to mount to the projectors? I’m doing this to my 9g Si and I’m just trying to get all of the info I can.

good shit man. any tips for making the braket to mount the projectors and making sure their leveled before jb welding/screw in place?

You prepared the chrome on the high beam before painting? If sprayed directly on the chrome... Wouldn't it have been more reflective?
Yes i prepared it only to make the paint stick better. But I sprayed it so thick it wouldn't have mattered if the chrome was still underneath
love the headlights. I wanted them on mine, but after seeing all the painting and tech you had to do I just to get all function well kinda put me off though. kudos looks spectacular, but looking for nice headlights for mine that doesn't take all that work.
+MrSmexy702 Ya it was quite a bit of work. I wasn't difficult, just time consuming. But thanks man!
you got another like on this video my friend! i wanna put those on my 2012 si :)
I recommend building your own, it's a fun project!
:)
Hey, I had a question in regards to the yellow painted reflectors on your car. How does that impact the highbeams
+Des7ruc7iv3 It does impact the high beams slightly. It gives them a yellow tint when they're on and it isn't at bright as stock. But the Bi-Xenon projector makes up for it.

Great job man. Question, do you think the prime will help to hold the paint better? Or it will be the same if I paint them twice? Thank you .
Could you help me out installing the wires, please?
I'm not sure if the prime is better or not, I just did it to sleep better at night haha. If you clean it properly and use a quality paint i think it will stick fine with ample coats
What would you like to know about the wiring?
Tucker Putz I did man. After two days of work. I would like to send you some pics of my final work. And being honest it was a pain in the butt wiring. Thanks a lot for the video.
Can you do the video how to take out and open the headlight so we can do the custom job on it?
+Duy Ha I will next time i do a retrofit
Can i send mine to you to do exactly like this but with the better and brighter demons? Make it plug and play and i can pay you for it? (07 si coupe)
Hey man. I was wondering with the blinker lights, is there a difference between the switchback blinker light and just a straight led blinker light? I have a question that how can you connect the h11 the stock connector to the h1 hid kit of the projector ? Any parts that needed to do it?
The Hid kit that i purchased came so that it connects to the 9005/9006 connector. Just make sure you get a kid that has a relay harness or a harness that can connect to the 9005/9006.
What kinda paint did you use ..
have any issues with condensation after doing the headlights?
Nope, I added some more butyl sealant when I closed them back up and didn't have any issues. Also make sure you get the dust caps for the back to make sure its completely closed.
How bad would it be if I painted my turn signal housing black?
It would diminish some of the lighting because it wouldn't be reflecting off of the chrome housing, but it would still be visible.
Also does this keep you from passing inspection for a sticker. I'm in Massachusetts
And did the splitter single end go into the low or high beam
How did you Align the projectors beam ? ?
I did the full install but left the headlight lens off. Then you put the car on level ground and adjust the beam accordingly, then remove the headlight and reinstall the lens
hi how do you install the splitters you bought for this car?
They just plug directly into the high beam stock plug and then they split from 1 to 2
did you have to remove the bumper for install?
Yes you do
Did you get the h11 splitter or 9006?
9006/9005 splitter
ask, do not you sell the lights already made?
No I don't, but i can make them for people locally
Reaper 3v can you make them as you say?
will these mods work on a 2012 honda cvic lx sedan?
+Ryan Reynolds They should.
I want to know if they spend a lot of gasoline THESE Civic Si FB6
No
+Kimberly Torres They get 25 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.
That's is nice car
Thanks man
What do it cost u
I want this headlights so bad 😫😢
+Wiley 93 Do a retrofit and you can haha
hey man i need some help on wiring if you can help ! thanks
+Drake46641 What do you need?
+Tucker Putz hey thanks did you wire your angel eyes inside the shroud or on the outside of the shroud? also how difficult is the harness wiring?
+Drake46641 I mounted them inside of the shroud. The wiring harness is super easy, just connect it to the battery and ground it and thats pretty much it.
+Tucker Putz thanks man! was it difficult to connect and hide the wires?
+Drake46641 The wiring was super easy. Everything was all plug and play and made it super simple for me, the hardest part was just tucking the wires in and zip tying them, also i had to mount the ballast, but that wasn't hard either. None of thats hard, just time consuming
My back bumper needs a painting
