@@igorjee Jaszes along with their delegation even visited Ossetia a few times,nice people with interesting mix of cultures.Hail to Hungary!
As Russian I don't understand anything in Ossetian
yes, more similarity with Pashto, Yaghnobi, Pamir languages
Ossythians existed thousands of years before Russian and ukrainian Aryan speakers, ossythians speak much closer to the original Aryan language like iranic people.
Also English speakers don't understand the attributes of the world they use, like mother: in Persian madar: ma: us/ dar: door or us coming out of.
Balcony= Persian balakon=bala=up / kon= house= house that's up like balcony of apartments or the Balkan region of Europe..
Paradise=Persian pardis/ ferdoos in arabic but Persian orgin.
Devil= dev Persian orgin.
God= persian khoda= khod=self which have spiritual meaning of spirit in us coming from god.
There are many many iranic and English similar Word's that's iranic people would understand it attributes and meaning and English speakers wouldn't.

Can someone please explain why Ossetian sounds so distinct? Is it because they were Christians and, thus, stayed out of Persian-Muslim cultural sphere which was the dominant socio-cultural paradigm in most of the Western and Central Asia? Thanks in advance!
Being part of Russia/USSR means they speak with a Russian accent maybe.
Pashto also sounds distinct. That is due to influence from its indic neighbors. I imagine the same happened to Ossetian. The influence of its neighbors languages affected it in certain ways. Religion doesn't affect phonology though.
Toparlayacaksak
S=H
P=F
D=L
Proto iranca : Dasa (on/10) sayısı
Just different cultures around through the whole history,from Goths to Caucasians and others

Pashto is an iranic language, with an iranian grammer flex, vocabulary and origin. stop with your lies and media propaganda. Pashto is the largest language in Afghanistan. Persian is the largest SECOND-ethno-lingual language in Afghanistan. Everyone can speak Persian in afghanistan as it is a lingua franca (afghan-international language). Pashto is STILL however and will ALWAYS be the largest language in Afghanistan. it is an IRANIAN language.

Very fascinating. The Balochi that was in the video must’ve been a Pakistani Baloch. You can hear the Indo-Aryan influence in her pronounciation if I’m not mistaken.
@ꫝarry K Of course they do because they all belong to the Indo-Iranian branch. Hindi-Urdu of course being Indo-Aryan. Balochi and Pashto being both Eastern-Iranic languages that all go back to a Proto-Indo-Iranian language.
@ꫝarry K I believe Nuristani and Dardic languages are both isolates in the Indo-Iranian branch. They don’t seem to be connected to Indo-Aryan languages at all if I’m not mistaken. They do have Indo-Aryan influences seeing that they’re surrounded by Indo-Aryan languages like Hindko and Urdu-Hindi etc.
@ꫝarry K Pashto has nothing to do with hindi punjabi urdu or anything dardic at all. The words they share are persian loan words that india got during mughal rule.

Part of it is because they used the eastern/northern accent, which is not the original Pashto accent! The western accent (spoken in places like Kandahar) sound much more similar to the other Iranian languages. I think Eastern Pashto came from slang, to be honest. Too lazy to pronounce "sh" and "zh." I really don't like the accent. Super confusing to understand, too, because they removed two distinct sounds.
