Oh my god I just got done watching Angels of Death last night and it gave me the chills and am I that only who thinks that Rachel is still alive but hiding away with Zack even though it shows in the last episode the blood on the windows still but to be fair Zack was the only one standing up on the window still and he left Rachel up so Rachel did not touch the glass that was still on the window still I have some theories about the anime angels of death, 1)is that both Rachel and Zack died 2)is that Rachel was finally killed by Zack 3)is that both Rachel and Zack are alive and just hiding away together But I feel like 1 and 3 one of them is the right one guess I'll never know.
The third novel definitely confirms they escaped together. The last segment is a police report detailing Zack's escape from prison, their theory on why Ray blocked the door to her room, and that the police are still looking for clues in their search for them.
