Over 6 years later and we might finally be getting a version of this for Tears of the Kingdom tomorrow (or maybe it's already out and you've come here afterwards?), fun times ahead!
I think this is still the better trailer but man was the new one awesome! I'm so glad they were able to reach these heights again. Keep going like this and I'm going to be more excited about Zelda trailer releases than the actual games.
I agree, I got goosebumps when I saw it on Twitch. I wanted to watch the trailer again and the first one was the english version. Most of it was ok, but when it got to the crying part I was like, wtf?
Dragons true. I just bashed the disgusting dub they did for the English version. This game better offer the original Japanese voices. I can't stand the amateurish English ones
+Irving Malcolm Cáceres The English voices, in my opinion, are pretty good. Possibly even better than the Japanese dub. Although they need to improve their acting.
Saw someone in another video say that the English Zelda's cry was disappointing compared to the Japanese version, so I came to see the difference.. I genuinely started crying the second she started talking.
First time I saw this I literally cried a bit and was covered in goosebumps. Over 4 years later and it still gives me some chills. it‘s those trailers / games like this or xenoblade chronicles where I wish I could erase memory and relive it
Dude the first time I saw this I went crazy with excitement and showed all of my friends lol. I still come back to watch it periodically because it’s so good.
The fact that I can keep coming back to this trailer four years after this masterpiece of a game released and still feel just as hyped as the day it was announced says a lot about this trailer. I'm getting nonstop chills left and right for this timeless masterpiece.
Only to put out a game with a world that is although fun to traverse, is still absolutely empty. This trailer promised so much that it never delivered.
Well this is just the trailer, an epic one and the most memorable for sure. But the game was not even a close competitor for other games in the same category. BoTW was just in diapers trying to replicate what other games did a few years ago after its release. And for me that just make it any other generic game, I consider it a good game, but not a Zelda game, the ones that I remember, most of times change the entire game franchise.
This is without a shadow of a doubt, the best trailer ever made for anything ever. The sheer amount of emotions they invoke with this trailer cannot be understated enough. The absolute awe and wonder that the beautiful environments create, the stunning cell shading giving us such incredible graphics, and most importantly that godly soundtrack in the background.
This isn’t my favorite game. This isn’t even my favorite Zelda game. But every now and then I feel like watching this and end up watching it 3 or four times
It’s when the intense music and visuals kick in that my eyes start tearing up because it’s so FUCKING COOL! But it’s when Zelda starts crying that I start bawling and I can feel my heart physically being crushed.
I came here after the inside xbox presentation. I was thinking "It's just me or they show us only aaa shooters?". I know there was more than shooters in the presentation, but I feel like all the other stuff apart from fps where kind of aa games, not big developments. This is why I'm here, I want to remember how a good trailer looks like.
Why they felt the need to ignore the intensity and the excellent acting of Zeldas' cry during the english translation and replace it with an lame act of a mexican telenovela cry? I literally looked the original japanese version to listen to Zeldas cry since it really have the feels, there is zero efort to replicate it in the english version.
King Nate realistically is the word you were looking for, every other dub looked for a similar approach to the cry. So it's not really a japanese cry, but the right one among the other languages dub.
it's not even just zelda crying, the old people's voices in the eng version sound like they had younger actors trying pass as elderly, maybe i'm wrong but in this version they sound way more convincing
pitfallseed no, Zelda is still in the castle. The scene where Calamity Ganon shows up you can see a light in the castle. That's Zelda, keeping the monster at bay and preventing him from destroying the remainder of Hyrule.
@@Moodachris still love it, but haven't played since the DLC came out. I'll definitely be playing soon as I'd like to introduce my girlfriend to the game, she's getting into games

L'atmosphère, l'ambiance, l'histoire surtout... C'est enivrant. J'ai hate que le 2 sorte. I'm sure the emotion at that scene _will_ get through when you're watching the whole scene fully immersed in the context of the story-whatever language you are playing in. There are multiple different interpretations but all convey the emotion in an good way. Which one you prefer is entirely subjective. That Nintendo rep is from France though, the European version is already getting multiple languages. However since there is a Latino version as well, separate from the European Spanish one it's likely that the USA is also getting multiple language options. If so it's not hard to include Japanese in both. Subtitles are undoubtedly in the game in different languages as well..
2:00 I JUST noticed this looking back, remember the first peek at this game where Miramoto and Aonuma sat together and Aonuma played? At 2:00 I'm pretty sure that shot of link paragliding is the same spot where they demonstrated paragliding with the sailcloth in that pre-alpha footage. I think they threw that scene in there just to show the fans subtly "THIS is what changed since then".
I watched the English trailer, thinking: Meh, it's not that bad, the voice actors trie- *hears Zelda's voice* Oh god, get the Japanese version in there.

Definitive version of the Voice acting. Zelda's voice is English is fine, but her crying is just not good or believable I'm sorry.
The Japanese voice acting has way more emotion and life put into it, in my opinion that is.
nicolas weber Only in Zelda's case with this one. The other characters have great english dubs.
It doesn't help that Zelda's voice in the English dub sounds corny as hell.
It’s mainly just Zelda. Everyone else sounds pretty good
Mipha sounds awful in the English version
Definetely when zelda was crying
my god zelda's cry broke my heart everytime
