Prosecutor examines Pecker.
In the E. Jean Carroll case, Trump said several times that he would testify, and then when the time came, he told that press that his legal team would not allow him to testify. (BTW, not true. If a client wants to disregard legal advice, he has the right to do so.) He did take the stand for a couple of minutes before being dismissed by the judge though because he was grandstanding for his campaign instead of addressing the case.
He's doing the same thing here. He's talking big, but will act small, blaming his lawyers. The lawyers are looking out for his best interests because they know that if he got on the stand, he would have to either confess or commit perjury.
It's a no-win scenario for him on the legal front, but talking big is a bonus for his political ambitions. He said in 2016 that he could shoot somebody on 5th Avenue in broad daylight with cameras running and not lose a single vote. That is one of the few times in his life he has told the truth. He is taking that attitude up to 11, and will exploit everyone, everything all at once.

Violation of the gag order is actually the crime of contempt, which has serious implications because the terms of the Defendant's release in his other criminal cases all require that he does not commit any crime - local, state, or federal. These implications have serious consequences and are likely why Justice Merchan is not issuing his decision quickly - he may be conferring with the other justices in the other cases to determine what they may do if the Defendant is guilty of contempt. Unfortunately this video didn't cover this key issue, hopefully it will be addressed in future videos soon.
