The pain on the kids faces when they say " I wish mum can come back so we can talk to her" in such cases the church must really help . Oh Lord help your people. This is painful to watch. I looked up their stories! They had happy endings thanks to their great bravery and the hard work of this journalist their lives were changed!
More can always be done for Zimbabwe though and South Africa should be helping. Something like a quarter of Zim's population have fled to SA (5 million people) and my country should be doing more to help their country so one day they can follow their dream to return home. I have met so many Zimbabweans and they were all amazing and strong people. My mother knew a lady that worked at our local supermarket, starting as a cashier and then eventually becoming the first black woman in management and she'd had to swim across a river to get here as another man in her group was caught by a crocodile!

My parents are both born in East Africa (dad Uganda & mum Kenya). They left EA in the late 1960’s and settled in the UK. They married and had me and then my younger sister. My dad lost both parents as a child and his siblings raised each other. He told me stories of when he was at school, their names would be called and they were told to go home because their school fees hadn’t been paid. There were 8 of them. They struggled to survive without parents. This reminded me of my dad as a child. I had a privileged upbringing compared to my parents. They were not educated, but understood the value of education and the doors it opens for you. I owe my education and career to them. They now tell my kids to study and how important having, as a minimum, a degree is.

Dear Lord Jesus. You say in your word, "For the affliction of the poor and the needy, now I will arise" says the Lord. Remember your people Lord, many are poor and needy, sick, afflicted & oppressed. They have no voice, the rich and the connected use, abuse, oppress and suppress them. Out of the abundance of your grace and mercy, remember & defend the cause of the poor Lord.

When the young men of a society have soooo little invested in their way of life, when they have no path to carry them to a better way of life, no hope for things ever getting better, no role models to set an example for them of how to succeed or improve their situation at all, you can expect violent uprisings & constant revolution. You can’t let the hands of the youth fall idle or you are begging for trouble.

This is a tragedy beyond description. When white farmers still farmed, people had jobs and there was food for everyone. Zim was the breadbasket of Southern Africa until Harold Wilson got rid of Ian Smith.
Now Zim is a basket-case. Zimbabweans wanted the land white farmers had. Now that they have the land, why are they not productive enough to feed even themselves. Uhuru has not brought African nations the prosperity they thought it would.
Shame on the political leaders of Zim for destroying their own people and turning the country into a wasteland.
There is no need for ignorant Americans to argue with me - I was there.

& children in America hate school, cursing the fact the have to go, I remember thinking the exact same thing. They’re attached to their phones/tablets like it is a part of their body. I know plenty of kids have it rough in America, I’m from the rural south & live in Appalachia now so poverty is nothing new. But virtually none of them suffer like this, authorities will take them to a foster home if they do. Nobody comes to save these African kids, they must fend for themselves even as small children, seriously eye opening & makes you so grateful for what you have.

I'm surprised that no one is talking about the fact that this video is over a decade old. Not to diminish the plight being depicted here, it's just not an accurate reflection of 2022 Zimbabwe. Yes things are not perfect in Zimbabwe, but this is not our current truth and it feels very one sided reporting.

This makes me so upset and sad, to watch this little girl have to take care of her mother and baby sister when she is only baby herself.

Not a bad prayer but surely people should be accountable for their folly,we need to pinot out who the cuprits are ot were instead of over burdening the creator!
