Not one trail in particular but all the trails around Bear Valley to the south of Kirkwood are really good too. Even further south same with the trails around Dodge Ridge.
I need to get up to the Kirkwood area soon and check out some of the goods. Lots of underrated riding to the south around Bear Valley off Hwy 4...as well as all the trails around Pinecrest off Hwy 108.
Hey what are some other ski resorts that are open for mountain biking? Sorry new to MTB trying to find places with lifts running during the off-season. Any places you drop I’ll greatly appreciate.
Don’t worry man! That is a great question. Kirkwood sadly doesn’t have its lifts open, but if you want to ride some Lifts, Northstar is really our only option here in Northern California. But, there are some great shuttle services that will take you to ride places like Downieville, GeorgeTown, as well as Quincy! Places that shuttle are much less expensive than places with Lifts, and are also a blast. I will say, I love days at Northstar when I can scrape the money together.
For Northern CA lift served riding you have Mt Shasta, Northstar, Bear Valley, Dodge Ridge, China Peak, and Mammoth. Those are the ones I can think of going from north to south.

Yeah! It is not too bad. It is off the main climbing road on the east side of the resort.
