It's the AMD fine wine effect you hear so much about... you just don't get it bro. It's the ugly caterpillar transformation into a beautiful butterfly thing, eventually one day I'm going to wake up and have a good card, then the journey will have been worth it. Usually new cards drop by then and you just repeat this process. You just wouldn't get it but the 68 other people that have an AMD gpu understand the journey. Then we rejoice when we see in retrospective content years down the road that our long past R9 390 did indeed out last the GTX 970. Validation Successful. AMD is GOD.

MW3 Season 2 new maps are filled with massive frame drops. I set my frame cap at 238 to keep G-Sync "on" and the last 2 Nvidia drivers haven't corrected the problem. Sometimes my frame rate drops to 140 FPS. Most of the time, even with my high settings. I can keep 260 to 270 FPS on my 3440x1440 Corsair Flex monitor. It's annoying AF!

For those of you who are defending AMD and saying it's a setting/settings - I tried every setting, from basic out of the box and advance settings to dozens of iterations of feature sets on and off. I'm sure you're right it's a setting somewhere or a combo of settings but I went through it thoroughly. I shouldn't have to see dips and do an easter egg hunt finding the setting, especially if it's a brand new 6950XT paired with a 7950X. Adrenaline has a better UI than GeForce but simply, it doesn't work. Even with Nvidia you don't even need Geforce, just the Nvidia Control Panel and Afterburner and you're all set. Luckily I already had an Nvidia gpu and used this 6950XT as more of play and test gpu before I sold it because it was practically free new in the box. Maybe they fixed the issue but over the years AMD just doesn't work as a plug and play. There's always a caveat with them. Honestly how do people forget that if you bought a 6900XT in 2020 you couldn't play warzone for nearly 2 years because of the dips. How does that go forgotten lol. @framechasers is 100% right. Never again. Intel 900k's/700k's and Nvidia is the way. I was foolish to try AMD even if it was for fun lol

not a amd fanboy so much as I really didn't like the way Nvidia nerfed functions for the 3000 series because of crypto mining. It reminded me of the time i bought a iphone and Apple restricted how many devices i could sync my music to in iTunes. I lost my shit and vowed to never ever buy apple anything again. I went AMD literally only for that reason If the intel cards where a little stronger I would have tried them out. gaming is one thing nerfing a product so It cant make you as much money is fighting words to me. regardless of your feeling about crypto that's a direct attack on your wallet.

I play Rocket League myself and the game itself often drops to 1 fps when loading something. A game that on integrated graphics will run in 100+ fps, people and on RTX 4090 slows down and drops fps dramatically because that is the game engine. Feel anything below 144 fps is easily.
But now watching from 320 to 240 is a drop that I bet even pro gamers can't feel. You only know with the fps counter. That's why I'm talking, since my limiter in the game is at 240, and I'm fine up to 144.

Recording and making clips makes the driver completely crash and need a hard reset, no matter which adrenaline version im using, didn't happen on my 6800, 580 nor 460, MPO still isn't fixed (they have fixed it twice, in 23.2.1 and 24.2.1, and it's a lie in both cases), power draw was fixed for a single driver patch, updating 23.12.2 to 24.1.1 and forward makes idle go back up to 80W, and i don't even want to mention new game releases like HD2, which as many problems it has, it's a horrible experience using RDNA3 vs any other gpu architecture, RDNA2 included.
People don't trash amd drivers for no reason, but because it works in your system it doesn't mean it's fine, remember the sample size of nvidia vs amd is like jupiter vs the moon, and for that size comparison, amd is pretty high in driver related issues, it's just not as bad as in 2019, but out of 10 driver problems on AMD, 8 come from RDNA3 .
It's the sole reason i switched to a 4070TIS, and so far every single one of my problems is gone.

I decided to give 7900XTX a try when I was buying a new GPU for my machine. My unit had the faulty vapor chamber and overheated. It might have had some other issues also as there was instability, but I returned it without too much troubleshooting after I found the vapor chamber issue. Bought 4070 Ti instead. I would have liked more VRAM (especially now as the AI models are more readily available and I dabble on that stuff also), but at that moment it was either the 4070 Ti or just spending more money on the GPU than I wanted to spend.

My friends have 7800XT, 7900XT and 7900XTX we play game for hours together and they never have issue but my 3090 blue screen crash my system in GTAV Online with all driver updated everything updated. When I play on HTPC I not have crash issue in GTAV with 6800XT, both Nvidia and AMD have issue from time to time but I cannot say one is worse than other. Only issue I have with Radeon was driver uninstall by itself but this not issue with Radeon driver this Windows auto update issue keep turning it on after every update but now it fixed.
I try 12900k for my power user use case, I test Linux distro in VM do compile while render and run game at same time so I use 7950x for this use all cores, 12900k not able do this due to only have 8 P core which very bad for VM and power user so I buy 7950x which serve my purpose. I play game on 1440p 144hz monitor cap 140FPS I see not reason to allow FPS to exceed refresh rate of monitor. With 7950x I can run Linux VM compile, render 4k video, watch video and play game 1440p 140FPS on 3x different monitors with other software being used in background all same time, 12900k can't do this.
7950x power user processor, if you gamer buy 7800x3D for $300 cheaper in my country. This AMDip you speak of I not see neither do friends complain this to me, we all use AMD processor but I also own Intel processor which useless for me. There not reason to buy 14900k or any Intel processor not even for server when you can pair ECC with old Ryzen processor for Truenas or build server like I have 1950x Threadripepr server which I will replace with 3950x soon with 64gb ECC for Truenas with Ubuntu Docker and Jellyfin. Even EPYC take much server market share from Intel because Intel option perform worse use more power and offer less cores. AMD processor good in fact best choice for power user and for gamer not need more than 7800x3D with B650 board and cheaper DDR5 Ram because ram tuning not net significant performance gain and 7800x3D ram tune not matter.

Which is what your channel caters for, the top 0.1%, those that need every ounce of fps. If the majority of gamers are not in this position you are right AMD doesn’t really have to do anything. Now, on the flip side, if the top 0.1% of gamers are all using Intel and Nvidia, this message will slowly filter down and could over time have a negative impact on AMD. Then at that point they may need to respond.

Asus uses probabely better on board components and better chips. I got the rx 6800 for around 550€ when the rest of the 6800 costed around 1200 so i think it was worth it.

I can't talk for AMD GPUs as I haven't owned one yet. But I do have owned Intel CPUs and NVIDIA GPUs ONLY all the time from 2014 and all the way up to February 2023 when I bought me a completely new computer with an 'AMD Ryzen 7 7700' CPU this time and a NVIDIA GPU again (RTX 3060 Ti) (couldn't wait until the 4060 Ti came out before buying a new computer).
Because I'm a gamer (mostly) and edit and encodes videos sometimes as well and uses a Mini-ITX case (like I have done the last 4 years), I have to use a CPU and GPU that doesn't need a nuclear reactor to run and isn't as hot as a volcano. I had to go for the 'AMD Ryzen 7 7700' CPU this time and continue to use a NVIDIA GPU.
The experience so far with the AMD CPU have been extremely positive for the year I have been using this AMD CPU. I haven't seen or experienced a single hiccup or issue with it so far. In fact, it has been as good as the Intel CPUs I have had through the years. So, nothing to complain about there.
As for the choice of continuing to use a NVIDIA GPU, there are several features the NVIDIA GPUs have that AMD doesn't have that favours NVIDIA for me. I'm going to list some of the more important features for me under here.
    - CUDA-cores (as I do video editing & encoding). It's much more available in video editing programs or other programs that takes advantage of the CUDA-cores. AMD have something similar I think, but it's nowhere close to be as much effective and available as CUDA is.
    - NVIDIA RTX Video (Super Resolution & HDR in web browsers and video players).
    - NVIDIA RTX TrueHDR in games (SDR to HDR conversion feature via AI and by using the Tensor-cores on a newer NVIDIA GPU).
    - Power usage. It's important for me as I'm using a Mini-ITX case.
    - Better 'Ray Tracing' performance. It's just a small added bonus to have this sometimes.
So, with this, I'm not favouring AMD over Intel here so far when it comes to stability as I have had very good experience with both brands now. It's only in power draw and temperatures I'm favouring AMD CPUs. However, when it comes to GPUs, then NVIDIA is hands down the best choice here.

thanks! I tried every setting, from basic out of the box and advance settings to dozens of iterations of feature sets on and off. I have more problems with my 4080 than my 7900 xtx tbh, I've never had any fps drops on the 7900 xtx in the year that I've had it. The only problem I've had with the xtx was the stupid dual monitor power draw bug, which was fixed months ago, finally. Aside from that, I've had more issues with my 4080, it randomly ocp trips my pc, despite running on a new atx 3.0 1600w titanium psu, it crashes randomly in every game I've played since buying it. And will even crash mid render sometimes. Checked every bit of hardware in and software on my pc, I even tried the card in 4 different pc's. I've redone windows at least 3 times 10 and 11, I even replaced everything in my pc through warranty, even the card, twice. After all that and 20 years of pc knowledge mixed in with a der8auer vid, I came to the conclusions it has to be the 12pin power connector. I'd prefer fps drops tbh, a 10-hour render shouldn't take 3 days because my pc keeps randomly crashing.

They actually have AFMF built into the drivers. You have to have adrenaline to shut it down. But even if you cut it off, there seems to be some part of the driver that still does frame gen.
I tried the newest drivers with Afterburner, there is no way to turn AFMF off, I was getting 300FPS 1080p in RDR2, but I needed a prescription for glasses to continue. The colors were washed out, and when you move the mouse at all it dips to 200FPS.
I installed Adrenaline and still the dips are still almost uncontrollable. Raising the sight to aim, even causes a microstutter of 6 frames everytime you raise the gun...

Nvidia is 99,99% stable without issues. AMD half of the time. You have to troubleshoot and things like that. I had my last AMD product as well. Never again.

@@karlos1060 Installing 1.24 latest official drivers for the 6xxx, adds about 20% CPU usage. Then you add the AFMF and FSR2 in RDR2 and a 13700K is up to 60% usage at times.
Install 12.23 drivers without adrenaline and usage goes down to 9-19% in game.
I turned everything in Adrenaline 1.24, off for AFMF, and turned FSR2 off in RDR2 and the drivers still use frame gen. You are simply toggling AFMF from 100% and 25% not turning it off.
95 to102FPS Averages with 12.23 drivers is way easier to stomach than 100FPS drops every time you move or an animal moves.

Remember Nvidia gpp that nvidia tried to do with third-party manufacturers and game developers? Where Nvidia tries to be Apple back then and now with the cheap unnecessary periphery connector that melts any Nvidia card that has it. Just go and look for 4090 and 4080 melted connector repair video from electronics repairers. A slight temporary inconvenience of a driver or playing Russianrulet with rtx 4090 that costs an arm and a leg. I remember when nvidia didn't do any Dutch door action with gamers. When they use to give us gamers a cheaper price and charged the commercial sector more. Instead of now double dipping and giping gamers of ram and cores that they should of had at launch.

My 3060 12gb is running WoW just fine on the latest Nvidia driver. I had been considering a 4080S just maybe I will sell off or try Linux on the the AMD cards. Haven't WoWed on Linux since Shadowlands though. It's something with the driver on Windows, don't really know what. Have a 12700KF and 12900KF, also thinking to upgrade to a 14700KF in the future possibly. Troubleshooting that AMD issue has been annoying though. It would crash a lot in DX12, so DX11 was the only option working.

Last time i tried it crashed like 5 times in 30 mins and letting me die as many times in a M+ key because i could not move my char due to a freeze and black screen for 10 to 15 seconds.
That did it. I tried Alan wake 2 where you can't turn of FSR or DLSS eventhough using native res and my dog...walking leafs on the ground just turned like to every angle while walking...that was beyond anoying. And the list goes on and on. Every time they release something new like what was it hyper-x i believe for example my Horizon zero dawn was going crazy like skipping a lot of frames and it hurted my eyes. The only thing with AMD that kind of worked is using no upscaling or anything. And then you still have to have luck.

My 4080S now does not get over 75c hotspot and about 60 to 65c in WOW while with my 7900XT my hotspot was about 95 to 100 c with core up to 70c so a huge difference between core and hotspot. The cards in both cases were the Asus Tuf Gaming. Both on silent bios.
But even in normal bios the AMD card still ran hot even with fans turned on high in my case (Corsair Crystal X570) now with my 4080 S it is silent as i have never had before! And stayes cool. The 0.1% and 1% lows should show in benchmarks though. it's not like E sport gamers have special ability to notice stuff, countless reviewers use this metric and noone show any kind of dip, but I get it that in some rare instances like the OW2 drivers, that's not debatable. overall, less issues with Intel and Nvidia I'm sure though, especially at launch, if possible I'd say wait a few months before getting AMD hardware, especially CPU and if you can afford it and want less issues, get Nvidia card.. the problem also is, mid range nvidia sux, so have to put 800$ for a card mini (might aswell get the 4080s at this point) to get 16gb vram, so yea, alot of people use AMD and will keep using AMD
As for the warzone dips, I think this needs more investigating, it could be an engine thing, I'm surprise the 7800x3d or 5800x3d gets these though..
One thing for sure is I have a 5600x and 2080 16gb 3600c16 and warzone runs like SHIT on my PC, it's unplayable, yet I play Apex all the time without issues, even if it's not stable frames it's so much more playable, Warzone engine kind of sux I feel like, maybe the problem is not AMD hardware is where I'm getting at..but the shitty engine more optimized for Intel somehow.
