    I like the the plywood cut on an angle to deflect the cut offs away from the blade and isolates blade teeth from the cut off! Pretty neat idea!😁🛫

    I am truly impressed with the quality of your content. I've been watching quite a lot of woodworking and DIY channels over the last decade and a half, yet, I've never seen any of them give advices about preventing parts from being damaged. Yes, this had to do with kickbacks, but in my mind, I saw it more as a "To prevent your parts from being damaged, those are things you may consider" instead of the kickback issues. I have barely woodworked in my life, I am less scared of kickbacks than messing up parts to be honest, and this video was extremely helpful and eye opening. Please keep those tips coming.

    I've had that problem and those are all really good ideas.
    Let me add- I can cut the pieces in such a way that they stay away from the blade but some saws vibrate enough while they are running that the little pieces will dance around and work their way back into the blade.

    It made me smile, given the previous videos on your repeatable cuts, that you're using the magswitch rather than your double sided tape. Makes me wonder if you're happy with the magswitch or if you're just trying it out. :) Love your elegant solutions!

    Another great tip, thanks!
    The fastcap zero clearance tape works great! My only issue with it was when I was cutting my groove/slot through it with the saw I got covered in some VERY sticky, yellow plastic 😅. Please make sure to add in a preventative solution for that when you make that video. Thanks again for the killer tips!

      I have also heard people complain that it chipped when they cut the kerf. But I didn't think about it making a mess! I held a piece of plywood down on the table when I did it for a clean cut. Same theory as a sacrificial fence elsewhere. So I got a clean cut AND no mess.

    I actually have the opposite problem of air blowing up, my dust collection sucks light pieces down and to the blade and the opening if it's not zero clearance. Love your ramp idea. On the zero clearance tape, do you have to make that the new surface flush to table saw top or is it negligible. Can you just do the same with painters tape or duct tape?

    • @InspireWoodcraft
      @InspireWoodcraft  2 роки тому +1

      I wondered about dust collection as I was testing it out. Interesting. I'm going to test it against painter's and see what happens. I could see duct tape, depending on the quality of course, causing issues though. It's pretty negligible but I suppose how dead-on you need your cuts. It makes a small difference at the front of the plate, but you can either file the leading edge down and make sort of a ramp, or if you have the option, lower your throat plate a hair. I feel like if you had a wide opening it would be way better than painter's tape.

      Make the tape longer and take a sliver from the miter gate and you good to go.
