Meet William and his Gagliardi Vex on this episode of ANSWRD. The Vex looks insane, with aggressive yet smooth styling and a very long body. It's over 80" wide in the rear. 11" rims in the back if you're curious, with large spacers, but not as big as Mr. WhistlinDiesel. The base under this isn't an MR2 or a Pontiac Fiero, it's a 2006 Porsche Boxster S.

Will bought the car via eBay from Gagliardi himself, so many of the technical questions such as weight, design influence, etc. could not be answered. I met Will through Facebook Marketplace as the concept car is now for sale. It's 1 of only 2 made so far and it's the only complete one. The body is completely sheet metal. In terms of modifications, the car was split down the middle and stretched to create the lines that it has, of course drivetrain and fuel lines, etc. had to be extended as well. It is a Targa top and the hardtop is made of fiberglass with a compartment behind the driver and passenger seats in which it fits neatly. It has a trunk and frunk as well similar to a Porsche Cayman S. It even has cupholders!
Unlike a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ or Ferrari 458 this car gets very positive looks and tons of questions from everyone and anyone on the street or at a cars and coffee meet. Thank you to those who submitted their questions for this episode!

1:30 TBH it having Celica headlights ain't even bad. The Vaydor uses Chevy Cruze Headlights, the Diablo uses Nissan 300ZX headlights, and the Vector WX8 uses Supra Headlights.
If the designer integrates the lights well enough into the bodywork, then I'll congratulate their craftsmanship and creativity!

Owning a Porsche and knowing its performance I think you picked a great donor car for the kit. Pretty good looking kit if I may say so.
Porsche 987 that is needed for this kit to work goes 0-60 in 5.1 seconds, that’s pretty slow considering how the car looks, but I guess you can do performance mods afterwards, but it’s probably still the best looking car for 50k

Seems a bit silly to worry about the resale value of a kit car, once you cut up that Porsche the 'book value' is gone. That being said, I would probably go with the Porsche base as well. Pretty good looking kit car IMO.
Boxster doesn't have good resale value, at least for the seller for the second hand buyer it is.

Now it's a 1 of a kind car. I think the market will find the value . Imo 100k to 120k . Figure 15-20k for base then 45k plus 4 months. So 65k plus 4mo. Wait I feel 100k meets that . If u wanna buy 1 upfront rather than get a base then send it In and wait 4mo. What do u guys think? It's a 1 of a kind car so in my mind it's a car and art and has value

I would. The C8 has too big an engine and in my country you'll be swimming in taxes because of it. For some people, this is the better choice.

No one that would buy this wants a C8. No one that wants a C8 will buy this. These are two cars for two different types of people.
So you bought a Boxter probably for 20k put 50K in kit car parts totaling at 75K??? for a car that's only use is looks????? You can get a used 911 for that money and have a real car with the looks and performance. Heck if you wanted looks buy a used Bently for 70k and you'll have the prestige, looks, and performance.
You can find a 05 boxster for cheapest I saw was around 7-8 grand bud😁

Let's assume you can get it for 35 all in. Still a boxster with a ton of miles, no performance resale maybe 25ish realistically speaking? I'd just get a used viper in the 40k-50k price range. It will hold its value, and it's a real car.

Porsh this Porsh that! 😆 car built to strike a pose. That's it! Value dropped bec it's no longer a Porsche. But gained the attention he wanted without having to afford a supercar or a custom 911.
The value for the boxter would never exceed 10 grand(for this specific model). It's still Porsche on the inside. Just aesthetic changes.
Love the look, but I feel this kit is for g35. Not sure If I like it more than the original boxster design

I personally feel and think that a beautiful Porsche (Boxster or not) shouldn’t be cut up and dressed up with a bunch of sheet metal and celica headlights just to say “look at my one off exotic car” . That car could’ve made a fabulous All around car with very simple/minimal modifications. Basic improvements will turn an already solid Boxster into quite the performer. No hate, you definitely put in the dedication and I will say it looks different from the rest of the kit cars I see or have seen. At the end of the day though its still his car and is proud of it and that’s what it’s all about.

I’d say it’s a good choice for a Boxter to be the original car. Fast and agile enough more then a MR2 or Fierro, but then again plentiful and affordable enough then a 911 or a Ferrari.

I like the Vex but it a bit wired how its under powered.

Yeah it's definitely not built to be a performance car, somewhat similar to the Vaydor kit that was built for the Infiniti G35. It looks very unique but is very heavy, has a horrible turn radius, and makes the G35 slower.

Should I Get It Reviews I wanna say if some sort of diffuser-or even like the mesh grill at the front vents/at the front of the car...or the same color of the car...I just can imagine as gorgeous as it would be pulling up to it.im like what’s all that space to the bottom..unless seeing it here on UA-cam is making it look bigger then it really is..but other then that..this car can sit with a c8 or any other mid engine exotic..I love it...and its daily-ish...insane.

I see so many negative comments but at least the creator of this design is doing something right because people are actually buying....and in all honesty this is a beautiful kit...most of the people trash talking have never built anything. Cheap XXR wheels and horrendous panel gaps..but cant really complain for the price. You get the “exotic look” but not the performance for 50k. You get what you pay for but “A” for effort.

It's a waste that they didn't at least try to work on performance( especially since we have eBay and other cheap alternative places to buy an array of engines) I saw a Bentley 6.0 W12 engine for $4,000 on eBay( since the car is so long I'm sure you could find a Corvette transmission or a ford gt trans to match that engine, Hell u might even be able to get away with changing engine transmission mountz then mount them transverse that way you can run a 5.3 ls4 with the front wheel drive transmission in the rear that way the power response would be crazy) if it was me I think I would chop the Porsche off behind the front seats and build a tube chassis with added sheet metal weld them together that way I could do whatever I want / power trans................

This car its more than 20 years old and i put 50.000€ or $ on this car? Men this car cost 3.000€ it is old and slow car without quality. I know that because i tested the Porsche and the Mercedes SLK and i choose the Mercedes. Doesn't worth it for me

Imo, this is a good effort but a tad over the top. If it was a little more subtle it would serve it better. Secondly, attention to detail. The interior quality looks cheap. The airbag for instance is peeling up and the panel inserts are to simply done, example the red door card inserts. Good first effort though.

A porsche is designed to perform not to look like it performs, messing up the proportions and weight distribution for sure changes the dynamics of the car. A kit car can look good but will never be engineered as good as a production car, it is for possers...
This is definitely a show / cruiser car and not a canyon culver. I would agree with that.
Think you missed the point of a kit car dude. There are plenty of kit cars that will obliterate production cars. Ultima, Superlite's SLC, Factory Five's GTM, all can, and have destroyed exotic cars. Saying a kit car is for posers is disingenuous, just like saying every production car has the same standards. production cars have factory recalls on them all the time. TVR is notorious for having cars with production issues, as is Mclaren.
