I know you asked this a month ago, but I actually have this. Yes, the controls on the front do work with audio outputs. I have speakers hooked up to the back and the volume and bass controls work to control those speakers!
@@jardonic I bought one. It's a great little DAC, I like the bass and treble controls. There aren't many DAC's out there that have those. It's well worth the money. Thanks for replying.
Basic query for you, my cd player separate has optical output. My cheap Amazon Dac has optical in and rac out. Will the sound be the same optical cd to optical speaker or should I try optical cd player to Dac and then rac from Dac to speaker ?
I've been thinking about buying it. The audio IC on my computer is so crap that I can HEAR when I'm transferring a file and when there's something CPU intensive running xD. and the P2 headphone output on my case is broken. It also doesn't work on Linux and macOS which are two other OS's I use alongside Windows. Is the Fosi DAC Q4 a solution for this? I only use generic gamer headphones lol
Hii!! I have one small dac fosi audio Q4. Is it possible to connect the Q4 on a pair of Klipsch R15M, or Jbl Stage A130 ? Just so i can get some sound that came from my headset or my screen sound columns... On fosi Q4 description it says 125mW 32Ω... What do you say? ( Remember i just have the fosi Q4 for now...) Thanks in advanced...
You need an external amplifier to drive your speaker, or you need active speakers with an internal amplifier. The 125mW is the maximum power for headphones with 32Ω resistance, which is not very much btw.
@@mattsmusichannel annnndd you just lost credibilty in this video. you don't even know its an amp.... clearly did not do any research before recording this review.
Here's an idea. Do a step by step demo video on hooking it up to a desktop and give the viewers something for their wasted time listening to you ramble on.
I’ve been using it for months on my ps5, sounds great
Very helpful video, thanks!
Can you tell me if the volume and tone controls work on the audio outputs in the back, or just with the headphones?

Definitely worth trying both. That way you can decide if you prefer the DAC in the speaker or the external one.

So i have a sony dvd player and just want to play my cd collection, so i will connect my dvd player to dac then connect the dac to the speakers?
no , before speakers you have to use an amplifier
@@tolgadabbagh1877thanks i have bought this dac now.
I have a similar fosi P1 that runs straight into my powered speakers and it works great
Can I use it for 5.1ch surround sound?
It's 2 channel stereo, so doesn't support 5.1 surround sound
@@DOS-jx9wyunless you get it working somehow thru 5.1
Can you run that amp off of an iPhone?
It's a DAC not an amp but you probably could. I use Samsung and it works with that. Haven't tried with an iPhone though.
It is a dac amp combo and will push headphones up to 200ohms
Yes, lightning to usb, then into the dac
