Man, we all knew that the Barbatos was cool, but seeing Strike Freedom out here running hands with the Barbatos just makes the Freedom even cooler.Strike Freedom versus Barbatos is an interesting fight as the mobile suits seemed to counter each other; therefore, I will argue in favor of Strike Freedom since I am more familiar with that series than IBO. The first thing to take into consideration is the phase shifting armor and its capabilities, which allow the complete nullification of physical type weapons as long as the mobile suit reactor can provide enough power. Additionally, color plays a role in this battle, as lighter colors tend to use less energy and have less defense, while darker colors are stronger, such as the colors of the Freedom and Justice (there's a reason why the Justice has a solid red color, whereas the Freedom has a lighter color scheme). This can be adjusted, however, as the Freedom could change its armored plating for more physical protection. Secondly, people believe that phase shift armor only works on small projectiles like bullets and stuff, but we have seen it literally block mobile suits from being rammed by others. Another point for Strike Freedom is its design, while it may not compare to the Barbatos specifically built frame for human movements, the Strike Freedom is based on the X100 frame, which incorporated human movements and had phase-shifting materials used throughout the entire frame, allowing for extremely flexible movement in the Strike Freedom. This should allow it to somewhat keep up with the Barbatos movements. Additionally, beam weaponry in Gundam Seed differs between guns and beam sabers. Beams fired from guns and beam sabers are different, so we don't know if the Barbatos can negate them. Also, consider the main cannon mounted around the belly of the Strike Freedom; it is not a typical beam weapon, but an energy cannon, which again we do not know if the armor on the Barbatos can block it.

Lupus Rex died to a railguns. The SF has 2 on it's hip, plus the inner frame is exposed. Everyone knows how accurate Kira is, probably the best shooter in the verse.
@guiltycross the rail guns in IBO are different to those in seed destiny thus we don't know if they would do the same amount of damage plus the fact that he survived those and continued fighting for a short period of time
@@lastdisbeleifcatzilla4869 rail guns are rail guns regardless, IBO gundams are not immune to physical attacks. Normal Railgun munitions are small so the SF can probably store tons of them.
@guiltycross I understand that but the ibo dainsleif (which is the actual name for said railgun) fire what is essentially a giant spear
@@lastdisbeleifcatzilla4869 i understand the difference in fire power. But IBO armor and inner frame are not gundanium alloy level. This simulation is just in a game-based gundam series. The real SF's phase shift armor will be a problem to the rex, it does not have any weapons that can damage that. Whilst the SF has rail guns- plus the pilot is too accurate for the rex to have exposed inner frame to easily target
the only pilot who does not deserve to use the freedom gundam. tf holds the dragoon and shoots long range weapons at once to a very near target
That's because Dragoons can't be used under gravity. He also doesn't use them during the full burst attack at the end
@@kflareplays746and also both machines armors counter the others prefered weaponry so he literally had to use it like a blade to forcibly peel the barbatos' armor off
And also the Dragoons can be used as daggers as well.
The Super DRAGOONs are not only stated to have beam emitters to produce beam blades, but they actually get used in Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3
So......who wins??
Mikazuki : switch with me goddamn it
Bruh i think hiroto is a good pilot for destroying a freaking meteor unit. Freaking meteors can wipe out an entire freaking fortress. Sure, hashmal is a mobile armor. But the meteors are way leagues better than hashmal. Not to mention its a game logic but hiroto doesn't get damaged from barbie.
@@zephyr7693 probably because of bad animation portrayal, it feels like rex got absolutely dominated by freedom in this clip ( where he lose even in close combat ) and it felt like plot only saved him and gives a free hit at freedom.
I mean a meteor unit has huge fire power im not complaining about that. But you need to also remember that wing zero before EW is able to demolish a colony as well ( although debatable since in EW he isn't able to completely destroy marimeia super shelter ).
Funfact about hasmal ( idk if you can still found the post in facebook / data book in 2023 ) :
Is that back in the calamity war its stated that agnika kaieru needs 3 batallions worth of gundam to be able to destroy a single mobile armor. While mikazuki + lupus limiter off is able to defeat hashmal single handedly.
However as i stated above, that is only in a post that i read back then. If it turns out to be false then maybe mikazuki isn't that amazing after all.
@@william_riku well i kinda agree with ya. I guess im actually biased cause hiroto is one of my favorite pilots. I guess hiroto isn't leaning on close combat that much if you think about it. I mean he is an all rounder because of his gundam (core gundam). So he is basically balance in all range.

Which episode is this??
btw seeing strike freedom used like this is a disgrace lmfao . the pilot of the SF is kinda disappointment
How so?
@@Prime92 Nanolaminate armor melts when shot with beam weaponry, so Rex would eventually lose its armor under sustained fire from SF. Beyond that, SF has railguns that Rex has no defense against, and can fly. SF has an incredibly precise weapons system too, so there's basically nothing that Rex can do in this matchup besides getting hammered until either the nanolaminate melts off or the railguns tear it apart. Barbatos doesn't even have clear melee superiority; all versions of Freedom are highly mobile and competent close-range machines.
Barbatos just has the big problem of coming from IBO, where all the technology is really weak by Gundam standards. There's a serious question if it'd be able to fight against even units from the late-OYW simply due to the ubiquity of beam weapons. Nanolaminate armor is basically the anti-beam coating on the Hyaku-Shiki from Zeta Gundam, which definitely wasn't an end-all answer to beam weapons and could just be shot through with even moderate beam weapons.

Terrible pilot insulting strike freedom capability
indeed. what a disgrace to the factory who built that strike freedom
Strike freedom can't use dragoon in gravity conditions,so instead of sealing it off, using it as a beam saber is a wise move
Variable Phase Shift technology applied to the frame too,so the fist of SF still pack a punch
Under these circumstances, against a high mobility close counter Rex, it is no use to waste your energy on spamming beam to get dodge by Rex, getting the combat in close range and use the VPS to tank the dmg, while looking for opening to use beam to slowly exhausting Rex namo laminated armour, the tactics use by champion was the right choices
@@QienCho5566 it still can't justify shoving DRAGOONS like that. Why not he use railgun that Kira used to dismantle Destiny's sword in close range? That actually really effective against Barbatos.

1st 2 of strike freedom's weapons aka his side skirts are railguns... and we all know what that does to ibo gundams
2nd strike freedom was a gundam specifically designed to ignore defense and take only offense... the developers called it a paper canon and it was only useable cause Kira did what no simulation ever could... not get hit even once
strike freedom would won has rail guns shells can maneuver air better and has burst mode and funnels are super fast and can blind sight or combine laser shots
@noesc190 on the MG kit manual... they used a sliding armor technology to make it move more like a human but sacrificed defense so didn't wanna roll it out butt.... Kira "made it happen" so... eh.... anyhow so what I'm having trouble is why da faq is he choosing to cqc on a Gundam like strike freedom against a Gundam like lupis rex
@user-yg7ck9ip3d well... I wouldn't say it's a hands down victory... lunar laminate armor is showen to have exceptional beam defense capabilities so the only real weapon strike freedom has is the railguns and the head valcan
@@JaeminKim-qo2osYeah, but nanolaminate can be worn off with enough attacks, so it's not exactly a perfect defence against beams.

The freedom would get completely demolished by the barbatos lupus rex in close combat.
That's the thing, you have to get close to it first. Freedom has the best speed and reflexes on any CE Gundam, and it's pilot tactic is always about long range engagement so it can easily escape anywhere, not to mention Barbatos is never equipped for long, endurance battles, while SF does with its Nuclear power source. So Freedom got the air superiority, unlimited duration of them.

While the barbatos is a relic, it does have some properties that make it a bit more than a bucket of scrap metal, considering that with it's limeters off, it rivals the Exias Trans-Am. Unfortunately however, the strike freedom has phase shift armour, meaning that literally everything in it's arsenal is useless against even something like the normal strike gundam.
@@slimycake6405wait what? - Phase shift armour has been stated to be completely immune to physical attacks, which is what Barbatos specialises in. Nevermind the fact that Barbatos should never be able to get anywhere near the Strike Freedom in the first place

*Nanolaminate Armor is not only resistant to beam weapons but also highly effective against physical projectiles. Ranged weapons can only chip away small pieces of it, leading to the prevalence of physical melee weapons as the most effective means of damaging the armor.

Strike Freedom sure is "faster" but it have LIMITED energy, as the opposite to Lupus Rex which has UNLIMITED energy thx to it's double ahab reactors. Did you forget that Mika fought 3 whole days and nights in Lupus? And the only thing that stopped him is fatigue?
"No, Strike Freedom has phase shift armor that makes it immune to physical attacks!"
Yeah? And what did it cost to have that kind of defense? ENERGY. When Strike Freedom is out of energy, it will be a sitting duck for Lupus Rex.
"But Strike Freedom also have railgun cannons on it's skirt armor!"
Correction: BEAM railgun cannons, not PHYSICAL railgun like Dainsleif. Hell, even a normal MS coated with Nanolaminate armor paint could tank a Mobile Armor's beam attack which is a slightly weaker version of Unicorn Gundam's Beam Magnum shot.
Edit: Strike Freedom winning is such a BS, and of course there IS a reason with such BS; because Seed Gundams are Bandai's golden goose. Just look at how Bandai milked Seed gundams like crazy.
but SF is nuclear powered, what kind of bootleg limited energy SF you're reffering to?
You're high on copium bud. The Strike Freedom was explicitly stated to never run out of energy in the anime. The only nuclear powered Gundam that runs out of energy is the Destiny because its wings have a higher output than its reactor. No other nuclear powered Gundam in Seed or Seed Destiny runs out of energy.
The railguns fire physical projectiles, as they're developed from the Freedom's railguns, which would you have guessed, fire physical projectiles... You should stop smoking whatever you're on. Nanolaminate isn't an almighty 100% beam resistant coating either, it can be worn off. You have never seen Seed or Seed Destiny, stop talking.
