  • I show a simple and effective way of connecting to free Internet. With the help of a homemade antenna I can boost Wi-Fi signals and connect to free access points.
    In this video I am going to show:
    - how to make a simple and effective Wi-Fi antenna
    - NanoStation M2, FA20 antennas
    - super long-distance reception Wi-Fi
    - demonstrating the efficiency of homemade antennas
    We still have lots of ideas but due to difficult situation in Lugansk, we really fall short to money. But you our viewer can help us in our experiments. Undoubtedly you have some great experiments and incredible inventions ahead of you! Thanks to your help we make our videos more frequently! We will be happy to receive any financial aid you can provide.

    I think that's a very interesting topic, thank you for translating it. I know this is how you dub and translate movies etc. in Eastern Europe, the translator speaking over whoever is speaking in the movie, but we are just not used to that. What works for us is either to just leave the soundtrack the way it is in Russian and add subtitles, or remove the original sound and dub the translation over it. I would just add subtitles, that should be the easiest here.

    Interesting, i tried to build a helical antenna and got good results but making and keeping the copper spiral perfect was a pain in the ass and it ended up breaking. I might give this a try, is there an optimal wire diameter? I have 2.3mm, that sort of stuff is so expensive here i just ripped it out of an old transformer

    I made several of these antennas about 7 years ago to protect from weather I recommend a Tupperware container. I think I found that if you try to extend the USB cable more than about 15 ft. the resistance becomes to high without an amplifier.

    • @ghz24
      @ghz24 7 років тому

      Yep about 15 ft. is the most you can get and that is with a standard 70 mw WIFI dongle, if you get a higher power device it may not extend even that far before the voltage drop starves the device of power. You can use a powered USB hub to get another 15 ft or splice in to the cord and over voltage it to compensate for the line drop.
      I abandoned USB dongles when I found DD_WRT and started using routers and hacking my own POE cords (cat-5) then I could use a cord up to 100 meters long.
