It took me a year after it came out to get into this song. I mean it goes to a lot of places that I wasn't ready for musically. Now that I finally understand it, this is by far ABR's best song.
***** Completely agree, their newer albums never really hit me at first... then months or years later I can't figure out how I missed their brilliance in the first place
Wow, quite liked the music, so continue being a good Christian band and the work of you is worthy to be admired because of their lyrics tell God how wonderful life is and that without them we are nothing, you guys have changed my life when I met the band because I was an atheist and believed that God was merely an idol worshiped all and I had not any faith to believe him, and came one day when a friend of mine took me to church and I surrendered to God and ... the feeling was wonderful and you guys in the band made me believe more and more in God with their songs and appreciate and then that's what and God bless you
Jake Luhrs is the only musician that ever sit dawn after a show for a beer and have had chat a little chat with his fans. That was unfogettable experience for me, such a nice person. (Fan from Slovakia)
Not true, Had a long chat with Brandon Butler from Veil Of Maya. Awesome guy, talked for 30min+ after a show. Stayed out in the rain with me and my friend just to chat know his fans
This album is growing slowly but surely as their best for me. Constellations/Rescue & Restore > Messengers > (Christmas album) > Thrill Seeker > Leveler. To be honest even their weakest is way better than other metalcore bands' average album.
I can agree about their weakest still being a lot better than other metalcore bands. I used to listen to A LOT of metalcore, so I know my way around it despite not listening to much of it anymore. And everything I've heard just pales in comparison. What they're doing may not be some kind of break through in music, but in their specific genre, it is something a little new and refreshing.
It hits me hard when comes the part: "I'm just as much the problem as the man behind bars He did with his business what I do in my heart" Because we are no better people. It has helped me to see people in different view and not to judge.
This song is correct in SO many ways. Not only lyrically, but as a whole. The whole song is preparing you, step by step, to reach the last 24 seconds. A masterpiece. In every way.
LYRICS: You give us dreams to wake us up You say, "Take pride in the provision." When all we see is the face of defeat You say, "Take pride in the provision." This song SCREAMS 'Hope.' "...The past is a part of me, but not who I am. I realize my identity is not in what I've seen, but in what I believe to be true...All that was lost is not lost. Even the worst of mankind can't disrupt sovereignty." Thanks ABR-thanks for reminding us of the hope we have.
JuanD Finn wish I could say the same thing about my past. Unfortunately it isn't something I can ever shrug off and go back to living life and enjoying it ever again. Before I got a knock at my door life was amazing. No worries. Job etc. after that door knock. My life took a turn and prison hit and it caused things to get worse and now that I'm out, I no longer see the world as I once did... people take their freedom for granted... I have rules to live by for many many MANY years to come... it is something that no song, or no sign "don't let anyone judge you for your past blah blah ". Things like that can only be compared to someone who has a less then extreme past.
Jesus came to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners. He came so we could have a garment of praise instead of despair. (Is. 61) In John 16:33, He says, "In this world you WILL have trouble. But take heart, I have overcome the world." He understands your tough situation. He came to teach and show love and justice and mercy, and He was lied about, beaten, tortured and finally killed by the people He came to help. Take it to Him, man. His peace transcends this world. His Kingdom is not of this world. This life here in this broken place will one day be just a blink-but our eternity with Him is going to heaven...forever! I am not minimalizing your situation and life, I am magnifying His plan for YOU (Jer 29:11)
Doing alright. Doing what i can to skate by each month... Living from month to month isn't easy. When your freedom is on the line... No sympathy.. Every month and then every year with a lie detector. Not many people believe that there is a "God" But based off the shit i've been through, i can tell you first hand that there is... OR else i wouldn't be messaging you this right now.. Appriciate the message, and sorry i didn't reply the first time. I never got notified that you commented back.
After listening to this album more and more, I think this is my favorite from them. Messengers used to be but this is more technical and melodic. They have really grown and honestly I think they poured their heart more in this album than anything. The whole album touches on what matters today in the world and what they believe. I've really grown to this album with the hard and fast paced parts followed by the soft and slow melodic parts displaying peacefulness with awesome vocals the whole time. Always a fan.
***** For me its in this song, "Im just as much the problem, as the man behind bars. What he did with his business is what I do in my heart." To me it means that humanity as a whole looks down on those who are "bad" when on the inside they're just as wicked.
this song right here along with most of this album has been MY STRENGTH getting through some really shitty times in my life since its release. the wisdom in these lyrics along with the emotions from the vocals... mix that with the crushing breakdowns, groovy bass and crazy drums is just perfect to my ears and heart. so if this opinion isnt something you agree with, then simply shut up and find something else to listen to. life goes on, your ignorance doesn't have to. the only constant is change. EMBRACE IT!
Griffin Jones Lots of people had jobs in the bible. Job in this case was a person. And there's an entire book about the person named Job and how God treats those who don't act on faith but rather on works and self importance. August Burns Red says "Even the worst of mankind can't disrupt sovereignty." I think the book of Job has something to do with the meaning of this song.
This record has by far their best skills on display as musicians. It had tons of riffs and other things that no other band can do, plus the softer moments are all meaningful
the reason i love abr is that they are so creative with everything, especially guitar. they usually play in drop c but this song is in drop b so when i heard about this song i thought i was gonna hear a parkway drive type breakdown but they made there own and it’s so fuckin brutal
All of the answers are hidden deep inside of us. Letting go is the only way to keep going on without hasitation. Keep it going guys. The kids need your songs. In a dying world the only real things in our lives are our familys and the way we feel. Bands like You give us streinght to go on. Thanks for making us believe!
I dont think people realize how much work went into making this video. this probably took a really long time for the editors and effects people to make this.
-scrolling thru youtube- OMG A PROVISION MV! -taps- -fangirls for 4 mins and 39 seconds- XwX I love how the guitarists sync together and how Jake dances and jogs in place while singing -squeals-
One of the few metalcore bands I still listen too. They were my favorite band for around 2 years and rightfully so. Definitely stand out from all o their acquaintances
ok it's very cool, but original ? I don't think so. you still all the musician playing and headbanging all along the video. watch the last Killswitch Engage's clip, and after you've finished crying, edit this com.
devilduc Sure I'll watch the new Killswitch Engage clip, which I didnt know that came out, thanks for that. But it's a matter of opinion if I found ABR new music video original or not.
I will love this band forever. .thank u august burns red for making songs that inspire me...your songs have always made me me feel good when I am down...
You guys are amazing. Great effects, but this doesn't seem like you. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but it just doesn't seem like something you guys would do. I agree with Jesse Castonguay. Ya'll are fracking amazing live, and Back Burner is one of my favorite videos. But, you guys did that when you were younger, and it's always nice to update something. So, that's what I wanna see from you guys. Ya'll are my favorite metal band!
It's not even how tallented these guys are that makes them how good they are... it's how they move on stage on top of everything else. If you look like you are having fun then someone is having fun watching you... Best live act since Feeder for me... what a contrast.
As much as I can see how much work must have gone into this video, and it does look awesome, it just seems a bit... juvenile. The song's still rocking though.
Juvenile?! They are in their 20's not 50's...it's an artistic video made by artists. My question is what would make this less juvenile, if sex and violence was in the video??? If anything, creating a video that doesn't conform to hardcore/metal standards shows the maturity of this band. Just my two cents.
Dustin Lovell I wasn't going to reply but when I saw how many "thumbs ups" your comment got, I was too appalled not to. If you actually read my comment before jumping to conclusions, you'd see that I said "it does look awesome". Of course it's artistic. But why would sex/violence feature in the video? That's not exactly ABR's style... And your logic's flawed there - just 'cause it doesn't conform to the standards doesn't make it "mature". Does creating a video featuring Barney the dinosaur demonstrate the maturity of the band? Wouldn't think so. I love ABR. I agree with +Jesse Castonguay's comment.
For me it's actually a three way tie between Paradox, Composure, and White Washed. I'd say that Constellations is still their best album even though the new one was awesome too
I still think Messengers is their best album. The breakdowns are just so sick, I dont know how they can be beaten. This new stuff is ok in my opinion. Thrill Seeker and Messengers still the best.
Lordless Exactly! I think Constellations is their best hands down. It still had all the heaviness of Messengers but at the same time they were just beginning to experiment with new sounds. They didn't overdo it on Constellations, not to say that Leveler or R&R were bad, but I think they achieved a good balance on that album. Plus, Mariana's Trench and White Washed, I mean c'mon.
I think each album is different. Messengers was probably the heaviest and had the best breakdowns, constellations had some of their most impressive guitar work and was probably their most progressive, leveler ws their most experimental, they included a lot of really cool elements and istruments and rescue and restore is just kinda a nice representation of who the band is
It's December, 2024 and I'm still here. ❤
One of the best songs of all time. So many years later and I still have to fight back tears.
going on dec 8th to CBR in Lancaster and can't wait for them to play this since night 1 is the R and R 10 yr set.
@@Wizerslapskidude how was that show? Seeing them for I think the 12th time next Friday in Atlanta and cannot wait for that album.
"I'm just as much the problem as the man behind bars, he did with his business what I do with my heart"
My fav lyric of all time by them. That's a statement and perspective of humility.
This band has the best breaks.
“Losing it all led me to You”
One of the best bits of lyrics ever.
The lyrics, the drums, the guitar riff, unbelievable, a fucking masterpiece!
Matt Greiner youre the best drummer I know!
+Philip Watson *That I heard.
Better?? ??
+yuri Khomyakov Matt is my hero
Rawr I luv Matt he rips❤️❤️, fangirl enough for u?
I literally lost it all and I hear God say: take part in my provision! This song means so much to me
1:45 when the smoke pours in behind Jake, chills.
August Burns Red is like the wine... better with the pass of the years
And i still agree
I agree
Verdade of the verdades
Yes
yessir!
It took me a year after it came out to get into this song. I mean it goes to a lot of places that I wasn't ready for musically. Now that I finally understand it, this is by far ABR's best song.
it is a great song man..one of my favs by them
they have a habit in doing that i think lol
once you find that meaning in their songs, it just makes their songs that much more amazing.
I know the feel man. Sometimes it takes me ages to get into songs, but once I 'get it' it's awesome :D
***** Completely agree, their newer albums never really hit me at first... then months or years later I can't figure out how I missed their brilliance in the first place

come to Brazil someday 'u'
the guitar melodies are … mindblowingly good. some of abr's best guitar work ever.
Cole444Train ABR just keeps getting better. Heard their new album "Found in Far Away Places" yet? Totally brutal and epic.
Cole444Train I’m sure you’ve heard it by now but you have to check out their new song Dangerous! The riffs 45 seconds in are so sick!
@@Rawk4Life Phantom Anthem is great
Have you seen Defender? Guardians is so new yet so old haha

not really true. other musicians do the same too. just for you to know.
Yeah thats not true, I had a whole conversation with Aaran, Lawrence and Mat from While she sleeps after their set.
Though it may seem untrue at times given the raw level of awesomeness some of us exude - most musicians are, in fact, real people. True story.
Not true, Had a long chat with Brandon Butler from Veil Of Maya. Awesome guy, talked for 30min+ after a show. Stayed out in the rain with me and my friend just to chat know his fans
Braden Wright whoaaaaaaa. no way! :)
Modern melodic metalcore at its finest. August Burns Red for LIFE!
+Andrew Konkey wtf is modern XD
I don't care what anyone says. This album is breath-taking.
This album is really great, but Constellations is their best in my opinion.
ArmchairExpress I actually like leveler a lot more. its hard to come up with a "best" album by abr since so many people have different opinions
Lot's of diversity here, my favorite album is Messengers but this one and all the others are outstanding too
This album is growing slowly but surely as their best for me.
In my opinion, this is the best metalcore song of all time!! So complex, refreshing, and iconic. I cant believe this exists
the second "losing it all led me to you" scream at like 1:26 is fucking amazing. It always makes me think of a cougar, or just something vicious.
It hits me hard when comes the part:
"I'm just as much the problem as the man behind bars
He did with his business what I do in my heart"
Because we are no better people.
It has helped me to see people in different view and not to judge.
+Joel Korhonen Me too man... me too, really makes you change your perspective on how you see others...
+Joel Korhonen Favorite lyric of the song
True fact
damn, i never really knew what those lyrics were until i read your comment... really does change your perspective on other people.
gives me chills haha
Jake is like the only screamer who's voice gets better over time, rather than getting worse or not changing at all like most
Maybe it's the vocal fry...nah probably the editing, you can really tell with the lows that they edited it a lot and it sounds SO much better imo
sam carter
Keller Martin
I disagree, ABR is one of the best sounding live performances. I promise you it's not solely the editing
isaac ruegg
But listen to the drastic difference between say, Constellations and R&R...the vocals sound REALLY different to me, especially the lows
You haven’t listened to Winston McCall from parkway drive then. Put out more records and still sounds amazing.
jake luhrs is a beast at screaming.
dont u mean vocals haha
Love it when he screams
"Even the worst of mankind can't distrupt sovereignty"
What I like about this is that you can watch it 100 times and still see new things.
Life and self is an eternal new discovery and relearning that you already knew. Ironic isn't it?
They are legends! I will always like them, and I met them!!
This song is correct in SO many ways. Not only lyrically, but as a whole.
The whole song is preparing you, step by step, to reach the last 24 seconds.
A masterpiece. In every way.
LYRICS:
You give us dreams to wake us up
You say, "Take pride in the provision."
When all we see is the face of defeat
You say, "Take pride in the provision."
My future's finally found me, figured me out
It's painful. It's tough. I never saw it coming
Come as it may, cause life is a lesson
I'd rather learn then end up in a cold covered up dark grave
These are the words of a man, who finally let go
These are the goals of a man, who's laid it all down
Losing it all made me realize I am the victim
The culprit, the casualty, and the cause
Losing it all led me to you, ( to you )
Losing it all led me to you
Im sick. I need sight. I need help
I need you, and I'm not getting any better
I am the deceiver. Im not getting any better
I am the thief, the whore, the murderer
It's times like these, it's time like these
You forget to remember who you are. The way up is down
Truth is found when life throws you out and kicks you to the curb. I'm just as much the problem as the man behind bars
He did with his business what I do in my heart
You wronged me. You crossed me. I'll never let it ruin me
Lessons are learned deep down within my heart (in my heart)
The worst men make the best stories come true
The past is a part of me, but not who I am
I realize my identity is not in what I've seen

Dustin Lovell
agreed, this video is pure artwork
Dustin Lovell Amen brother!! well stated
Make a better one then...
One of my favorite bands. Never cease to impress.
No Vevo, I do not want to watch Justin, Drake, Christina or Taylor after this...
Love This Band And All There Albums.
Easily my favorite song by ABR
For me it's actually a three way tie between Paradox, Composure, and White Washed. I'd say that Constellations is still their best album even though the new one was awesome too
Dan Mooney My favorite is the 11th hour great lyrics and drum chops.
Matt Greiner makes his intricate and intense drum skills seem so simple.
"Losing ot all led me to you!"
Why had I not heard this yet. This is perfect.

ABR never disappoints me. By far one of my favorite bands
if you like august burns red then you should check out a band called angel Vivaldi they have a lot of melodic guitar solos in their songs
the only thing with Angel Vivaldi is that its without vocals. But Angel Vivaldi is really good tho!!!
I personally listen to ABR for the breakdowns more than the solos just me though
THAN YOU MAN!
Just searched after seeing this comment. Loved them!
I've met Angel Vivaldi, he's really good!
hey man, I did not know angel vivaldi, you made my day
One of my favorite ABR videos 🤘🏽
I still think Messengers is their best album. The breakdowns are just so sick, I dont know how they can be beaten. This new stuff is ok in my opinion. Thrill Seeker and Messengers still the best.
Agree with you!
Totally..
Constellations bro
Lordless Exactly! I think Constellations is their best hands down. It still had all the heaviness of Messengers but at the same time they were just beginning to experiment with new sounds. They didn't overdo it on Constellations, not to say that Leveler or R&R were bad, but I think they achieved a good balance on that album. Plus, Mariana's Trench and White Washed, I mean c'mon.
I think each album is different. Messengers was probably the heaviest and had the best breakdowns, constellations had some of their most impressive guitar work and was probably their most progressive, leveler ws their most experimental, they included a lot of really cool elements and istruments and rescue and restore is just kinda a nice representation of who the band is
This song is the perfect opener for the album and when they play live!!
Am i the only one... who thinks that they are the "replaybutton" crasher's ?
“Loosing it all led me to You”.... powerful lyrics...
