    Alessia,
Thankyou for illuminating some of the finer points of the art of ballet, your art. Very generous share. Natural midwife/teacher bringing out the best in others, cheerfully and with grace
A most helpful point was about breathing from the back. YOU simplified a difficult mind/body connection for me after years of trying to understand this concept, first introduced to me thru yoga. Whodathunk(lol)to breathe laterally, from the sides, especially in a corset. Visceral! Most of us modern gals have corsetted ourselves into too tight jeans not to mention, shapewear so we know how that might feel and with your description,i was able to imagine myself wearing such a thing and inhaling sideways and up into my lungs. ONE AND DONE ALESSIA..fantasitic,thanks again

Michele your messages really made my day! Thank you! I'm pleased that all the visual examples are coming across clearly, and above all I'm so happy I can help you discovering other ways to move the body!
Thank you again for your energy and your lovely self!
      Love

I am sure that I would look more like a rather shallow saucer than a banana or a boat, but this is a good workout! said it before, I really like the 10-15 minute routines, as they feel much more achievable than the longer ones. Therefore I'm more likely to do one, and then another, and then a stretch!

Tell them about your assets that could make you a good ballerina. Tell them about how passionnate you are, show them the workouts you do on your own or the ballet videos you watch. Ask them to at least let you TRY.

Well you could start later. Maybe it's a money issue. If I were young and couldn't pay for the classes myself I would get into the best ballet shape as possible by doing these and other exercise and practicing plies and tendus as perfectly as I could until I could afford lessons myself.
I heard many teachers say good plies and tendus as well as placement go a long way in building ballet skills.
      Good luck!!!!!

Please please someone reply. I've been practicing for a few weeks now but I still can't make third position full out. Are there any exercise you can do to make the legs more flexible? It's the same when I lift my leg from the side, I can't make it fully to the side but am very stiff so to speak? :/
