I have designed this hands-on course to provide you an intense yet enjoyable instructional experience that focuses on a large number of both introductory and advanced topics in SEM using the latest version of one of the most well-known software package, IBM AMOS (Analysis of Moment Structures). In this course I will provide the materials and instruction that you need to both develop a good understanding of SEM and to be able to thoughtfully apply a variety of basic and advanced models to your data. More specifically, this course will cover a broad range of topics such as
• data preparation,
• model development,
• model fit assessment using various indexes,
• construct reliability and validity assessment using various methods,
• different methods to improve your model,
• structural model assessment,
• hypothesis testing,
• mediation using Baron and Kenny approach
• mediation using Sobel test
• mediation using bootstrapping method
• moderation,
• and multi-group analysis
Extremely Helpful Professor! Big Thanks from India.
Hi Dr. Sharif, thanks again! I request you to upload TWO more videos to this series if possible.
1. Model containing two possible mediators and
2. Model containing two mediators for multiple groups. Your contents are very helpful. We appreciate!
Hi Jabir,
I overlooked your message. sorry about it. Thank you for the suggestion. I'll make the videos soon. Stay tuned! ;)
Very informative and easy to follow. Thank you
Thank you Dr. Sharif!!! you save my life!!! the way you taught is super clear!😊
Thank you very much for your nice comment. 🙂
I'm always your student in this subject. Greetings from Tanzania. Thank you for this presentation.
Thank you for your nice message Anthony! All the best!
Your videos made me love this complex monster. My supervisor told me I have to use Partial Least Square-SEM. I am wondering where to learn it. Probably you might have some great videos on the same. Thank you ❣️
@@anthonygikuri It depends which software you want to use for PLS-SEM analysis. As you already learnt AMOS and CB-SEM, it would be very easy to learn PLS-SEM. There are many videos on UA-cam on PLS. I learnt SmartPLS from this book: A Primer on Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). It's easy to understand and you don't even need any background in statistics.
Thanks Dr. Im learning a lot from you
Thank you Ram
Nice analysis
Your works are Great Dr. Sharif. I already read your book in persian. Also great!
Thank you for the feedback! Which edition of the book? :)
@@saeedsharif It is published for 3rd time in 1400.
Great. :) Hope it was helpful!
HI Dr. Shariff, what does it mean for the covariation of the dependent variables? How are we going to explain that? Thank you so much.
Dear Professor, I have found in one of papers, in total, direct and indirect effect, p value along with t, R square, Q square values are reported. How can I get corresponding t, R, Q values for the tree effects, please by using AMOS?
Hi Dr. Sharif, thank again for your video.
I have a wonder, why it has to be "20 Threshold for modification indices"? what was it mean?
Could you please recommend any reference?
Thank You sir for this informative video. I have written a paper using this procedure. Can you provide the reference of paper that confirms this procedure because Zhao et al., 2010 is not considering the total effect model.
Dear professor, which source (paper) do you refer to on the first slide (the one with the illustration of the if conditions)?
The content of this series on SEM is available in my book. However, the book is in Persian language. The full citation: Pahlevan Sharif S, Sharif Nia H. Structural Equation Modeling with AMOS. Tehran, Iran: Artin Teb; 2018.
Hello Sir
Thankyou for this wonderful lecture
Can you please provide me with the citation for this?
TIA
Hi Dr. Sharif thanks for the video. I have a guestion
What results should we look for for the hypotheses written on paths a and b?
For example,
H1 There is a relationship between subjectine norm and attitute
H2 There is a relationship between attitude and intention
Rate before or after boostrap work?
Or are the values in the boostrapt direct effect section interpreted?
Dear prof, can you provide an example of the literature that recommend 1000 bootstrap samples?
Hi Sandra,
Sorry for the late reply. I overlooked the comments on this video. Everything mentioned in my videos can be found in my book. Feel free to cite it in your work: Pahlevan Sharif, S., & Sharif Nia, H. (2018). Structural equation modeling with AMOS. Tehran: Artin Teb.
How do we interpret the path coefficient? how do we treat non-metric moderators with multiple categories?
Hi Wakuma,
I've covered this topic in my next videos in this series. Let me know if you couldn't find them. All the best.
@@saeedsharif I got it on the last session. Thank you indeed!!
@@wakuma_akafu Great!
Dear sir
Can you pls share the data file for practice?
Do you still need it? I realised that I had overlooked the comments on this video. sorry about it
Dear Professor, If you share the data, it would be very useful. Please Share google drive link.
The data and all other materials are available at www.gociri.com free of charge.
@@saeedsharif I registered but I am getting the following message "Your account has not been approved yet." How many days will it take?
@@RamakrishnaSalagrama1 Sorry about the delay. We had some technical issues. It should be approved now. Check again please
@@saeedsharif Thank you. It's working!!
Can you please shed some light of the assumptions that are to be met for employing mediation analysis bootstrapping
Do you mean the assumptions on the distribution of the data? It is an assumption-free approach
@@SciRes I was talking about mediation analysis used in SEM. is that assumption free? Assumptions as in the criteria that needs to be met like normality, homoscedasticity
@@gemini1404 For mediating using bootstrapping approach there is no assumption on normality (no assumption on the distribution of the data).
@@SciRes also, would be grateful if you could tell me if there's a difference between meditation analysis as used in regression and mediation in SEM?
@@gemini1404 The concept is the same. Watch this please: ua-cam.com/video/eTLCZDat-_Q/v-deo.html
Dr. Can you please share some of your papers where you use the quasi significant please? to refer to them
See this please: link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10834-020-09674-z
And this: Sharif, S. P. (2017). Locus of control, quality of life, anxiety, and depression among Malaysian breast cancer patients: The mediating role of uncertainty. European Journal of Oncology Nursing, 27, 28-35.
Thanks for the video. I have a situation like this. In mediation analysis, ab is insignificant which as I understand means there is no indirect relationship (direct relationship is significant). But when I test a and b independently they are both significant. How do I interpret such results?
Thank you Sir, I have sent you an email. I would be really grateful if you could respond to it
