LOL I usually am, too! But I already had an NRFB version of that doll and this one had a damaged box so was bought to open... but yes, I am still freaked out as I'm afraid I might break one of those Talking dolls with their now-fragile limbs!
@@fashiondolldreamer yes, especially the clothing. prices have skyrocketed on those thanks to the runaway spending people did during 2020 with all their "free" money in the USA. The only thing i don't like are the rubber legs. I'm so thankful for the FAshionistas bodies with the jointed knees (pretty V2 knees, not the first wave) and the MTM bodies, IF i can fully clothe them (they are ugly)

Hi there! Yes, most of them do stop talking, due to the rubber band inside the talking mechanism disintegrating over time, unfortunately... They can be repaired, and I envy the people who can do it as it is way too complex for me. (Though I have a talking Stacey bought from a person who claims that her mother pulled her string every few days for over 50 years (!!!) and I am happy to report that she still talks loud and clear.... but for how much longer, I don't know...)
LOL, they are like that, aren't they? I remember in the vintage TV ads they would say 'look for the tag to show it's a genuine Mattel doll." I guess so they could differentiate them from all the lookalike clones that were around back then!

i bought that booklet at a Flea Market in the 80s and drooled over it every day! I wish i had everything in that particular booklet!!!
