This really needs more views. Thanks for thoroughly analyzing these games and both talking about them on their own merits and within the environment. It makes me appreciate Nintendo and Sega more, and it's cool that Sega and Nintendo collaborated. It was engaging to watch and listen to and I got a full, clean learning experience.
If you made the Gamecube Forever series (or whatever you're calling it now) into a mostly complete retrospective on the entire system's library, in the style of Jeremy Parish, I would be super into it.
Honestly this series is great and it makes me regret not subbing IAmGames when you originally announced it. I'm glad you chose to give up on cross-marketing and upload all of these to digibro main because I might not have been convinced to see this otherwise. I hope it's not too late to convince you to complete the entire series on every GC game. It's also my favorite console of all time and watching this is making me want to power up the silver version of the console my wife got me for my birthday.
Wait I actually enjoyed this more than any of your other gaming content, it was good hearing your personal experiences and passion about the GameCube, more pls
Seeng your particular critical dialect on something outside of your wheelhouse, particularly something that has a lot of nostalgic appeal for me (being a recovering Nintendo fanboy myself) is immensely interesting and entertaining. I would *love* to see this series pursued further, at least to include the US launch titles as well, if not more of the Gamecube's whole library in general. In short: love this, please make more.
@@Japanimepop Geoff, a Super Monkey Ball speedrunner. His twitch is aptly named Geoff. I think it's safe to say he knows quite a bit about the game, considering he's 28th in beginner according to speedrun.com, 14th in advanced, and 25th in expert.
Just thought I’d point out that as far as I’m aware, the super Mario Brothers super show was the first instance Luigi was portrayed as a coward. Luigi’s mansion just decided to make that cannon.
oh another piece of advice: keep your main channel videos short unless they're the usual main-channel content. that way these other videos are more like a hold-you-over snack between your anime content. Just break them up at least, so we can more easily keep track of and consume the content. usually if a video is more than 20 minutes, I'll watch part and never come back to it because it shows up as already watched, and you have so many videos I lose track of what I have and haven't seen. divide and conquer, Digi, that's how we need to tackle your after dark content if it's going to be a main channel thing without killing your sub count.
for example, you could have kept these 3 games separated like on your I AM GAMES channel and changed the title to "A Thorough Analysis of GameCube Launch Titles: Wave Race" and then just change the video game titles accordingly. then it seems like a mini series and we can keep track of it categorically and more easily consume it. plus it's harder to share longer content because it's less likely the entire thing is something that person wants to share. for example, most people buy individual tracks instead of entire albums.
I may just make a video response/reaction to your decision to bring off-channel content to your main audience. I want to help if possible, and maybe my take on this will give you new ideas, even if it's not very likely.
i played monkey ball in an arcade once, and it was just a ball that you had to roll with your hands, and there were no stages, only one map. you had to go as fast as possible down a ramp, so just pushing the sphere controller really fast down the ramp and see how far you got, however far you got gave you however many tickets you deserved for getting that far
luigis mansion is still a great game but it is hard to go back to when you have 100% it twice, im hoping the third one is better the dark moon which felt too cryptic and not as memorable
I guess I can just assume this series is dead, which is such a shame cause the idea of you reviewing all the Gamecube games excited me so much. I know you got the Anime Alphabet as your focus at the moment but this was just such a good video and would of been a great series.
5:17 sounds hella salty Devil May Cry 1's average playtime (and my own) is 6 hours. 5 hours is believable, but I'd find it exceedingly difficult to find anybody who can finish DMC1 in 2 hours on their first playthrough. Also, I have no idea what kind of value there is in NG+/multiple playthroughs of Luigi's Mansion, but in Devil May Cry, finishing it on normal unlocks hard, and finishing it on hard unlocks Dante Must Die. Each subsequent difficulty is substantial as not only numbers are adjusted but also enemy moves and placements: cutting out the fodder enemies and subjecting you to minibosses sooner/more frequently. Again, I do not have experience with Luigi's Mansion so I will not try to compare it's replay value with DMC, but I will say even DMC1 has solid replay value, especially when the core, most satisfying/fun part of the game is the combat itself. If the sequels didn't exist to vastly improve upon it, I reckon people would still be replaying it just to get that sweet progenitive character action feel. I recommend the site howlongtobeat.com for average playthrough time estimates. The sample sizes may be small, but at least they *are* samples.
The Launch Game "Luigi's Mansion" Is Not A Lauch Title For The Nintendo GameCube! I Swear! I Saw Fans' Reaction To The Promotional Depressed Luigi Scene From The Spaceworld 2000 Luigi's Mansion Tech Demo!
You'd call Super Mario Sunshine a sequel to 64? ... That's the first I've heard that... you need a stronger thesis. "reviewing three games because they were launch titles" isn't very compelling. If I'm gonna watch a review for a ~20 year old game, it's because the reviewer has something specific to say about it that is relevant today
The idea is that he's reviewing every GameCube game more-or-less in order of release. These were originally released as 3 separate videos on the I Am Games channel but he's combined them into one video to re-upload here.
So instead of uploading a proper Anime analysis, you are just gonna fill this channel with garbage to further your theory that UA-cam has some kind of vendetta against you? Ok then
He said his channel is out of the youtube algorithm that doesn't mean youtube has a vendetta against him. It's means his channel isn't popular enough to incentivize youtube showing his videos to all his subscribers. idiot.
The Wave Race series is the closest you'll ever get to experiencing what it's like to be on the front a Caprisun pouch.

Uploads a through videogame analysis video that's better than anything else on youtube.
Thank you for making this a series

23:00 F-Zero GX and Super Monkey Ball run on basically the same engine.
I think that making some minor tweaks to the video's aesthetic or presentation might catch the interest of your main channel audience more.
Like?
Actually, in Super Monkey Ball you control the ball, the level tilting is just a visual effect.

No Rogue Squadron? That game consumed a massive amount of my time when I got a GameCube at launch.
The US launch came a few months after the Japanese one--they only had these 3 games at initial launch.
