Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach, I have reservations but can find a great UA-cam review.
Do the Modern, looks like at the end of this video you were there! Not sure if it is still a hotel or if it has gone all time share rentals. It used to be connected to and a part of the Ilikai back in the day. There were three main properties that the Ilikai owned and operated, that bridge behind you at 15:39 used to connect their second and third building. Those two have been split up and are now stand alone properties but the bridge still connects them and is maintained and quite a work of art itself.
Would love to see the Alohalani hotel.
I’ve stayed here many times. It’s probably the best value in Waikiki. No where else can you get a large, updated condo space with a full kitchen and huge Lanai and an ocean view for the price. The Hotel units are beautiful. Private condo rentals can vary in their condition. But I’ve most often rented through one of the large reputable private management companies operating in the building and my units have always been very nicely maintained and remodeled. The building has a lot of amenities & great restaurant. Looking forward to watching your video.

Stayed here in April for 9 nights and staying here again in February for our wedding. Booked through Waikiki Beach Rentals. Its so much more affordable to stay here compared to the big resorts. I highly recommend people check this place out if on a budget.

Can't wait, this hotel is not a big resort style hotel (which is why we love it) but it has been home once or twice a year for the past several!

Great video and yes it is a little old around the edges as it was the first high rise hotel built on Waikiki but is still just as fascinating as it always was and very low key compared to other resorts. The property has quite the history associated with it too. Love it and it is home when I visit the Island.

I booked my condos through Hawaii Vacation Properties LLC. Kat and her staff were excellent including the cleaning staff. The best part was I didn't have to leave my condo for an stunning Hawaiian sunset! Tip - make sure you book on the sunset, marina side of the Ilikai.
We love the Ilikai! Outdated furniture doesn’t”t bother us, just the hard mattresse, the too low for comfort commode & the balcony furniture was abit uncomfortable. We dealt with it bc the beauty, the staff, the landscaping, the open-air lobby, the peaceful surroundings & the location outweighs any trouble spots! I need to mention the elegant rooftop (Pesca) restaurant is amazing! The staff is A+, the food is delicious & the ambience is lovely as is the ceiling to floor windows with a gorgeous view.

As a Kama'aina, I liked staying at the Ilikai. You're right about Cinnamon's Restaurant there. I prefer their original location in Kailua with very friendly service and food quality is way better.

Luv the channel and the walk thrus! I've stayed at the Ilikai a few times and pretty much agree with everything said here. The Waikiki Marina Resort office handles the check-in and activity bookings for timeshare guests as opposed to the main hotel's check-in/concierge services.

I stayed there in 1968! When my father was stationed there after retuning from Vietnam. What a GREAT place to live foe 4 years while growing up.

@@Livingtheglobe no, unfortunately. My In-Laws still have a house in Kialua. My wife’s sister’s & brothers have been back. My In-Laws were also stationed there at Hickam AFB 1969-1973 as well.

I am a real state broker in Oregon for 26 years and I come to Hawaii 2 times ayear. I can see you and your partner have the ability to be great real estate agents. You really should look into that. You already have followers. Another option is to manage condos and Air B&B's.
If you manage 3 Air B&B's condos and charge owners for it that
would give you the same income as if you owned one of these condos.and rented it.
You could look into that. There are many condos in Oahu. Just research it online. Good luck❤❤

I have happy memories of this hotel, as a kid in the 70's we stayed here as a family. Wonderful memories of the elevator up to the top floor restaurant. I am coming out in December and want to stay here. I have never booked through Air BNB but open to suggestions and info for booking here. Thank you!
They have this hotel on other booking sites as well. You can even call them directly and ask what units they have for your data. Maybe you can save on booking fees

I prefer the Hale Koa. 🤙🌺
I have stayed both at the Ilikai and at Hale Koa and I WAY prefer the Hale Koa, but its not really a fair comparison given that not everyone can stay at Hale Koa. Hale Koa is really a beautiful resort on the deepest beach on Waikiki. A great deal for military families, both active and retired.
Yes that hotel is kind of old my parents stay there for their honeymoon back in 1957 and I think that's the hotel they made the original Five-O with Jack Lord out of the balcony but it's in a good location

It was built in 1964 and opened in 1965. So if your parents honeymoon was 1957, it was a different building. But yes, this building was in in opening scenes of both the new and original Hawaii Five-O and many episodes in the original series were filmed there.
I am staying there in December for a day and a half before our cruise takes off. did you rent a car or use uber to get there from the airport? how much do they charge for over night stay?

Hi JBO! Love this channel. We stayed here last May. Property-Old and Dirty. Carpets dirty. Cockroach found in bed. Location just ok. A bit far from the action on Waikiki Street. Hotel GM yelling at our Tour pickup driver for parking where all other shuttles park to pick up tourists by the flag pole. Not sure why our driver got picked on. My kids were traumatized. Parking Staff angry at me for getting lost at the underground parking when I asked how to get back to the street. Elevator broke during our stay causing delay for Shuttle pick up to airport. We were considered a No show. Had to take Uber to airport during peak hours that cost $180 dollars. At least we were in Hawaii...

I would not stay here based on the marina view and it being a condo/ hotel mix. It being dated, no renovations no thanks.
