the ultratech is my most-carried knife, i've owned 2 double edge partially serrated (gave one away as a gift) so I'm really looking forward to this new one.
My UTX85 failed like crazy and broke 2 springs, went back 2 times because the back of the aluminum rubs the blade, slowing it down. I was not likely to buy another MT until I got my Cypher 2. It's been excellent, so apparently, my x85 is just a lemon:)
I have a UTX-85 made in 2010 and it has almost no blade play. You guys invented this technology a long time ago. Everything new is well forgotten old :)
Love the luminary but just an objective feedback… it was shipped to me during hot weather. The case was very warm as well as the knife itself. It wouldn’t lock open at first, which had me concerned at first. As it cooled down, it worked fine and hasn’t had a failure to lock since then… aside from a couple times when I deployed it during my arm swinging. I think the momentum was disrupted just enough to disturb the blade travel from locking it.
6:43 it looks like an Interceptor, but I'm not sure if that's the standard grey aluminium handle. It looks great, but it really like the aged Titanium look that my Glykon has - if they could do the chassis in the same weathered Ti, that would be off the charts.
I want to update the pocket clip on my Dirac Delta D/E. Those new clips look so much better than the stamped steel version. It would be nice if that could be something we could do ourselves. The clip is only held in place by the glass breaker and could be an easy swamp.
If you're changing the MicroTech lineup to incorporate the zero play feature, then you should change the model name so customers can understand. Example UTX-851
I like hearing them talk about testing the knife. That’s something Anthony jr could learn a thing about. The heretic wraith v4’s button is garbage unless he’s quietly fixed it since the first production run of the glow carbon limited edition. Funny thing is, I’m not the only one complaining about how bad that button sticks. It doesn’t feel like it was tested at all. The only goal was making the strongest out the side automatic possible. I think they may have accomplished it, with the trade off of a working button. Gotta love having an ots automatic that you can press the button and it’s like a time delay release because of the button stick. Who knows how long that delay is going to take too, just don’t take your hands off a secure grip or it’ll go flying. I made that mistake already
I’m still debating between a Ultratech or a Combat Troodon. The Ultratech has done so well and hits a spot with its size and the CT may be a bit big. But them again the CT just looks and feels great.
I just got a Makora and it’s basically an UT dressed up a little. Have at least 4 other UT’s and I prefer the Makora now. Though my absolute favorite MT is my Glykon. Things a beast!
Blade play is a problem because it affects the fragility of the blade. Glad you guys finally fixed it because it's a shame for such great knives as microtech to have blade play
What do we do with the ones that have blade play, which I asked about from day one when I received it. Could not cut leather without the blade moving?? How about a trade in option of some sort??? Thank you! Still waiting for a response from Microtech??????
I'm gun shy on Microtech after trying to order a simple screw years ago. Perhaps the customer service has improved since then, but $400 knives, missing screws and less than ideal service still gives me pause.
I’ve got 30 ultratechs and now you make them with a smooth easy switch and no blade play! Is there anyway to r Retrofit the new mechanism into the last version ultratechs ?
Hopefully they’re better than the previous ones. All of my Microtechs stopped working properly. I used compressed air to clean them and light oil but no luck. All of them eventually lose the ability to deploy and retract properly. Expensive paper weights at this point.
I'm sorry but I don't believe you. If you truly did spray and soak the insides of your D/As with Rem spray and blew them out with compressed air, and you said multiple real Microtechs this has happened to!!?? You are either lying or you have clones or fakes, or you're the most unlucky person in the world. If they are real, why didn't you send them in to get them inspected? It cost next to nothing?
You can send them in to microtech and they will fix them. I dropped my on the tip of the blade as it was deployed. They fixed it, fixed the blade and sharpened it And sent me a microtech patch. I think they’re pretty fair.
I’ll buy them. I know any large manufacturer will have issues, but not that many to one person. I have one from 02 and another from 08. Both have survived hell and back with me. I have sharpened one tan to so much in the field it became a standard and narrow. New blade when home and off and going. Both are retired and put up for my kids. I just retired the 08 2 weeks ago and carrying an older Surefire knife until I get another one.
I love Microtech.
Just bought the mini Hera...
Been saving for the bigboy.
In 2 weeks I will have enough.🙏
Can't wait to get one in a color other than black in almost 2 years
It’s like two Billy Bob Thorntons talking to each other. Is this the twilight zone? 😂 can’t wait for this!
Holy hell 😅
Finally! I’ve been waiting for this! Thank you so much!
Love the passion Tony has when speaking about the redesign!
Yeah, you can see he really enjoys what he creates, fantastic.
So jealous of people who get rich doing something they love. I would give almost anything to have that.
I really wish they did pre-orders. I've been patiently waiting for the new knives and have been itching to buy a full sized blade
Cant wait for the torture test video!
Microtech's are my go to every day. My EDC 365 days per year.
the ultratech is my most-carried knife, i've owned 2 double edge partially serrated (gave one away as a gift) so I'm really looking forward to this new one.
I cant wait. I loved watching microtechs quality just keep getting better and better. So many companies its the absolute opposite
Excited for this one! So glad the chassis dropped the glossy look. Definitely getting a dual edge
Love the new gen knives! The improved action and the new style pocket clip are fantastic. Really looking forward to the new Ultratech drop.
Awesome. Looking forward to this model. Congrats on making such a thing at a good price!
Been waiting all year for this 🎉🎉🎉
Im definitely getting one at that price point thats a good deal thanks for making them more affordable you will sell way more
My UTX85 failed like crazy and broke 2 springs, went back 2 times because the back of the aluminum rubs the blade, slowing it down. I was not likely to buy another MT until I got my Cypher 2. It's been excellent, so apparently, my x85 is just a lemon:)
Any manufacturer can have a lemon. Maybe I’ve been lucky. The only lemon Ive had is a Kabar fixed blade as a kid😂
@@eriklambert3809 How'd you break a KBar? You a Marine? 🤣
Sleek modern design, American made, tough, let's go
I have a UTX-85 made in 2010 and it has almost no blade play. You guys invented this technology a long time ago. Everything new is well forgotten old :)
My wife’s ready for the step up from utx 70 I think the new Ultratech will make her stoked!! Microtech is the best! Period! 🫡💯🔥
Also check out the mini Hera, great size!
Sweet, can't wait!
Nice! Can’t wait for this technology on a Combat Troodon with a tanto!!
I've been waiting to buy one. ❤
I'm tempted by the Combat Troodon with the new drive train.
Great news ,gotta have one!!
Tony has been killing it!
I can't wait.
Gonna roll down to the utx-85 too?
My dream knife. Hoping to own one, one day. 🤞

Will the new model be available on the service personnel program?
Awesome!!!!
man I sure am glad you didnt say this would release shortly after Bladeshow months and months ago
They fooled me with that one😂 I’ve been refreshing bladehq for the past few months hoping it finally came out
Did Tony flash us a very custom Combat troodon? Looks totally sick, 100% apocalyptic Ti finish?? Schweeeet!
6:43 it looks like an Interceptor, but I'm not sure if that's the standard grey aluminium handle. It looks great, but it really like the aged Titanium look that my Glykon has - if they could do the chassis in the same weathered Ti, that would be off the charts.
Will these be single edge on release? Not a dagger guy here….
lol you mentioned it later on in the video… can’t wait
I would love an answer to this. Double edge isn't legal here. Yet.
YES!!! FINALLY NOT spending $1k+ on a deadlock.
Hi I'm Darrell and this is my brother Darryl... 😂
I want to update the pocket clip on my Dirac Delta D/E.
Those new clips look so much better than the stamped steel version.
It would be nice if that could be something we could do ourselves. The clip is only held in place by the glass breaker and could be an easy swamp.
Plus those old clips would rub off the anodized aluminum
Hell yeah can’t wait to get one
The deployment seems so effortless compared to my really stiff UTX-85
It would be really nice if they showed us the knife and specs instead of blahblahblaw
What models / skus have the zero blade play upgrade??
If you're changing the MicroTech lineup to incorporate the zero play feature, then you should change the model name so customers can understand. Example UTX-851

Sick … really cool
Awesome no blade play! Now you can charge $800 instead of $675

Nice. It’s on my list. Any idea when you guys are going to do the double edge scarab?
Was wondering why some places are puttin* them on sale!
How much are they listing the knife for?
What sites?
Please confirm at some point (not that it is no presumable, but anyway) if and WHEN the Zero play will hit the rest of the OTF models.
Blade play is a problem because it affects the fragility of the blade. Glad you guys finally fixed it because it's a shame for such great knives as microtech to have blade play
Damnit. I just got a new cypher a few months ago.
Is this going to be on service personnel?
What do we do with the ones that have blade play, which I asked about from day one when I received it. Could not cut leather without the blade moving?? How about a trade in option of some sort??? Thank you! Still waiting for a response from Microtech??????
What’s the price point on the Luminary?
Magnacut, please 🙏
Is the new combat troodon zero blade play too?
Not yet, it’s got a great drive train and all sorts of other new features just not zero blade play.
If I want to carry this in public in Michigan, it has to be a single edge.
Absolutely the finest knives on the market! Hands down.
Improve your heat treats before anything else maybe?
Hello i need an all black partially serrated version or top serrated d/e please
I'm gun shy on Microtech after trying to order a simple screw years ago. Perhaps the customer service has improved since then, but $400 knives, missing screws and less than ideal service still gives me pause.
Anyone in the comments know how good microtechs warranty is? I have a 1 year old UTX-85 and the springs broke.
I’m excited. Hope you made more than just black.
Cool now make a CA Legal version 🥹
Halo plz Tony!
Is it only eleventy thousand dollars?!
Need a FRAG DLC T/E =)
New halo model when?
I feel like I caught Covid watching this.
cool, since I can't drop 3K on a deadlock
I’ve got 30 ultratechs and now you make them with a smooth easy switch and no blade play! Is there anyway to r
Retrofit the new mechanism into the last version ultratechs ?
No. Not even remotely.
😅 big dreams
Still waiting
Unreal that it's under 400. I'll take two!
HALO ?
Sub $400 is a great fair price
Hopefully they’re better than the previous ones. All of my Microtechs stopped working properly. I used compressed air to clean them and light oil but no luck. All of them eventually lose the ability to deploy and retract properly. Expensive paper weights at this point.
My local knife store sharpens and cleans them for free.

Yeah, I got my money back for my new Hera 2. The deployment was fucked. BladeHQ gave a a refund

You wouldn't buy a hollow handle knife, would you. This isn't full tang.
So it's NOT ZERO like you have in the title? LOL
Torture test time 😈😈😈😈😈😈
Finally what took so long?
CA SUCKS!
Are you guys in Hawaii?! You know those are not legal there and they are pricks about it.
You must be fun at parties
