Subaru SG Forester 2005 Driver Window Master Switch & Motor Replacement

In this episode I replace the drivers side power window master switch and window motor.
I purchased preowned parts from a local automotive parts recycler which saved some costs over purchasing new genuine Subaru parts.

Great job! Thanks for the making the video. I just fixed mine last week after a ton of research. Wasn't quite as hard as I expected, which was nice. Good suggestion on replacing the window switches as well.

Thank you for your comments Daniel. I guess as a community we all help each other sharing our experiences. My method worked for me but in other instances, it could be more beneficial to remove the window regulator. (which I wanted to avoid).

Where's the fuse for the power windows? I can't find my manual and I can't find any info online about it.

That's a good question. I can't see it listed in the fuse box inside, it might be in the under hood fuse/relay box. I've just moved house and can't find my manual. There might be something under the hood for the power windows.

@@pinzone4358 I've checked the fuse box under the hood but find nothing. I find this very strange and frustrating. Should be obvious.

@@ingolfurarnar697 I found my repair manual for my Forester, it says there is a circuit breaker and a fuse to protect the circuit. Each window motor also has it's own circuit breaker. Depending on the problem you are having, it could be any of those protective devices at fault, or even a faulty relay, or switches, connectors or wiring. There is also the power window lock button you should check if it is on or off.
