Due to the rapid development of technologies, a lot of advanced AI skills have been introduced to daily life. There is a company which has led the care service industry based on the cutting-edge AI skills.
It is AVAdin, which has achieved growth by releasing intelligent robots and mobile service platforms. “AVAdin Robot” for the elderly who live alone as well as “AVAdin Friends,” which looks like a mobile phone stand are the major products of the company. It can be a companion to talk to. And it can check if seniors had their meals and medicines as well as help them exercise and have video calls with family members.
Due to the super-aged society and the growing number of seniors who live alone, the company developed technologies that can satisfy the needs of the elderly. When the elderly request for help in case of emergency, it can send information to caregivers.

‘아바딘’은 어르신 돌봄을 위한 지능형 로봇과 모바일 서비스 플랫폼을 개발하는 기업이다. 대표 제품은 혼자 지내시는 어르신들을 위한 인공지능 반려봇 ‘다솜’과 스마트폰 거치대 형태를 띠고 있는 ‘아바딘 프렌즈’다. 어르신들을 위해 말벗이 되고 식사와 복약, 운동까지 챙겨주는 돌봄 서비스를 제공한다.
초고령화 사회와 1인 가구 시대 등 사회가 예전과는 다르게 변화하면서 가족 없이 혼자 사는 독거노인들이 필요로 하는 니즈를 파악하여 기술을 개발하였다. ‘다솜’의 주요 기능은 어르신이 장시간 움직임이 없거나, 긴급 상황일 때 SOS를 보내면 보호자에게 위험 상황을 알려줄 수 있는 응급 서비스 기능이다.
‘아바딘 프렌즈’는 안 쓰는 구형 스마트폰을 이용해 ‘다솜’과 비슷한 서비스를 받을 수 있어, 비교적 가격대가 높은 ‘다솜’보다 저렴하게 사용할 수 있다.
