Good work there by Joe, the 205 is coming along. The improv parcel shelf is actually a really good solution. Nice to see it was kept in the PSA group too. That rust on the inner wing was rather spectacular but it has been repaired neatly. He made the right choice outsourcing it to someone who knows how to weld it, safety should always come before DIY pride 👍 great video 😁
I just stumbled across these videos and your guys channel, and i really like them, my mom had a Red 3 Door Peugeot 205 XSD with the 1.9l Diesel with 63-64hp, manual sunroof, Devil rear muffler and slightly turned up Diesel Pump in the 90s, it was her first new car and i am planning on making one of them into my first car as well. Well, either that or a Citroen BX or Xantia.
I got the 205's larger, rarer and somehow cheaper sister, a 309. And even though mine is a petrol engine and very few components are actually shared across these two cars I still learned a ton that will help me fixing my car. Though something I will have to disagree on is the Peugeot's rust tendency. I don't think there are any better rust-proofed cars from the 1980's than Peugeots and Citroens. Just compare them to Volkswagens or Vauxhalls/Opels or god forbid, Fords of the same era.
French cars have been the most rust-proof in general since the early 80's in my experience. If this 205 was born as a Fiesta/Polo/Corsa it wouldn't be around any more.
My mate had the petrol version of this 205 back in the day; the yellow peril 😁 was eventually stolen in Glasgow city centre and never seen again... i have recently bought my old sorrento green gti back, after 15 years and 8 owners 🙂
If thinners melt you they must be slow acting because I've been wiping grease off my hands with various thinners for the last 45 years and I still have hands.
There are literally ZERO reasons for this project being done this way... For example, I've been around 3d printed stuff, that gear knob will feel horrible in hands for a long period of time because of its roughness... The face of the car was not really mended and it still looks very errr... Beaten up... There is a reason for human progress... People want to have better and more sensible and comfortable things in their lives... An XUD powered, bottom specced, +200k, basically dead, yellow colored old 205 PUG is not cool nor is it practical... Its not any normal teen dream daily car... Its not any sensible persons dream car. It can be cool and nice from historic POV, if restored properly to original "like-new" state... This? Its a pile of sort of cheap junk being restored the cheapskate muppet way (except for that rust repair which was done sort of nicely) for no reason at all... Its just... Pointless...
Yes, we DO mean mild steel, not aluminium. We must tell Joe not to edit these videos at 10pm...
Sounded like magic ha 🤣
even Captain Clueless here heard Joe say that and thought eh?????
Make Joe take his chair out into the playground and stand on it.

Love these small Croissants. Very mechanical but simple. They're simply bulletproof if looked after well!
7:35 that parcel shelf is a crimescene man. lol
Love this little car and it's great to see the on going improvements!

Thanks for watching! All are great choices, just make sure if you buy a 205, it isn't as rusty as Joe's...
@@ClassicsWorldUK yea, that's one of the biggest problems i have finding a decend one, plus the fact that i want one with the big Manual Sunroof.
That man could make an absolute fortune if he can weld steel to aluminium 🤪

Y because Peugeot was the first manufacturer to try and design their cars to avoid rust traps. So 205s were generally very good for the era.
That's a good way to assure good quality work done on your car by recording everything with a camera.
Aluminium sheet ?! I don`t think so, the body is steel which is why it rotted.

I just scrapped my 205 the top mount and engine mount got bent from rust as I left it and left it and drove the thing into the floor.
“Aluminium sheet”? Come on, man!
🤦♂️
love the content keep it up ❤
I used to have a 205 a long time ago and I loved it
They're an easy car to love!
Your parcel shelf hack is….. a bit rubbish 😂🤦♂️👌 love it.
Yes, I would have made one out of thin plywood or something similar and possibly covered it with stretch automotive carpet

I would have loved to see you make a tutorial on how to replace the dashboard light.
Hey if you take the dash apart and how they go back right please doesn’t matter if you can’t
Surely mild steel sheet?
We do indeed mean mild steel! We must tell Joe not to edit these at 10PM...
@@ClassicsWorldUK he does a good job!
Check nearside probably the same
problem is the mud is wet or damp most of the year in england!
A parcelshelf from a Peugeot 106/ Citroen Saxo will also fit a 205.
That shelf though!!! Ahahahahahahahahah…
You wanted to see the rot and bodged welding on your old golf mk3 gti that we've just repaired 🙈
What is "thinners"
How much did the welding cost?
Looking in June 2022 and it's not has expired. Kinda sad.
Ford fair lol #teashirt
Hello Ithere I was wondering would any one have a 1.8 d 205 engine my youtube channel has a video of the car cheers by the way great repair on the 205
Looks like your MOT's expired again!

Keeping thinners in a water bottle, come on!!!
