@@backyardsnackyard just thinking that if it's got one branch alive then surely the main trunk us alive lower down ? I've cut fruit trees back to 6 inches above the graft and they've completely recovered but it's a gamble 😁
Lovely little plant, Dani. Such a shame your other one has died back 😢. My 'Little Vic' plumb produced one fruit this year, but it ended up splitting and going to waste. I repotted the plant, so I hope it might produce a few more next year 🤞
Yeah plums, most people only know plums from the store and nothing beats eating plums ripe from the tree. It's like day and night the difference in taste.
So true!! I find the same can be said of apples. I never used to be too fond of Golden Delicious until I tasted one straight off my tree. They are so full of flavour, especially on a sunny day.
Sorry about your plant getting destroyed. Not cool. Get the old one out and away from your new one. If the old one has an infection of some kind, it could pass it to your new one. Best, JJ
That's a good point. I was going to do a big Autumn tidy up last weekend, but the weather got in the way...hopefully this coming weekend will be better🤞
@@backyardsnackyard Sorry about those typos. Autocorrect on my phone causes more mistakes than it solves. Some weird stuff sometimes, too. I don't get it. A thought about your old tree, too. Is it a different variety than your new one? If it is, you could also clip the best branch still left, give it a good cleaning, then graft it onto your new one. You'll get the best of both worlds, that way. Plus, with two varieties on one tree, cross pollination is almost assured. This late in the year, bud grafts still take. Best, JJ (It's easy to do. I can talk you through it, if you like?)
@@JJLom777I don't pay any attention to typos, but they really are so annoying. The worst thing for me is when autocorrect randomly adds apostrophes. It changed 'roses' to 'Rose's' recently 😵 I do need to practice grafting as I would love to feel confident enough to buy some scions of named Pawpaw cultivars and graft them onto my little trees...I'll have a proper look at the Plum Tree before getting rid of it, but it really does look dead.
@@backyardsnackyard I would mail you some. But, I'm pretty sure mailing plant tissues across national boundaries is a thing. Oh, well. Whatcha gonna do? 😊
Thank you for sharing for pretty tree👍🌷🌿💜❤️🌷🌿🌿🌱
Aw, many thanks for watching!
Nice little addition to your backyard Dani, should do great in Spring. I suspect your other one will grow back as well 🤞
Do you think? It looks really dead...

@@lyonheart84 that is very true. They can be surprisingly resilient.
Lovely and healthy plant Dani🌱
Thank you. I'm really happy with it. I need to get it settled in...the weather keeps getting in the way of gardening 😁

If it's anything like my dead one, you could soon have a big bunch to pick. They really are so delicious!

@@JJLom777 yes - it has become really difficult to get plants (including Pawpaws) since Brexit as the UK borders are suddenly really strict.
