On July 6, 1942, Anne Frank and her family took refuge in an Amsterdam warehouse fearing deportation to a Nazi concentration camp. The secret annex was behind a movable bookcase. However, on 4th August 1944, the Frank family and the others who were hiding were discovered and arrested.
The 13-year-old diarist wrote about her daily experiences while in hiding during the Holocaust. The book “The Diary of Anne Frank” was published in 1947 and was translated into almost 70 languages.
