hoosier3060 I know the part about the refs, but you also gotta consider that Portland had chances. I’m pretty sure they only had like 4 points in the first 8 minutes of the quarter which is pretty terrible, whether or not the refs are for/against you
So obvious. Mind boggling that people can’t see it. Hey, it’s a business... I’m not hating on the NBA. Just on the people who fail to see the obvious. And I sure as heck find Shaq more entertaining than the big man from Portland, Sabonus ... or however it’s spelled. So, I can’t blame them.
Really appreciate this vid. I always felt like this team was robbed. NBA used to be really rigged & the deck was really stacked against the Blazers but David Stern was not having these guys representing the league. They were a rough bunch. The type of guys Stern tried so hard to get rid of plus Stern just loved the Hollywood Lakers. The calls were ridiculous & Sabonis was a problem for Shaq getting him out was a big game changer as well

I was at this game. It was the best game for us Laker fans. I remember Shaw sinking 3's, Shaq making free throws, and Portland throwing up bricks. The 4th quarter was electric, and that last Kobe-Shaq alley-oop was magic!
This game broke my heart. I've have never been more emotional at a finish to a game more in my lifetime. But the basketball gods weren't on the blazers side. The amount of shots that went halfway down and then popped out and the refs gave the lakers 6 points on bad calls
Not a blazers fan and the refs gave them far more than that. Not a kings fan and they received the same treatment as Portland. Bad calls happen, it’s part of the game and isn’t usually such a deciding factor but those lakers teams benefited from some really awful officiating, it was egregious!
Portland and Sacramento both deserved far better. Lakers fans have no right to ever complain about officiating, things are so rigged in their favor it’s egregious
Yeah, and those 2 titles are "Biggest Losers" & "Greatest Choke". & you're right, those two titles go to the Kings & Blazers every decade at some point!!
Personalities have gotten nastier and more aggressive now, to my dismay. The game itself had more physicality to it before, with hand-checking & rugged paint play. Although you didn't ever usually get ejected for starring at a ref in any era, Rasheed was clearly doing it to try an intimidate the ref in a bully fashion, already had a technical for something else, and had already been warned previously in this game to not do that.

Pronto
But it just happened give it some time
Jon_Gotteiner yeah and make sure to rewind all those steps he took before he finally dribbled too 🤷🏾♂️
There was so much that happened before that shot not only to Kawhi but that raptors 76ers rivalry!!
Along with Corner Taken Quickly.
Yesss!!!!finally!!!/ Been waiting forever for you to do this!!! So happy as a lakers fan!!
Rasheed said Dunleavy calling that last time out screwed their momentum and gave the Lakers time to regroup
Sheed don't lie.
THIS CHANNEL IS JUST AMAZING
When the Monstars steal the Trail Blazer’s talents in the 4th quarter
“Refs”
Rewinder is just the best
Damn I usually know my stuff but I didn’t know the Lakers missed 6 free throws in the last 40 seconds. Portland really blew this.
Supermariohoops24 the refs horsefucked em
hoosier3060 I know the part about the refs, but you also gotta consider that Portland had chances. I’m pretty sure they only had like 4 points in the first 8 minutes of the quarter which is pretty terrible, whether or not the refs are for/against you
Those old Blazers unis though, fantastic
The NBA needed the Shaq Kobe dynasty to start. The ratings had cratered after Jordan left and the Spurs won in 1999.
88smjls hence why they rigged all those lakers series
@@allthesmallthings1041 yup
Yeah they really did that 2002 Kings series was the all time rig job. I’m surprised there wasn’t an investigation into that.
88smjls there was, by the FBI
Thank you for another great entry in this series.
The calls were ridiculous & Sabonis was a problem for Shaq getting him out was a big game changer as well
It still is today. The whole 23 WCF felt like Nuggets was doing 5 VS 8 against LeFraud.
@@TellenJones classic Jordan cockrider
This is one of my favorite playoff series' of all time
THIS JUST LIKE LAKERS VS KINGS ... REFS HANDED LAKERS THE GAME.
No they didn't. Blazers shot more free throws in the other games, wouldn't have happened if they cared to rig it.
Everybody has to just be jealous and make excuses
I am a Portland native and was 12 years old when this game was played. I watched it live, and it is such a vivid memory, such an intense heartbreak... still makes me sick to this day. Ugh...... great video though :-(
A series with John Salley, Scottie Pippen, and Phil Jackson. Rasheed Wallace facing the Lakers.
...But no team in this series was named the Bulls or Pistons.
What a world.
don't forget ron harper ...also rodman was on the lakers that season before as well again not on the pistons or bulls lol ..and mj was retired the knicks were in the east finals...what a time
Rodman was on season before.
Man I loved this blazers...
I was at this game. It was the best game for us Laker fans. I remember Shaw sinking 3's, Shaq making free throws, and Portland throwing up bricks. The 4th quarter was electric, and that last Kobe-Shaq alley-oop was magic!
Your way to tell this stories is amazing
Didn't know I needed this.
Every decade there are at least 2 titles that the NBA gives to a team. Kings and Blazers got absolutely robbed during the Stern-Donaghy era
Don’t forget the Mavs and the Suns
Yeah, and those 2 titles are "Biggest Losers" & "Greatest Choke". & you're right, those two titles go to the Kings & Blazers every decade at some point!!
"Given" in 2000 is completely wrong. Shaq was also in foul trouble in that same game 7 but the Blazers still lost. Don't blame the whistle in 2000.
@@lurchlogan Lakers fans so delusional and entitled
Laker fans acting like yankee fans
That wAs a crazy ending. Great video
Any of the 49ers "Catches" that won Playoff games would be perfect for this series
Gosh, I remember watching this moment on tv so vividly! It wasn't even the finals but everyone knew at this point L.A. was winning the chip :-)
old heads: “the league is soft nowadays”
but gets a technical for staring 🤦🏿♂️
antony gonzales maybe more to it my guy
I give that tech 7 Joeys.
If you look in to it and see how hard sheed was on the refs, that would tell you why the league is so soft now.
@@hansmransm8835 But Sheed wasn't soft at all, his mouth was dirty, and he was always trying to push the envelope, to see just how much he could get away w/ (particularly w/ the refs, as you eluded to).
That Blazers team was so great and so underrated. They really blew it
I love these!!!! Can you do Tim Duncan’s “laughing” against my mavs?
These videos are always great
“Wells got his shxt SWATTED by Kobe.” 😂
Finally waited so long.
In memory Of Kobe Bryant do a rewind of his final game and or do Beef History of him and Shaq
that would be awesome
finally u upload a rewinder
