Oh the awesome memories I have listening to these awesome vintage radio shows. Some are bittersweet...missing my dad, as we often listened to them together. One time in particular still stands out to me. We'd gone camping at the lake. It was storming, but I was tucked in snug as a bug in the camper on the back of my dad's old Chevrolet pick-up. Mom and Dad had the little transistor radio on and the storm had let up to just a light pitter-patter of rain...seemingly just in time for our show to start. That particular night it was "The Creaking Door", episode "A Room for the Night". Reminiscing I can almost hear the creak of the door...the old advertisement, the emotive actors, and the thrilling music! And I can just picture Dad and Mom relaxing, reading their books. For at least those 30 minutes all was exactly right in my 10 yr old world. Thank you so much OTR HALLOWEENHOLIDAZE for uploading and sharing these programs.

Thank you, the theater of the mind is much better than television, you can do ther things at the same time that you listen to radio although I really enjoy Four Star Playhouse from the early 50's, television. and others like it.
Another great radio show/story that beats out all the crap on tv now!! I'd trade in tv NE day to go back to great radio shows like this that made u use ur imagination & pple actually wrote letters n read books..:) thanks for posting

Does anyone know when they changed from organ music to using bands and was there any significance for the change? I prefer the organ better too. Thank you for your dedication posting these wonderful shows.

(shudders) Intensity can last so long. I much prefer a laidback guy who smiles and is fun to be around.
1949 ? wow they still have those ? I was shocked they still had the ones from the 1950s.
The sound is muffled
Wish there was a better recording. Will maybe and try and run it through a cleaner at some point.
@@OTRHALLOWEENHOLIDAZE any luck with the cleaner?
@@jusme164 will look into this week
