WOW! That push in the first game really could of gone either way, just one tiny slip up would of ended in disaster. An absolutely incredible nail biting fight to remember.

Winter's commentary in game two was just 100% on point. Can't really imagine anyone doing a better job in SC2 of making it entertaining but also having massive game knowledge.
Wow just wow. Such an action packed game. Skillous is definitely going to be a threat to contend with. Protoss may have a chance this year.
One of the best games of the year, G1 was, at least for me. That constant pushing, never knowing who will win, that's the best part of SC2 for me.

SKillous definetly is looking promising here. He's doing the counter-attacks that I keep chastizing (in the sense of some drunk old fart screaming at the TV) other Protoss players for not doing well, if at all; And it immediately shows great results. Any other Protoss loses fights like he did, and they are out of the game, however, the small counterattacks have bloodied Clem bad enough that they both needed to get back to their corners, rather than just steamrolling the Protoss like usual.
The only thing I think he could change up to get even better is to lean into Storm for similar purposes that he would lean into 'Ruptors for. And as a reminder for the Northerner mercenaries of Terrans that maybe braving the seas to raid that Greek monument might not be the best idea to follow through on.
It's a hard art to master for Protoss; their units are expensive, slow, and generally supply-intensive, so landing those counter-attacks at just the right time, in just the right way, without just wasting hundreds of minerals on basically nothing, is hard, and I don't blame Protoss for struggling with it. But, SKillous did make excellent use of counterattacks through this series, putting out the correct number of Zealots to keep Clem's attention drawn and his economy suppressed.
I love me some Storm, but EMP is just too damn good to make it truly viable in PvT. Sad!

I am curious: Why when Terran units get damaged, every unit type has a unique sound effect, while that is not the case for Zerg and Protoss?

Don't most protoss units have unique sounds?
@@TekRobo I am talking about the sound you hear when your unit is taking damage while you are not looking at it. Examples: "somebody get me out of this mess" - medivac, "it is getting too hot" - ghost, "I am in a world of hurt" - Maruder, "I am in a heap of trouble" - siege tank. And yet, there are just a couple of sounds for the Zerg - a generic for army, drones, and creep tumors. And can you recall a single Protoss sound of this type?
@@user-tb7ml8kz7h emp is literally so strong that it deletes the sound files for any protoss unit. Also even if emp didn't delete the sound files, you wouldn't hear any damage sounds because the protoss units instantly die. So we're just used to hearing the death rattle sound when toss units are not on the screen.
@@user-tb7ml8kz7h I know for certain that Zealots have "We have engaged the enemy!", Stalkers have "Fall back to the shadows!", Immortal have "The enemy is upon us!" and Adepts have something about combat... Maybe it was "Glorious combat!", but I'm not 100% on that.
As for Zerg, I think it's thematic for being a hive mind to not have unique sounds (as well as needing less money for making the game). However, they do have it on the code level (as TotalBiscuit, if I recall - Could have been Winter, pointed it out during the time he made his own voicepack) for every single unit.
Though one thing I'm confident about is that these sounds don't play when the player is looking at the fight going on.
I'm also pretty sure that the voicelines do change depending on relative unit density, though I could be wrong on that.

Damn, Skillous showing some serious... no, I think I'll just sit on the pun.
But in all seriousness, demonstrating some really strong plays. Seems to me like Skillous is more of a micro player than a macro player; really good at controlling small groups of units, zoning against drop play, making efficient use of shield batteries and target fire, and really well-timed counter-attacks. All around a really solid defensive player that can apply pressure as needed, but clearly, the more units he has, the sloppier his control gets. If he can improve on that, or else learn to capitalize on smaller, skirmish-based strategies like Byun and Dark often do, he could totally be a contender for top Protoss.

with current nerfs to all races ``cough* exept terran* ``cough`` currently strongests races are 1. terran 2. terran 3. zerg/protoss
Not even fun to watch anymore sc2 if one of players are bio terran its almost 80% terran wn already, just cuz of op effiency of terran bio army
