  • Hi! A quick one this week. As cake decorators it can be pretty hard to explain to our customers what they should do with their piece of edible art once they come to serve it. Hopefully this video will aid in showing people how they can make the most of their slices, and how to keep their figures. Feel free to share this with your clients if it helps!
You can help support my channel by simply sharing my videos, buying a cute cherry enamel pin from my online shop or shopping via my affiliate links listed in this description box. Thank you!

Ahh this is a great video to explain serving sizes to customers!
That being said if a relative ever dared to give me a slice that was any less than a slab I think we'd have to have a word! 😅 Xx

So helpful to see it being done rather than a diagram or written instructions. Thanks for taking the time to show us. Xx

Not only are you talented and artistic but you're also funny as hell. Thank you for that explanation I always thought they were just being cheap when they gave us a small serving at the wedding! LOL.

Am I the only one that thinks cake cutting should be one of the oddly satisfying categories? I love it

Can’t get over how thorough and nuts and bolts level helpful your channel is - while being beautiful, satisfying and entertaining!
I’m wondering why you don’t do carved cakes, although you do judge them, so obviously you have the skills. Do people just not order them? (Not that I’m asking for it. Your channel is perfect as it is!)

      Thank you!
I do, do the odd one, but you're right, it all comes down to what people order. Carved cakes cost more than round ones as you usually have to bake more cake to get the shape, and then spend time carving it, so sometimes it goes above people's budgets. I do have a few on my Instagram though - such as pirate ships, a 2ft skull figure head, otters, cats, Millenium Falcon, RC car etc But for most people a round cake is more within their budget :D x

I'm very much in the chocaholic category, however..... am I odd that I don't like to mix vanilla and chocolate? I like my vanilla cake with vanilla & raspberry jam and my chocolate cake with either chocolate buttercream and/or ganache, but definitely no milk/dark choc ganache on my vanilla cake or vanilla buttercream in my choc cake haha! If I'm making a tall vanilla cake I'll use white chocolate ganache :( . My personal fave though, (and I stress for personal/family cakes only) is fresh cream mmmm, delish :) Debs x x

ha ha no, I feel the same way about jam in chocolate cakes - it seems odd to me, but I know some like it! lol x

Very nice... although I prefer the smaller inner round method. I old school I guess. 😄. I understand taking off the bear brothers and top piece but why the tree? Many people would kill for a piece of fondant; myself included. I make my own fondant, so it tastes good. I did however have to watch in silence so I don't know if it was gum paste...😏

Hi, I recently started watching your videos, they are amazing and very helpful, thank you.
I have a question, I noticed you use chocolate ganache on every cake, my question is do you have to use ganache on cakes to decorate nicely or customers want ganache on cake?
    Thank you

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  2 роки тому +1

Awww welcome to the channel! Yes, I started out using buttercream many years ago, but once I discovered ganache I can never go back! It's far more stable and can withstand the slightly heavier toppers, and the extra rough smoothing to get those sharp edges, buttercream can be a bit too soft sometimes.

Great helpful video. Thank you. I'm curious to what cake flavours you offer? In only ever see vanilla or chocolate and wondering if you only offer certain flavours or is it what ever the client wants? Im not sure how much variety to offer. Thanks

Thanks! The full list is on my website, but the most popular is always the classic jam and buttercream :D
