I love the way you’re running your channel. Like, it’s ingenious clickable content without being obnoxious hypebait. Genuine fun jokes and Lego history
I couldn't agree more. I watch a lot of LEGO Lord of the Rings channels to get inspiration for MOCs and almost every other video is made to be a Mr. Beast knockoff by a lazy content creator with enough money to blow on an entire army of expensive orc minifigures. Originality is a gem, especially here where it seems like everything does seems to satarize the typical LEGO channel in a very passive-aggressive way. Absolute gold.
@@spaceforce-girlforcejjwest2048It is possible we might of had them at first but not in the 90s. I think that would be awesome. There are rumors of a pirate set coming this year but I don’t think its a ship. Also there was that 2010 set 10210 Imperial Flagship. I think a set a year from Castle, Pirates and Space is the way to go.
That's why the first lego boats from the 70's had a piece with weight on it that you put under the boat so it can float without flipping Like in the 312 tanker
Fun fact originally the black sea's barracuda was gonna be a boat that could float however early test showed it was too heavy and the cost would have been high to allow it to float.
Top-heaviness is a big problem on all of Lego’s boat-themed brick sets. I’d recommend Cobi if you want vessels worthy of taking the main, and taking back the main.
I knew what was coming, yet I still physically cringed as each ship was carefully placed onto the surface of their watery grave, tipping over with a horrifying sploosh, and sinking slowly beneath the crystal waves. Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
You should do a similar video about Star Wars fighters and ships and see if they actually fly! Edit: My brothers and I got “Brickbeard’s Bounty” over a decade ago and she’s still in impeccable shape today, a rather unique set we’re proud owners of, I’ll get back to you in regards to whether she floats or not.
I’ve had a bad sore throat the past couple days, but this has really cheered me up! Thanks Robrick! ❤ Also, Wife voice reveal! (unless she spoke in another video and I’m stupid lol)
You should do the Steven Spielberg sets like 1349! I remember them being advertised in the Lego magazine all the time... I think there was even a video game? It might've been on the Lego website, I honestly don't remember.
I'm lucky to have found your channel! Seeing these videos takes me back to the legos I've collected, My fav is 6243 Brickbeard's Bounty, its the one I have, It may only have 3 cannons, but the shark is spacious enough to eat a minfig whole!
I’ve just found your channel yesterday and gone through and watched everything.. x3 genuinely love your content and humour and I’m excited to see more! Love to see more Johnny Thunder, Ice planet or Alpha Team! Those themes were my jam when I was a kid. ♡ 🇮🇪
Amazing... I have all three of these sets and they really do represent different eras of lego... The original is more limited in piece options but has the figures and space to really shine... The black pearl is smaller and has more style where's the 3-1 set is a brick built masterpiece but lacks some of the original charm.
The most unfortunate thing is that none of LEGOs newly released hulls even resemble anything like an older ship, so rebuilding the superstructure onto one of them isn't really feasible either. The only one of the old ships that "floats" decently (meaning it doesn't tip over immediately) is the Viking Longboat from set 7018. The hull on it is far flatter and wider than the regular LEGO ships, and with only 1 mast it doesn't have the heavy top either. Unfortunately, it's still only brick-built, and hence not water-tight....
@@RobrickLego Take it easy man, you're already on micron-thin ice with the Mrs.... I gifted one of those to my Mrs., I can just try it out and let you know what happens (I only float-tested some of the safe options I had, like the 42105 Catamaran or the 60014 Coast Guard patrol boat).
@@RobrickLego So I'm back, I can confirm the Viking longboat stayed afloat for almost 7 minutes, before elegantly sinking. I think by putting some plates over the bigger holes it could be made to float even longer, as water would only seep into the hull through the sections. It's not like the OG boat hulls that can just float indefinitely, but still better than the pirate ships that tip over instantly... One tip though, remove the sail. It's made out of some strange fabric that doesn't look like it'd get along with water.
Got some giggles out of me at the end, but... (spoilers) I wonder if any would actually float if you put weighted bricks in the bottom of the boats as ballast like they did for some that actually float. Could be a neat round two, perhaps?
Of course they will won't float, only the ones from the early town port where built for floating. The only the pirate is the small boats maybe but nothing with open parts.
Yeah they came in the post this week and i noticed while building them but i thought id just wipe them down after, sadly the grime was rather old and hardened so a mistake on my part 😥

I like how they all jus immediately capsized in calm water. We didn’t originally get firing cannons here in the states. It was apparently dangerous.

I think i need to order a replacement at some point 😭
Another banger, although I died a little inside when those fabric sails hit the water

I love how the whole "test" takes like 20 seconds lmao.
It’s cool of how all three of them look completely different and yet they all look like pirate ships
The 3 in 1 is an amazing set, something about it being completely brick built makes it stand out.
The way each ship went over was so comical.
Haha! nice. They gotta put more lead in those keels!

‘Where the cannons sleep’ 😂
Please redo this, but give each boat one or two of the "Boat, Keel Weighted" pieces to make sure they don't all flip with the sails/masts!
Love this content so much, it's perfectly long, funny, and just good quality Lego videos, hope you keep growing your channel

Would have loved a comparison to the Sea Beard's Sea Cow!
man you are the best, you grow so fast
Boat does not float. But it sinks slowly so you can grab it before it’s lost. Great feature.

What an amazing idea for a video. I’ve been collecting pirates minifigs for a bit now… it could be the best theme! Keep it up!!
u just unlocked a memory of getting the redbeards runmer on christmas in 2004 or something like that? still habe that ship somewhere woah.

Quickly became my favorite lego YT a few weeks ago, keep up the Great work man!
Thanks bud, its comments like these that keep me motivated 😁
Genuine tears of laughter watching you float them boats, keep it up my guy
I wanted to put pirate music at the end but they all just fell over too fast 😂
“Proving you don’t need a weapon in your pants to carry a weapon in your hands” BRO I CANT LOL
Damn good content, I watched even though I knew the outcome going in
You think you could do a video on Lego western? I’d love to hear your opinion (and jokes) about it
For sure! I just need to get a couple more sets first 😁
My favorite is and will maybe forever be 6286 "Skulls Eye Schooner". F.. the Black Seas Barracuda.
Yar mate, swab the deck! (Dust your old ships!)
I’m happy someone has finally done the testing
To be honest I thought the BSB would float just a little bit, upright, that is, not sideways.
Awesome vid❤

I took my 3 in one and changed some colors to look more like the Bear.
It’s much better.
I still have my childhood Skull's Eye Schooner. I love it, but have always thought the Black Sea Barracuda was a superior pirate ship.
Its funny you should say that as im currently eyeing up a skull's eye schooner on ebay as we speak 🤣
My favourite has to be the black pearl
You are going to be hitting big numbers with the quality you keep putting out!!!!

🤣Another fantastic video, I honestly really like the Creator 3 in 1 pirate ship, but the black pearl and black sea barricuda surely are classics
What a great way to try to justify your buyings ! 🎉
I have to convince the wife somehow 😁
That test lasted forever man it was like 3 mini titanics watching them slowly sink in slow motion one by one.
Now that you have covered pirate ships. what will be next? Ice planet 2002? Jack Stone? The Monorails?
Im thinking of doing the lego games but i don't know how i would go about it at the moment as i cant really do it in the style i usually do 😅
