Yeah it is lol. Did none of them say I'll try better next time?? Idk northwestern is suppose to be one of the most elite universities but that doesn't mean teachers are better they just have better resumes lol.
0:29 To be fair, that student does have a point. It may be a good idea to repeat what was said if the voice of the student that answered her questions is too soft for other students to hear. It is much better to say that this student is correct and move on without thinking about it. You are a professor, not a 'exactly and move on machine' ;) See it as a fair criticism to improve as professor and not a 'mean' comment, which it is clearly not. Several professors seem to have the 'I don't give a fuck' idea towards their students. How exactly will a student learn from that? You are there to teach isn't it? So why that attitude towards those that are there to learn from your lessons? Please do think about it, a student is not the only one that can learn new things. Even being a professor you can learn a lot, including from your students. (None of these were actually really mean, but more trying to improve lessons for the next classes these professors will give. Unfortunately that part may have slipped past the professors it seems)
Actually, if she repeated what students with squeaky voices said, she would get a troll comment saying that she insulted people by repeating what they say. A lot of the student comments are just trolling.
That's constructive. Like not everyone has a loud booming voice so yes as a prof you should be repeating things if necessary. This prof is taking too defensively.
SIG442 if you didn't hear, then raise your hand and say “hey teach soz but i didn't hear jack shit of what he/she said could you repeat it plz thx brosephine”
ive watched alot of these videos now, and the same theme always permeates. 90% of them get really defensive and/or dont actually acknowledge the criticism
Because the students don't pay them. And I mean that in the best way possible. They are professors. They were once students. They studied to become professors to teach. There is no evil incentive to be harsh to students. Professors are also people, and they will ask their peers for advice, not a student that is having a bad day. Also, half of these were more funny than actual criticism.
B Rocka they have big egos that’s why. It’s in there nature to be the person who is mostly right all the time cuz so there use to it and when there wrong they can admit it.
That's because this is an april fools video meant to be a parody of the Mean Tweets segment on Kimmel. They probably just weeded out the funniest or tongue-in-cheek evals to make a fun video.
None of these are particularly mean. It's useful to know that Northwestern University will take instructor evaluations submitted in good faith and use them for public mockery of their students.
I used rate my professor when I was in college and most reviews were correct in evaluating a professor. There are a lot of bad professors teaching in college, but most professors are good teachers. So rate my professor is a very valuable tool to get a good professor.
2:49 Sorry, Professor DiCola, but late 60s and early 70s Bee Gees is great stuff. And some of their disco stuff is great too. So, if you ever shut their music off in front of me, believe me, you'd get a strongly worded letter.
Academics are defensive... Reason being their whole career is based on how well they defend their ideas, theories, and research from journals' referees and editors..
Person at 2.05...you're in the wrong profession, mate...I've had professors like that, usually they're new and are desperately trying to get tenured. I wish they realized the fundamental point of their profession and tempered their personal ambition with that in mind!
2:06 ...sounds like Professor Provenzano is a mess in how she presents her material: Her reading assignments and course documents are many and disorganized, she extends the length of her classes beyond what is scheduled, spams you with e-mails during the year, takes no responsibility for her mistakes... I know the type.
Maybe it would help if students understood how challenging it is to be a professor. They work in a publish or perish, politically-correct, oftentimes demeaning environment with lousy pay and are charged with satisfying the intellectual, philosophical, and emotional needs of a wildly diverse student group just a mere hop, skip, and jump out of adolescence. Unless they are tenured, at any moment they could be unemployed and have to move their families to another region for work. They are required to stay fully abreast of their subject matter on their own dime. The reward? They get to read mean-spirited student reviews much more often than not developed by students in the lowest performing percentile. I adored all my professors...hardworking, caring, diligent, dutiful, godly people. People who cared enough about me to educate me. Just one man's opinion.
You do know Law professors make gratuitous amounts of money right? They aren't undergrad state school professors. They make a shit load. Becoming a law professor is literally one of the most difficult jobs to get in the entire law profession next to big law and federal judge clerkships. Law school students also are not on average nearly as militant as an undergrad. You seem to be conflating the issues that affect undergrad with law schools which are very different.
I can't believe all these comments shitting on the professors. These guys are hilarious! There is no way any academic I know of would be humble enough to laugh about their bad lecture reviews and stick it on youtube. Good on them.
Since people are arguing about the evaluations, let me just say that most, if not all that was read out, was opinion and not feedback. Feedback would entail constructive criticism.
They're legit course evaluations, these professors are just taking it as a joke. I wouldn't bother to write shit about a course unless it was actually a pretty shit course or pretty shit teacher.
You can tell the person who wrote that review at 1:54 was an idiot. Maybe your professor is trying to show you how much bank you can be banking if you listen to him. As well as keeping students motivated who might be questioning their studies reminding them there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
manictiger That's good. Point being someone at northwestern law isn't paying $65,000 a year just on tuition without knowing how much they expect to earn in big law when the school they go to employs 55% of the students in big law
I find it hilarious that these children are all upset that the professors don't care. The school already has your tuition, the professors get paid whether pass the course or not. And do you know what's worse children? Your real education begins after you graduate.
they probably think "This is just a kid in his 20's, he has no clue what he is saying (:". I understand fully that you shouldn't take all criticism, because most can be garbage. You shouldn't look at it as though they are too dumb to give good criticism at all.
This was absolutely hysterical. Also, as a person with a quiet voice (normally) I feel absolutely no sympathy for those who cannot hear me and appreciate not having to repeat myself. I find a professor making illogical arguments, which the entire class must debate to no avail, to be exponentially more frustrating than anything listed in the video.
Most of this is actually good feedback.
Yeah it is lol. Did none of them say I'll try better next time?? Idk northwestern is suppose to be one of the most elite universities but that doesn't mean teachers are better they just have better resumes lol.
1:44 No, It may be more beneficial to explain why they're wrong so they don't keep getting it wrong.
Snavels no
Exactly
I have no idea but I have a feeling she does explain the reasoning... the kid just doesn't like a hard no, because that's too harsh? Lol
squeak! squeak!

No offense, but a couple of these are valid lol
SIG442 if you didn't hear, then raise your hand and say “hey teach soz but i didn't hear jack shit of what he/she said could you repeat it plz thx brosephine”
There is one that just calls a prof an ass
ive watched alot of these videos now, and the same theme always permeates. 90% of them get really defensive and/or dont actually acknowledge the criticism
Ill take whats wrong with college education for 500$
Because the students don't pay them. And I mean that in the best way possible.

ummm "a lot" - two words... Just sayin'
B Rocka they have big egos that’s why. It’s in there nature to be the person who is mostly right all the time cuz so there use to it and when there wrong they can admit it.
I had a History professor named Zimmerman, brilliant man, taught History of the Roman Empire. He would be well over 100 now.
Does this professor also moonlight as a folk singer?
2:36 “DeSantos weakened is... that he is married”😂
These aren't mean course evaluations.
That's because this is an april fools video meant to be a parody of the Mean Tweets segment on Kimmel. They probably just weeded out the funniest or tongue-in-cheek evals to make a fun video.
@I am potatoe potatoes have it rough
Usually when there is more than a couple of those "mean" reviews, they are dead on.
I knew college professors were insecure, but damn.
Right, says the person that won’t use their real name in the internet
@@alexandereisen3486 Ι mean, that has nothing to do with anything. Most of us make emails when we are very young hence the names.
None of these are particularly mean. It's useful to know that Northwestern University will take instructor evaluations submitted in good faith and use them for public mockery of their students.
I would agree that they’re not particularly mean, but I also wouldn’t call this mockery of their students.
shut yo.... XD
This is all good feedback.
I used rate my professor when I was in college and most reviews were correct in evaluating a professor. There are a lot of bad professors teaching in college, but most professors are good teachers. So rate my professor is a very valuable tool to get a good professor.
I really liked Mr. DeSanto (2:35)... He just seems really nice and funny
professor provenzano just seems like a caring teacher
Prof. Lutz has such a taste... (two Corinthians replicas behind him!). Loved it!
Jodie Foster is a northwestern law professor? 1:37
Introvert xD
2:49 Sorry, Professor DiCola, but late 60s and early 70s Bee Gees is great stuff. And some of their disco stuff is great too. So, if you ever shut their music off in front of me, believe me, you'd get a strongly worded letter.
How unbelievably tough you have to be to be a law professor xD
When I saw Professor Kadens I was slightly stunned because she reminded me so much of Jodie Foster.
Fantastic video.... I love the prof who 'doesn't care'..
"Who gives a shit about this?"
Haha, my type of professor
Academics are defensive... Reason being their whole career is based on how well they defend their ideas, theories, and research from journals' referees and editors..
Professor Reed is literally adorable
ok but the 3rd professor highkey looks like jamie lannister with glasses
These are mild compared to the evaluations I did when I was in college.
I've never met a Lutz that wasn't exactly like that lol.
A part of me is looking forward to this more than to actually teaching.
I never had a lesson with Professor Lutz, but I could see another serious defect through this video, he is a corinthians fan
The background song choice is hilarious
I'm here trying to understand why "Mato Grosso" is spelled "Matto Grosso" in the map behind her...
Person at 2.05...you're in the wrong profession, mate...I've had professors like that, usually they're new and are desperately trying to get tenured. I wish they realized the fundamental point of their profession and tempered their personal ambition with that in mind!
Looks like they were not pissed at all.
2:06 ...sounds like Professor Provenzano is a mess in how she presents her material:
Her reading assignments and course documents are many and disorganized, she extends the length of her classes beyond what is scheduled, spams you with e-mails during the year, takes no responsibility for her mistakes... I know the type.
I would really like to know why/how Professor Lutz has Corinthians t-shirts behind him LOL
0:45 i hate it when it happens
Theres a Corintiano teacher outta here!
Prof. Lutz has such a taste... loved it!
Didn’t know Jaime Lannister taught law at Northwestern (0:45)

Thank you!

3:03 I'm wondering why he has two Corinthians shirts in his room...
????
Provenzano really does give me those super unorganized professor vibes.
1:04 professor Reed looks like Lance (Clark Duke) from Sexdrive..
What the heck do you care what a professor looks like? They are not celebrities hired to entertain you. Grow Up.
Since people are arguing about the evaluations, let me just say that most, if not all that was read out, was opinion and not feedback. Feedback would entail constructive criticism.
THE SECOND LADY PROFESSOR IS SOOOOO FUNNY!
¿Qué carajos hacen las camisetas del corinthians detras de uno de los profes?
1:36 Jodie foster’s new role ????
Omg!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
They're legit course evaluations, these professors are just taking it as a joke. I wouldn't bother to write shit about a course unless it was actually a pretty shit course or pretty shit teacher.
I'm with Reed
Screw the viewpoints
1:12: I hate your bow-tie with the infinite momentum of an angry pulsar, but I LOVE your response!
That Zimmerman is one handsome guy.
Kinda
0:48 fucking annihilated
Whats the name of the music
R E M: Everybody hurts
1:28 that’s not mean lol
You can tell the person who wrote that review at 1:54 was an idiot. Maybe your professor is trying to show you how much bank you can be banking if you listen to him. As well as keeping students motivated who might be questioning their studies reminding them there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
That's a shit way to motivate students. You got into northwestern law you know wtf is going on your not a idiot.
@Mr Green
Money is a great motivator. I keep stacks of money, gold and my most expensive guns on my desk to remind me what I'm trading stocks for.
manictiger That's good. Point being someone at northwestern law isn't paying $65,000 a year just on tuition without knowing how much they expect to earn in big law when the school they go to employs 55% of the students in big law
I guess. Concepts are easy to forget, but a wad of cash is a little easier to remember.
manictiger agreed
Do nada a camisa do corinthias haha
these law profs are cringe
I find it hilarious that these children are all upset that the professors don't care. The school already has your tuition, the professors get paid whether pass the course or not. And do you know what's worse children? Your real education begins after you graduate.
What is wrong with them? Why do they read it so condescendingly? Shouldn’t they take the criticism and learn from it? Do they think they’re perfect?
Gery yes they do think they’re perfect. Welcome to the liberal elite.
they probably think "This is just a kid in his 20's, he has no clue what he is saying (:". I understand fully that you shouldn't take all criticism, because most can be garbage. You shouldn't look at it as though they are too dumb to give good criticism at all.
You shouldn’t be allowed to leave criticism anonymously.
honestly these aren't that mean...
These criticisms are supposed to be mean? Pretty mild considering the awful state of some universities these days
1:25 my kinda girl.
Vai Corinthians!!!!! 2:03
Vai Corinthians
Sounds like some millennials got triggered
Watching this was so cringe. How 'bout you take the feedback and improve your offering.
