I was just diagnosed based on symptoms. I lost sight in my left eye 3 times within 2 days. My blood work is perfect…I’ve also have Polyarteritis Nodosa Lucky me…and yes I am an old granny!
I've been sick all my life. I have torture pains in all joints. Hips & spine make me scream bloody murder. I'm 38. I'm not sure how much longer I'm able to keep doing this. I live with my mom & brother. I have 4 kids. My own family is not listening, I can't move fast enough for them two. I been wanting to move & go thru this alone. I'm broke. My kids are tearing the house up. But when I first moved here it was torn up tho. My left eye has blindness to it a lot. I'm telling my mom over & over that I'm not well & I can't be Speedy Gonzolas for you. My brother cusses me out cause me & the coronavirus is keeping him from taking my kids out of town. That really hurt me. I just not well. But " YOU LOOK FINE!" I Been told by my mom "you moved up north with all these kids!" "You shouldn't of had these kids!" It hurt too cause I just don't understand how a Christian God fearing woman could say that about her own grandbabies. I can't work. I can't stand, sit & walk longer than 10 min. I lost my hearing. I can't taste anything also. I'm nothing. My left eye goes blind for 3-5 min a day once maybe twice. Ugh.
Thanks for sharing your humbling story I hope in the following months since everything got better stay positive and hopeful theirs always light at the end of the tunnel stay strong you’ve made it this far
My veins in temporal area are giant but no pain or other symptoms but my veins are also little bit upward than normal o had head ache due to tooth infection 🥺
I don’t care for the clowning around. It is distracting. I used to have this disease and was treated for 10 years and do not appreciate his cavalier approach to it.
@Jay H the real tests to determine if you have temporal arteritis are your SED rate and your C-reactive protein, if both of those are normal you do NOT have TA. You may have occipital neuralgia which mimics it, and I found 95% relief 😅 on U Tube … o drugs, just simple neck exercises
@Jay H the way you know you have it is if your SED rate and C-Reactive Protein are high. If they are not high then you might have occipital neuralgia which mimics it (including possible eye pain) but not blindness. It gives you migraines, nausea, swollen arteries, burning scalp, and potentially eye pain. I Tube the disease. Then the treatment, no drugs, just simple neck exercises (physical therapy). U Tube Occipital neuralgia and go to Bob & Brad - no joke. Best to you. 🤞🏻(I’m off all med after thinking I’d be in agony forever.)👍
Yes… I’m 56 and I had all the symptoms but every doctor kept saying you’re to young but we’ll test you. While my headache was pounded on one side of my head with a vein bulging & painful to touch. I couldn’t even lay on my pillow with comfort. After going to two doctors-the ophthalmologist called and said your ers or esr test was high-and we need you to start a steroid immediately. I’m glad I kept insisting on being tested because they thought I was not old enough to have this Diagnosis. So if you have an unusual headache and it’s pounding on one side of your head and you feel like you want to massage the area and you feel a soreness. And moving your eye feels a little sore like the headache is near your eye stiffness in your neck and uncomfortable holding your phone you should beware of the symptoms and get tested as soon as possible.
if one don't appreciate the effort that u guys are putting in,it will never be fair!!

It's actually not uncommon for it to be in younger women .
