Hello. I have been diagnosed with cutaneous polyarteritis nodosa on my lower left leg about a year ago and I was on prednisone for 6 months. It’s been 2 months since I’ve been off the prednisone but I am seeing nodules on my leg again. Is there a way to treat this symptom naturally? I am also curious if cpan is associated with allergies since cpan is an auto immune disorder. I do have food allergies and seasonal allergies.
I had a similar case to yours, in both my legs. I couldn't walk at the end before they found out that it was PAN, and started treatment. I used prednisolone, which helped immensely. But i also used chemotherapy, something called metotrexathe. Which i took once a week, Took prednisolone and metex for one year and eight months, i quit about a month ago, and i am feeling better than ever. Especially now that i don't have all the side-effects from prednisolone. That was horrible.
I have been diagnosed with Polyarteritis Nodosa on my left leg. From the blood work result, no organs were affected. I have been on Prednisone 20mg for 3weeks. I am wondering if I can heal from this illness. Since no organs were affected, I wonder if my symptoms fall under Cutaneous Polyarteritis Nodosa
You can consider sural nerve biopsy, since mononeuritis is commonest presentation...and sural nerve usually is best to demonstrate that...no need for renal biospy since PAN presents with renal infarcts rather than Glomerulonephritis. Mesentric vessel angiogram is usually sufficient to demonstrate compromised circulation and ongoing mesentric ischemia...since PAN has transmural vessel involvement that too medium sized, angiogram does pick it up...
@@rushikeshdighe4894 Well i have a sizable scar in my leg a bit down to the left behind my right knee, after the cut it and took out a chunk. From observing that chunk, they gave me the diagnose.
Im suffering from PAN.late diagnosis. Managed to complete med school. However,i can't work as a clinician.im alrdy immunocompromised as per treatment. In addition the stress of being a clinician only serves to exacerbates the flare ups. Life sucks...

There is NO cure for vasculitis. The goal is to prevent or slow down organ damage.
Hi how are you now?
thankyou
Which biopsy you mean in PAN? How to take biopsy from renal or mesenteric artery?

@@rushikeshdighe4894 I took a muscular biopsy of my leg to confirm my PAN-diagnosis.
@GSH ,its actually nerve plus underlying part of muscle which increases accuracy of diagnosis, hence its taken from lower part of leg laterally
