Whenever you first throw the paint down I always think to myself 'how on earth will Sara make anything out of that?' And then like an alchemist you somehow conjure up something utterly fantastic. This piece is STUNNING, encapsulating visually and emotionally. As always your creations take me on such a deep personal and emotional journey. That intermit time that you gave this pieces is so special Sara, it is like I am watching myself when I am bringing a piece to life. For me with these Pearl Paintings, I am reminded of the beginnings of the primordial mix of our beautiful planet (Gaia), looking from above designing, creating and giving her a physical form importance (the necessary details for life). Yes, that's why I love them too. I have several books on photos of natural landscapes and forms, and Sara's paintings capture those natural flows and streams and energies onto canvas. Like some primordial force given expression. Schwenk's book Sensitive Chaos also comes to mind, I wonder if Sara knows of it?
@@anitapeura3517 Greetings Anita. We have a 200ft cliff face where we live and it is hundreds of millions years old. The rock formations show the rocks when they were in a liquid state and they are breathtakingly beautiful. I have taken hundreds of photos of them over the past 30 years +. Sara is an amazing artist and her creations are captivating and so beautiful. 💝

@@tamzart7974 Sounds gorgeous! I love the idea of rocks as liquid. If you learn something of these natural processes that take eons in our time frame, you could almost imagine them taking form and shifting before your eyes. In spiritual realms it is often said there is no time, and I think this is what we so very dimly remember when we see these natural forms. I'm currently re-reading one of my favourite books, Time Song, by Julia Blackburn, who writes about the death of her husband but also the disappearance of the old landmass Doggerland in the North Sea that previously joined Britain to Europe. It is a meditation on time, change and remembrance. This is part of what I see in Sara's work. (Transference perhaps.) I have also had an interest in the ancient Japanese art of suminagashi which uses floating inks, also reliant on natural processes of air and water and ink, and hand of the artist who gives up ego to allow the forms to evolve. The different mediums produce different effects and allow the unique hand/mind of the artist. That fascinating interface between human and Nature makes some great art.
First I’m so Intrigued at how you decide to layer the paints… then how You decide to move them with such a vision and how they’re going to turn out… And lastly you’re embellishing and creating connections in the painting just is extraordinary… And blows my mind…

An absolute stunner! You created a piece that is perfect in every way for their home. I personally would display it in an empty room with just one cushy chair in the center of the room facing the painting. This painting is that much of a statement piece. ❤️

Hi Sara. I couldn't comment enough in this short message about all my thoughts, appreciation and quite frankly often awe of your skilled technique, comprehension of chemistry and of course breathtaking art. I am an artist as well and my approach thus far to this unselfish medium has been some amateur experiments which quickly turned into huge respect because I knew I had underestimated everything it encompasses. So off I went on my 5 week UA-cam exploration and study of all of you out there and the dreaded chemistry. Not my strong suit.I have vast UA-cam playlists and many pages of notes in my binder. You are one of my favorites. Things I know I would and will do you already do. Negative space. Earthy rich colour and texture. Layering of color and to me the most exciting and personal extension of your individual self, the wet paint modifications by your hand with tools and also the dry modifications. I study your work a lot and take many notes and I think I am ready to try your recipes. Sometimes I'm not sure when you say satin enamels if you're referring to Decoart or BEHR. In your cloud recipe you list 1 part Satin House Paint and a touch of Satin Enamel. What is the touch of satin enamel? Thank you much for your generosity in sharing your knowledge and your so personal talent and art. Sandra

I first saw trees on a snowy mountain. Gradually, it changed to a forceful splash in deep, cold water. As I was writing saw you adding gold touches. Have to go back and reassess. Whatever, beautiful.
