It's because she is such a wallflower and has an innocent-like personality. My wife is like her, and whenever she drops a curse word (which almost never happens), me or my parents are shocked, lmao. It's just so unexpected.
It fits her character. She's not the perfect innocent angel people want her to be. The original game's dialogue made that very apparent. She's much more like she was in the original game than any of the other works since, where they try take a fun, flirtatious girl and turn her into a perfect innocent angel. And that's just sad. I'm glad she's back to her normal self.
The rooftop scene, from their conversations, interactions and music changed me forever. Never fell in love with a video game character this much before. Aerith is just such a beautiful and charismatic girl. Fell for her in the remake and her in the og ffvii after finishing Remake. It is gunna hurt me badly again in part 2. I am not ready at all.

Also it's fun that a lot of the lines are traded between them, if you compare to the original game. For a example in the OG it's Cloud that says that the Turks search for potential soldiers. But here it's Aerith. It makes me think if she already lived those moments before.

You know it's great writing and chemistry when you forget that the game just turned into a walking simulator for 5-10 minutes and didn't notice. Of course they had to ruin that with the robot arm shit. No amount of awkward high-fives remedied that.
Arbiters of fate are cheap. Meh. The game is great, would be 10/10 but these ghosts are so cheap I can’t give it a perfect score. Like This scene for example, just make Aerith run to Cloud after Reno gives them the order not to hurt her. They made her stand still cause the soldier said if she ran he would shoot, but if Reno is his boss and told him he can’t do that it would have made more sense to let Aerith make a run for it, instead they brought the ghosts which is a cop out. Similarly it should have been Aerith who stopped cloud from killing Reno she was shouting at Cloud to stop, Cloud obviously seems to have a soft spot for Aerith, he obviously would have listened to her. Cheap story telling with these Ghosts, worst part is that they are unnecessary.

I thought about stuff like this. And I think that having Jessie sprain her ankle as a clumsy accident would stand out as a plot device. Other similar moments would stand out as well. All they did was rip off the disguise that the plot devices would have worn. As a writer, I find that fascinating. My take is that the whole thing comes from character development. If you write stories at all, especially re-writes, it shocks you how much free will characters need to have. They go off on their own, don't follow the original story, and turn to wooden cookie cutters if you don't let them have their way. When Aerith said, "Every time the whispers touch me I lose something, a part of myself" that hit me pretty hard. As somebody who has rewritten the same story at least ten times, I can testify that Aerith tells the truth.

Yeah I always liked the name Aeris in original. It is true that it is a miss-translation because they called her Earth in Japanese language and the correct translation in English for Earth from Japanese is 'Aerith' so they changed it.
Also Aerith's father was called Professor Ghast Faremis and Elmyra Gainsborough is only her adoptive mother. So perhaps her final name should be Aerith Faremis.
