what was the deepest water you drove into? Any issues with the hybrid system? Do the transmission and the hybrid system handle this type of muddy & wet roads?

Thanks so much. Yes, I do carry a full size spare, which unfortunately prevents the trunk/boot floor from sitting correctly. Not sure about making a video about modifications... maybe one day... I think there are more interesting RAV4 builds out there.

Thanks for watching! It's a 2019 GXL AWD. I haven't checked the corrosion cable myself, but given I'm not driving on salted roads I'm not expecting any issues. I'll let you know if I have any issues.

Love the vids and editing! If you were to get a lift, would you go with the ironman ats suspension (that has a 2inch lift)?
Thanks for watching! Honestly I don't know which lift I would get. They all seem pretty good. I think I would go chat with a mechanic and get their view, because I don't know enough to make the best decision. Having said that, if one option gave me more lift in the back I'd lean towards that because I carry a lot of gear usually.
I have watched all your videos now, love the content! I am thinking of doing a similar set up, except maybe going to a 245/70R16 on the AT3W. My question is, do you have any rubbing issues when the suspension is in full compression and in full lock?
Thanks so much! Actually when the tires were new, there was slight rubbing at full lock and shock compression. Not enough to be a concern though. After a few thousand miles the rubbing stopped. It looks like 245/70r16 is almost exactly the same dimensions as mine, so they should be ok. Don't forget you also need to consider the wheel offset on your rims. You're adding about 2cm of extra width, so you would want to offset about 1cm of that inwards. (Sorry for the terrible explanation. Definitely research this if you havent already worked this out).

Hey mate. Thanks! I haven't installed any underbody protection yet. Last time I looked (a couple of years ago) I couldn't find anything that was going to be effective. Sorry I'm not much help with this.

Hi! When the tires were new there was some very minor rubbing. After a few months it stopped completely.

Which rims do you use?
They're KMC KM708 BULLY rims. I think they still make them when ordered.
brand of tires and wheels?
have you ever had any technical issue due to offroading? E.g. the eCVT transmission and the hybrid system handles well these wet, muddy, sandy environments?
So far, no issues. The deepest I've been is probably around the bottom of the doors, maybe top of the wheels briefly.
@@rav4me thanks! What do you think of the Mitsubishi outlander PHEV? Can it handle very similar environment? I can't decide yet which one to choose, i like both but the outlander is much cheaper with similar setup i'm just not sure of its offroad capabilities
@@peterp7470 I'm afraid I don't know how the Outlander performs. It would be worth comparing the clearance and angle of approach between the two vehicles, as I find these are usually the limiting factors.

Hi Seb, are you referring to the roof rack/platform? If so I think it is unlikely to be suitable for a vehicle with a sunroof, but perhaps the manufacturer can advise. There's a link and details in this video's description. I hope this answers your question. Cheers.

This was in the Wollemi near Sydney, off Putty road somewhere. Are you familiar with the area at all? No lift yet, but soon I hope.

Is RAV4 hybrid capable on the beach?
I've not had a chance to drive it much on sand, however I plan to do this soon. I'll post a video when I do. I think it should be OK unless it gets into deep ruts made by other vehicles

I am planning to soon buy a Toyota RAV4 fifth generation hybrid, I want a vehicle vehicle vehicle vehicle vehicle that has off-road capabilities. I am in France. sorry for the english. in view of your videos which are very pretty and very very well shot and filmed I confirm that this vehicle has real off road capabilities nevertheless can you tell me what modifications have been made to the vehicle I am thinking of the model of rims as well as the tires . by any chance do you know the maximum admissible payload on the roof in the event of putting up a roof tent. thanking you in advance for your possible response and congratulations again for all these very beautiful videos thank you and good luck to you

Tires: Falken Wildpeak AT3W 245/65r17. I don't currently have a lift kit, but I would highly recommend getting one. For the roof top tent, the total weight of your tent and cross bars should be under 80kg. Good luck!

Why do none have a snorkel fitted in all videos
I would like to fit a snorkel. Maybe one day... untill then I'll have to avoid anything too deep
Here's some constructive criticism. I'm not a hater or troll ..... I subscribed for RAV4 content ... But over 40 videos now showing pretty much all the same thing . No talking. Trail shots , drone shots etc... it's getting old man . I mean it's well edited and produced. But we need a change of better interesting content . Let's do a full rig walk around explaining everything . Mods , any issues that you've had with the rav4 and so on.... And maybe an insight on where you want to go with the channel or future mods for the rav4...... Just some food for thought
