For future Minecraft tests, I would say using the java version combined with the sodium mod could show people the real best performance, in my case the mod made me go from around an average of around 120fps to around 350+ frames. I would guess based on the performance that you got with the system using sodium would result in a steady 60fps on a mix of low and medium settings.
for me that mod boosts my fps up to 600+ fps (ryzen 7 3700x) and then suddenly the game gets unplayable rly weird

Thanks for taking the time to test budget laptops. You may be one of the only channels if not the only one that tests budget PC's. This laptop has better specs than my last desktop PC. Mine was a Core 2 Duo with 6GB of RAM and a Geforce 210 GPU with 1GB of VRAM. The GPU was good enough to play movies and watch UA-cam videos but it couldn't play very many games unless those games were NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, etc. I could play Minecraft on it but it would lag even on the lowest settings. That's one of the main reasons why I'm happy with my FX-8320, 16GB of DDR3 RAM, and Radeon HD 7950 3GB GPU. It's like going from a 4 cylinder car to a V8.
Actually, you old PC was in some ways better then this laptop because it had more RAM and dedicated graphics card. And yes, you could play games from like 10-15 years ago, not just emulation.
@@aleksazunjic9672 You're right. I was sort of comparing my old PC to this laptop and they're not much different. Thanks for the reply.

I got a new Dell 14" Inspiron laptop on a "Black Friday" sale in 2019 for $175Cdn. It has a dual core Celeron, 4gb ram and 64gb eMMC storage. I took the back off of it last week and was able to upgrade the ram to 8gb and the boot drive to an nvme drive. It's like a completely different laptop. Much faster and youtube videos no longer stutter when playing.
This is most important with these budget laptops - could you upgrade RAM and storage ? Now you have decent machine for 2010 era games and emulation .
Yeah same with my aspire a315-54-50pg that I got in the "black Friday" sales in 2019, upgraded the ram and storage (accidently to ssd instead of nvme) but even still its now blazing fast with 16gb of ram and an I5-8265U Intel cpu. Its amazing what the older, budget laptops can do with small upgrades

I have an IdeaPad 3 as well and it's super underrated for budget gaming in my opinion. Emulation is great on it I can go up to wii u stuff. And you can play skyrim like a boss on it as well

I’m my experience, celeron can easily run Minecraft bed rock but not Java, as bedrock runs on most devices due to it being well optimized for console and mobile
Something interesting, there’s a laptop here in the UK called HYPA and it’s for Minecraft, it’s exactly the same as that but just a different name
I played Minecraft when I was a kid on an 800x600 screen with the game window as small as I could possibly make it while still being able to see things. Even then I still got like 15 fps. I loved that, so I imagine a kid would love this laptop

Leader-a brand sold only in Australia sells a laptop similar to the Geo, but has a Celeron N4020, 128GB eMMC, but no USB-C and runs Windows 11 Pro instead of Windows 10 called the Companion 403.
I had a newer revision of this from some local brand. It runs like hot garbage. Putting Linux on it made it run much faster and fixed my driver issues, but also downgraded game and UA-cam FPS.
Overall, would not recommend.
But it's Minecraft
This is honestly sad
I know how to lag any pc.
get a repeating command block then use the fill command to make an infinite exploding tnt cube (go for a minimum of 5x5) also remember to make sure that it's set to always active then just light a block on a higher layer to start the boom
to turn it off just disable command blocks
another way to lag with repeating command block is instead of a tnt cube just spawn withers, add more command blocks for more lag
I used to break servers with redstone repeaters & pistons that tanked alot of FPS aswell.
Bought it and it runs JAVA EDITION not bedrock edition at 8 FPS, 25 with Optifine and somehow lower with Sodium Mods completely make it seconds per frame and not frames per second. I was able to reach 40 FPS with a modpack that had 70 FPS mods and if i played for 10 minutes it would shutdown because it got too hot because of the modpack even with a cooling pad along with running other games like War Thunder at 10 FPS (At minimal graphics) and when tested on Roblox it could only run an empty baseplate at under 30ish FPS...
🤣
Can you tell me what the modpack was , and yeah Sodium runs at lower fps in low end devices
@@gigachad6738 It was a custom made modpack but if you want I can upload it onto curseforge and send you the link, also the modpack was 1.12.2 because it had the most performance mods i could find

Technically you could just get a used old laptop. For example, you could buy a 2012 MacBook Pro(NON RETINA). Even though that laptop is 10 years old, I can still run games on 30-50 fps on the Intel Hd Graphics 4000, showing how a 10 year old laptop that currently costs as low as $150 can beat some cheap laptop made from a unknown brand. You could also upgrade the RAM on the mac from 4GB to 16GB and put 2 SSDs in it...
It looks very good and I think I want to purchase but on the online Best Buy store it only has 2/5 stars is this the one they used
they should of made this to get an average of 60-70fps by getting a 3200g for $30 CAD more, and have a choice to upgrade to 8gb's or even 16gb's of ram

Next time, Try disabling Xbox game dvr and captures(im pretty sure windows 10 has the option on regardless you want it at first boot) for better frames and try playing java with sodium for the best performance from this small machine.
i had a laptop that have same specs(N3450) but with an hdd and yeah bedrock works absolutely fine 60+ fps but in java though is a different story... normal vanilla barely runs at 10fps average, optifine boosts it at 25 fps averge.... but when playing in server somehow it reaches 40+ fps but maybe because of rendering... id say its playable if you aren't playing competitively... i can even edit in premiere pro with the preview in 1/16 resolution and it takes 1 hour to export a 3 min video :)

can you choose whitch version of minecraft you want or is it just minecraft bedrock?
Emulation would run way better than just game boy, it would run psx easy, upscaled, no issues. Nintendo 64 - depends on the choice of emulator, but some tougher to run games would probably be an issue. But even some easier to run psp and dreamcast games should work. Emulation isn't maybe, it's definitely, if you're into it.
I remember as kid I was playing Minecraft on my old HP pavilion laptop, it works even to these days (made 2006). Uhh yeah being able to run windows 10 bedrock edition Minecraft isn't exactly difficult, it's heavily optimized and rewritten in C++. The TNT test you did back in the day was for the java edition which was less optimized, since then it's gotten way better.
The real test would be trying out the Java edition which is better (Which I bet the laptop can't run well).
For that price you can definetly get an HP with AMD Athlon 3050 Silver for arround 300 bucks and will work MILES better than that.
