10/10 for ingenuity guys using your rope to get to the garage. You both cope so well with these issues and always come up with a solution. First class vlog and good luck on your travels. You guys make a great team and work so well together. Well done.👏👏👏
Best of luck with the next leg of your adventure. We really admire your ingenuity. The trick with the rope was very impressive and entertaining in equal measure. You both have incredible patience/resilience. Take care 👍
Seeing as it's only after some poking around for the throttle cable, id check the sensor wiring on the engine end. Or maybe the mechanic took off a water pipe or something to run the cable and caused an air lock? I feel for you guys but it does make great viewing. The accelerator rope is brilliant. Thanks for sharing
Yes it's funny how it was just after the garage. They did have to drop the tank so you never know they might have done something with a hose. Thanks for watching❤️
The accelerator cable stuck on our first van a T25 on the way back from passing its MOT. We had a spare cable but then the pedal fell off and we found it was fixed on with a door hinge. We still had great fun in it after that for two years doing 4000 miles in a van we bought for £1000.
@@ShaneandAneVanLife yes a d started our van journey. We are now on our 3 rd van in the 5 years of buying that T25. Nothing worked in it apart from the gas. Now we have a posh new campervan WITH A TOILET :) we’ve just retired early to head to Spain and Morocco in it next month. How long you in Spain?

On a positive there are a lot of old vehicles in Spain so mechanics are used to dealing with them. Our 21 year old Ducato is in the workshop at the moment near Alicante with an intermittent mystery electrical failure. In the last 6 years we always seem to break down in Spain never in tge UK. Keep going guys. Love your channel.....but it wouldn't be the same without Fergus
Aw no! How is your van? Is it fixed? We know breakdowns all too well and can really feel your pain 🥺 Fergus is the exact same lol We've never had any issues in Ireland, he seems to prefer breaking down in Spain. Thanks so much for tuning in! 🥰
Good luck! Seems like you have the knowledge to get yourself anywhere in the van. If mine broke down I’d be screwed so hats off to you both :) have a great trip.
That's thinking out of the box Shane, good job. Ane good job with the emotional support, he probs needs it in these episodes. Such a sinking feeling! Had my accelerator pedal come off the floor two weeks ago from a wknd camping trip. BTDT and actually to and from the same location with several years apart. I jammed a board on the base of the pedal and drove it home. Can't plan ahead but use your head!
You both look so tired and fed up, bless you. I don’t even dare say “things happen in threes”. Oops, sorry! Thanks for sharing though, you’re still my favourite xx

Not slagging ye Shane, that van is always breaking down or on the verge of it ,you have more spare parts than a motor factors. The rope for accelerator was hilarious and dangerous though it worked.

We had breakdown on day one of our trip. Biggest mistake was allowing van to be towed to compound and not a garage. Took over a week to get it to garage missed ferry home too. Disaster!
Welcome back to van life. You really only have yourselves to blame, you abandoned Fergus and he knows you looked at other vehicles! He is a bit miffed! It is tricky though, you could get something else but there’s no guarantee it will be any more reliable. Have you considered it’s not Fergus, maybe it’s Spain. You only breakdown in Spain! Time to go elsewhere perhaps? Loved the accelerator string, very ingenious. If the temp gauge isn’t fixed, do your fans work? If so, you don’t need to worry about overheating as they will kick in, scare the crap out of you and let you know Fergus is sweating! Consider swapping your temp sender if the rad bleed didn’t fix it - I doubt it’s a spontaneous wiring fault. Anyway, chins up and carry on, get adventuring!
He was in good hands in the sun while we were in Ireland!! You could go fresher but again as you say you can't guarantee. We'd like some more power. We've broke down in Porrugal... Remember we had to sleep in a garage 🤣🤣 The string was a handy way to get to the garage haha Also the temp hand is working now touch wood it stays working. I bled the system yesterday.
