Servings: 4-6
Ingredients:
2 lbs. Beef Round
1-2 Potatoes
3 Carrots
3 Celery Stalks
1 Onion
1 Garlic Clove
3-4 Cups Chicken Broth (or Bone Broth)
Olive Oil
2-3 Bay Leaves
1-2 tbsp. All-Purpose Flour
1-2 Tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tsp. Tomato Paste
1 Tsp. Better than Bouillon (Beef)
Salt
Black Pepper
Prep:
Cut beef into 2 inch cubes.
Cut the onions, carrots potatoes and celery into 1-2 inch pieces.
Mince the clove of garlic.
Heat your pot on medium-high, add some olive oil and sear the beef. No need to cook it all the way through as it will continue to cook in the stew. Remove the beef from the pot and set aside.
Next, add about a tablespoon of olive oil to the pot and add the vegetables, salt and pepper.
Sprinkle in 1-2 Tbsp. of flour, and a teaspoon of tomato paste.
Continue to cook until the vegetables are coated with flour and white flour disappears, this will take about 10 minutes of stirring.
Add your beef back into the pot with vegetables and add Worcestershire, bay leaves and beef bouillon. Stir until incorporated.
Then pour in the broth until everything is fully submerged in the liquid. Stir and bring to a boil.
Lower the heat to low-medium, cover and cook for 1.5-3 hours until the meat is fully cooked and root vegetables are fork tender. The sauce will thicken at this stage.
Tip: For a thicker sauce add a corn starch slurry (1 tbsp. corn start to 1 tbsp. warm water)
Make sure to toast yourself up some bread for dipping into this delicious stew. If you skip this step you'll wish you hadn't! You've been warned!

Very nice and clear explained. What about the slow cooking ? TANK YOU !
I have used this recipe 3 to 4 times so far and my husband absolutely loves it!
😊👋
Mmmmm making it right now and I agree it smells wonderful 😊
Hi Joe, I love beef stew and yours looks harty and delicious.
😎👍 Thanks!
Oh wow it looks so delicious & yummy love your video!
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I appreciate your support.🙏😊
works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.
Looks delish. You have a nice demeanor in your presentation.
Thank you I appreciate your support.😎👍
Delicious thank you!
My pleasure 😊
Hi, Joe!
I missed this one last Friday, but, now that I viewed it I'll follow your recipe. I was looking for a recipe using the pressure cooker but, a few hours is okay. 👍 I can always make it a goulash if I make a mistake. 😊
Hey Bill, nice to hear from you again. My wife enjoyed the pressure cooker whole chicken recipe so much that she asked for me to make it again. It was just as good this time maybe better if I do say so myself. 🤣👍
you could just use beef stock instead as it is beef also wine and use pressure cooking lid?
it looks yummy Joe ... I make mine almost the same as yours but I do like mine a little thicker.
Thanks. 🙏😊
@@YourEverydayJoe we really do like your basic cooking for everyday eating.
This looks great! I am just getting to know my Foodi.. I had a look at your playlist and after saving half a dozen I caved and subscribed. Hopefully I don't gain too much weight trying all these out haha. p.s, I saw another recipe before this one and she pressure cooked it for 25min, and then added gravy mix and seared to thicken at the end, instead of coating with flour at the start. I have a feeling slow cooking would incorporate more flavor, but when in a rush I may try the other option too! Thanks for the vid 🤤
Thanks you for subscribing I hope you are enjoying the channel, I appreciate your support 😎👍
Looks delicious
Thank you.🙂
@@YourEverydayJoe Joe, no disrespect mate. It looks quite tasty, but any man that puts Italian cheese on a beef stew really needs to seek some sort of therapy….. you’ll be putting Italian cheese on your traditional Christmas turkey dinner next. 😂
No disrespect taken, as we all know adding Italian cheese on anything can only improve it😂👋
The thumb nail is misleading/false. It says SLOW COOKER. And that’s what I’m looking for. I don’t want pressure cooker. I want a good slow cooker stew. And I’ve yet to find one. My foodi has slow cooker/yogurt. But it won’t cook my stew
this way defeats the whole reason for buying a ninja foodi sauté then use the pressure cooker done in less than 30 minutes
Hi -- do you need to cover the pot when cooking? can I put lid down? or do I need a glass lid like you used. Thank you
No need to cover the pot just be aware that the liquid will evaporate faster and the stew will thicken more. If that happens, just add a small amount of liquid until you get the consistency you like. Thanks for the comment.
how long would you cook it for (slow cooker) if it’s a roast, with all the trimmings also thank you
Was this done on the slow cooker function? 10:26
What's with that glass lid? My New Foodi XL didn't come with that!
I had a lid from one of my old pots that fit perfectly. Ninja does have a glass lid for the Ninja Foodi. Here is the link, it's about half way down on the page. Not sure if it will fit the XL version. ninjakitchen.pxf.io/doNgNq
If you never used a ninja, you will see how tasty your stew will be once you finish cooking it. It’s worth a try. I use my ninja all the time for making stews and my famous chicken noodle soup try it you’ll like it!
I only have a low and high temperature option for slow cook on my Ninja Foodi. Do you know how long would it take to make this beef stew on low?
@Alina M, in the past when I used a slow cooker I would use the low setting when I wanted the food to cook for 6-8 hours. If you sear the beef in advance it is already partially cooked so the low setting for 5-6 hours may be long enough. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching I appreciate your support 😊👍
@@YourEverydayJoe Thank you for your response! 👍
You didn't slow cook it
where was the slow cooking??
What’s the point of using the Ninja? You just cooked it like in a pan????
It allows you to sear, sauté and cook all in one pot.
U don’t have to watch the stove and can leave it and do ur business.
Not everyone feels safe with a fire turned on for 8 hours
Why not pressure cook it?
I feel like pressure cooker makes it powdery. Meat becomes funny tasting.
@@Funntimer I nailed it!-First time ,ever, making Dumplings, and they all came out fluffy and light! Fortunately I had enough instinct to not pressure cook, and simply cooked for 3hrs, in a deep open-tray. Everything came out amazing!
Why the chicken broth with beef?
Thanks for the question. Whenever I make a beef type of stew I add chicken broth to add flavor. The chicken and beef compliment each other. Sometimes I add bone broth to help thicken it. Hope this helps. Thanks😎👍
@@YourEverydayJoe sounds good! I will have to try that next time.
Olive oil for me is more of a dressing for salads, I use veggy oil.
Always olive oil for me.
veggi oil is never good for anything
Far too long....😮
Me....done in 30 mins...with dumplings 😅
Dude I did the accent. I was raised in Jersey and people think it's funny when I say "ga'head" instead of go ahead 🤣😂. Woke up today thinking of cooking me up some beef stew in my foodi and your video was the first one that popped up and I'm sticking to your recipe. Good, easy and efficient content 👍🏼
Thanks!
