youre not crazy. the s2 design straps are ruined. like i LITERALLY rock my axiom18 still in between just due to this. the way the straps were inserted on their previous packs were SSOOOOOOOOOOOO much better. literally almost to the point of just opting for the 24 or 18version. im so glad that all their other packs are still using the old way, so only the s2 is ruined, not the whole company😅. i debate selling my canvas and ultra versions due to this, you would think i would never look at my dusty vx21 version axiom18 with these bags, but nope, i often go back to it just due to the comfort of the bag. its sad, but what can we do.
@@PanaMaJwaaRd while I’ve always wanted an axiom 24,I’ve never pulled the trigger on one. So I can’t compare to any other TAD packs (yet. I’ll be using a scout starting tomorrow). I wouldn’t say the harness was uncomfortable, but noticeably wide. But with a little adjustment I found it to be comfortable on me. Here’s a big BUT… I am pretty broad chested. So a wider harness dialed in works well for me. I. Am see it not working so well on those who didn’t inherit board chestednesss from their grandfather.
I also can get it to feel comfortable, also broad so maybe thats a thing. I dont want others to take away that its "uncomfortable". Its not. It does feel wide and at times feels like it wants to start sloping down side of shoulder *** that wide of a feeling**, but its comfortable. I just swapped into my ultra one and the weight savings helped a ton. Then i put from my ultra into vx21 axiom 18, and again, more weight shaved off + how the straps are inserted, its like aa..... "Ahhhhhhg" feeling. A relief. The straps are inserted better and narrower. Such lightweight bag plus it just sitting right in that crevace where you want it. If you havent tried an 18 or 24 i highly recommend it, you get crazy weight savings + comfort with mostly same feature package. Also, the scout has a staight strap to it, its not a big deal because you cant load it heavy enough to notice it, but the litespeed and edc curved straps are "chef kiss". I love using my scout and litespeed as well though, both equally. At this point i have the canvas and ultra as collecting lol. But spectre22, axis duffle(easily beat duffle out, sad not in stock forever), meridian for travel, all their gear is comfortable and lightweight and weather sealing. Everything up until the s2 is just perfection from tad. @@jeffgrantMEDIA
@@PanaMaJwaaRd I chefs kiss….. now I REALLY need to try a litespeed! Thats actually the bag I requested and they were going to send. But were sold out before they could process the order. Hence my mystery TAD unboxing video.
Hello Jeff! Is the bag height 19.75 inches as listed in the website? I have the v2 VX version which is 19 inches, so im wondering if the WX version is indeed taller!
It's about par for the course for a bag of this quality. It is USA made from premium materials, and quilting craftsmanship. Sure a bit of that TAD name goes into the price tag, but a solid Heritage/ waxed canvas bag will be in this price range.
Great review and I missed the old TRIPLE AUGHT DESIGN'S BAGS.
And the only backpack I have is the FAST PACK LITE SPEED 1st generation😊
@@antoniobotello1903 that’s a pack I need to try out!
Looks like a minimalist daily backpack done right.
@@FlymanMS done right and made to last forever!
