Also my headcanon for why Lucifer showed up at the end: Because for most of the time , Adam and the exorcists were attacking sinners, Lucifer couldn't butt in into the situation, because that was heaven's orders, but when Adam went directly for Charlie, his daughter, and a hellborn, he had every right to protect her, because that wasn't part of the Sera's deal.
I read a theory that when Dazzle died, that was the sacrificial lamb that Lucifer needs to help someone, which I love
I personally think it was more psychological. Charlie NEEDED this proof that she can handle being a leader in the worst of times, which she got by leading them into war. Lucifer stood back to let her handle this, only stepping in when she REALLY needed him
There's also the possibility that when Adam's face display glitched while threatening Charlie it was precisely because that was some warning for the pact with Lucifer being cancelled, and exactly one second later Short King makes the perfect entrance XD

To "clip someone's wings" is a common turn of phrase meaning "to limit someone." When Alastor says "unclip my wings," he means "lose my limitations," not that he used to be an angel.
He wants to end the deal he made. No one knows who but most assume Lilith so that Al can keep an eye on Charlie.
Val is probably having a mental crisis watching Adam get killed by Niffty. _Flashbacks to the club where he tried to recruit her, and she proceeded to pull out part of his neck fluff_ .

For the Vees thing it’s important to keep in mind that extermination’s are a pretty mundane thing for them. They’re fully capable of sitting it out in safety and comfort while laughing at the people getting caught up in it.
And more to the point, the Vees are ridiculously arrogant. The idea that they can be threatened just flat-out doesn't really occur to them.
Also, Velvet's plan during the meeting was more to goad the other overlords into fighting back so they'd lose more in the extermination that the Vee's could take over. The fact that Alastor and the Hotel fought back was seen as a win by them even though Alastor's faction WON and the only overlord to suffer any real loses out of it would be Rosie losing a sizable amount of cannibals.

Sir Pentious went from the comic relief character to an absolute Chad in the span of 8 episodes. He kissed his crush, attempted to kill the first man on Earth, and sacrificed himself to save his friends, only to get clapped and get redeemed into Hevean. We will all definitely remember it for a long time. He was a real one! Oh, and remember when Niffty said he is not a bad boy? What a hell of foreshadowing.

To be fair, even if huskerdust does become romantic, Angel still has platonic relationships with the rest of the hotel. He's developed a sibling-like relationship with Charlie and maybe even Vaggie. He already had Cherri as a best friend and we saw how he looked after Nifty at the club. So he definitely won't be without a platonic support system either way.
and if it does become intimate, it would be good for him to have a healthy one instead of the toxic one he has no choice in with Val
On the note with Vaggie, she and Angel could actually bond over quite a lot. They're both homosexuals that were sexually exploited by their masters. I think about the line Vaggie says in "Whatever it Takes" where she says "And it felt so good to be understood," but it was never elaborated on what Charlie seemed to understand in her. I theorize it's her sexuality, and that possibly Adam couldn't comprehend that Vaggie wouldn't be attracted to him.

If you notice, Pentious didn't appear at the gates like any other innocent soul would, he appeared in Sera's office. Almost as if someone put him there in order to prove that souls can be redeemed. Or perhaps so no one else would see him
My guess is that the gates are for "regular" dead people that are supposed to go to Heaven (with St Peter's book and whatnot) but since Big Chad Pentious is a redeemed soul, he can't really cross them... I imagine St Peter being like "AH HELL NAW" and teleporting Pentious directly to Sera 😂

God really just sent Sir Pentious there just to spite Sera.
The only character that had a complete character arc this season was Sir Pentious. He started off as a joke villain, was hired as a spy, was shown forgiveness and welcomed in after being outed, became friends with everyone, and at the end willingly sacrificed himself for them. His entire death and resurrection in Heaven proved to Sera that sinners can be redeemed.
Neat little detail I noticed. In Welcome to Heaven, Adam refers to Charlie as 'Lilith's little hottie' but in The Show Must Go On, he refers to her as 'Lucifer's brat'. He's still obsessed with Lilith after tens of thousands of years XD

The exorcists aren’t scared of dying, that was the whole point, they didn’t know they could die, that’s why the dead exorcist was such a big deal. Since they don’t fear death they don’t even try to defend themselves, wear armour, etc.
I’ve seen some fanfics/fan theories that mention how the exorcists are an organization of hunters/killers, while there’s also an actual angelic army.
The army would be actual warriors/soldiers led by the Archangel Michael, and they would probably wear actual armor

Vaggie wings coming back also supports this idea. And with Adam likely keeping this hush hush I think they might not have realized the implications involved

Demon Charlie is unbelievably badass and I love her. Good on Sir Pentious for being the first redeemed soul in heaven. The More than anything reprise is genuinely adorable

Though I do feel a bit conflicted on how they decided to kill him off so soon, Adam dying to the literal walking punchline is easily my favorite part of the series so far.
I've seen theories that Adam will return as a sinner in hell, mirroring Sir Pentious getting redeemed. I don't know how likely that is but I'd sure love to see Adam as a demon in hell

"What else are they supposed to do?" Run away and hide - as the sinners have done for centuries.. Also keep in mind: The Vs knew exterminators could be killed since they found the body - but they don't know Charlie and the other were told how by Camilla.
Also they didn't knew Carmilla killed the angel in first place , Velvet read her body language sure but Velvet is arrogant , in the same meeting she told everyone the Vs have a full assault plan for the angels ... and here they are chilling at the TV.
One thing I've seen someone point out before that I absolutely love is how poetic it is in a way that the first soul to succeed at redemption and ascend from Hell to Heaven is a snake, considering that the one who originally doomed humanity and fell from Heaven down to Hell was also a snake (Lucifer)
According to the creator, we will get the best of both worlds for Husk and Angel!
They do get together eventually, but it is very SLOW BURN. Like enemies-to-friends-to-close-friends-to-best-friends-to-inseparable-to-lovers.. or something like that, I assume. Angel will get that nonphysical friendship, and I'm theorizing he will realize he actually loves Husk NONsexually and that's how it starts?
I hope Angel is the one who is in control in that situation, he deserves to find TRUE love and pursue it himself.
I thought it was pretty clear that higher up overlords just hunker down in safe, secure bunkers where the exorcists can't get them. It wouldn't make much sense for the main big overlords of hell to keel over and let the angels kill them.
Huskerdusk (angel and husk) is cannon, but its confirmed to be a very slow burn, so for a while, husk will be a good supportive character to him.
Also, I kind of feel like husk would let angel heal before moving into a deep relationship like that.
A reason i think charlie got defeated by adam quickly when she was fighting alone is because she has barely fought or even trained so she was not at her full power because i believe she has more power then what we have seen she just has not unlocked it yet
She did no-sell Adam's attempted sucker-punch of Lucifer with one hand. Considering how pissed he was at the time and how surprised he was at that happening, you can bet he'd put some real power behind it. She's most likely the second-most powerful person in the show in terms of raw strength.
But, of course, this is the same girl who was apologizing for defending herself, _to_ the people trying to kill her. Violence just isn't in her nature.
I always love seeing the horrifying look on Sera’s face after seeing Pentious coming up.

The fact that this show delivered is just...so wonderful. Like, it took 5 years for this show to come out. That's a long time to build hype and expectation. The fact that we got phenomenal plot, animation, characters, themes, music, AND action? It's a blessing, really.
Lucifer is by far my favorite character so far, I hope we see more of him in season two

"What's (Adam)'s deal?" Dude had not just one wife cheat on him with Lucifer, but two kind of by Eve eating the apple as well and cursing him and her to be cast from paradise. Which is also why he surrounds himself with subservient women, dude never got over that. Which is why Lucifer was poking that open wound during the fight.

Given the sepia tone of the photo, it's likely it was taken by a much older camera. Maybe it's just that he doesn't allow himself to be captured on more modern technology?

In that photo you can see Vox in the ripped out part, they where posing together like friends.

Regarding Huskerdust, we have it on pretty good authority that they will, at some point, get together. However, I think what's being established here is a genuine fondness and care that goes beyond the physical. I agree that Angel needs good relationships. I don't think they necessarily have to stay platonic so long as they aren't based in physicality (which is not to say that they can't /have/ physical relations, but the foundation should be on love and care, which, I believe, is what we're getting here).
Something to explain angelic weapons:
Wounds from normal weapons affect mostly body.
What you see is body that formed around the soul.
These wounds can heal with time or if psychological trauma is overcome, as we see with Vaggie.
However damage from angelic weapons is permanent and cant heal, as we see with Vaggie not getting her eye back.
We do know any soul can come back from being destroyed if its not with Angelic weapons from Episode 2.
Where Velvet says "Valentino tore up my model, and you know it will take that unlucky biatch to pull herself together" while in background we can see her model looking like she fell into a woodchipper.
When it comes to the relationship between Angel and Husk, Vivian said it would be very slow burn; giving Angel and Husk time to grow individually before getting into a relationship (if they have time).

In case you wondered why Lucifer wasn't fighting from the start its likely that he made a deal with Adam/heaven that he would not interfeere with extermination AS LONG AS they don't harm the Hellborn ( aka Charlie + her dragons )
So the V's knew about angels being capable of dying but they didn't know how they could be killed. Nor that Alastor or the rest of the hotel knew for that matter. That's why Vox was all excited because he thought Alastor was on a suicide mission
9:50 - No the Angels aren't really scared of dying.
The plot from Ep1 is that for the first time ever an Angel has been killed and now the Exorcists want revenge.
In Ep7(?) Vaggie meets with Carmilla and Carmilla tells her that Angels fight with no fear of being hurt so they are all offensive and no defensive.
So unless Adam told them that an Exorcist was killed the others would most likely not know.
I'm hoping season 2 features a lot of Charlie and Lucifer scenes where he teaches her how to use her powers. Also scenes where the others at the hotel teach her how to street fight because I think that would be hilarious
Husk makes a reference to Alastor being on a leash in a previous episode, " constraints of my deal surely have a backdoor " people think he has some sorta deal and thats why he's a the hotel to begin with and that maybe he he can't use all his power because of said deal. and well the unclip my wings bit is just a phrase as in " to escape my cage " sorta way.
Yeah. On the list of things Alastor might possibly be, "secret angel" seems ***REALLY*** low on the list.

Things I love/think about a lot from this episode.
Nifty. Just every scene with Nifty.
The callbacks to previous songs. Example: The beginning of The show must go on, where Lucifer is trying to inspire Charlie again, is right from the beginning of Happy Day in Hell, when Charlie is saying how she'll change things. He tells her that she Has.
The glitching of Adam and Lute's masks happens when they talk about Charlie dying. Charlie being a Hellborn and not a Sinner, thus breaking their deal with Lucifer that no Hellborns would be hurt during the extermination, and why Lucifer wasn't able to help until that deal was broken. But once it is, HE'S THERE THAT SECOND.
Speaking of Lucifer. His decimation of Adam. I could watch that all day. I only wish the fight was longer so he could destroy him some more.
And finally, both Alastor and Lilith's respective deals. I NEED TO KNOW. Something to ponder though, the both of them disappeared 7 years prior to the show's start. So maybe a connection? I can't wait for the next season to find out!

Vox was only really rooting against the hotel purely because of his hatred towards Alastor
Now to go through every episode of Helluva Boss! (Or the ones you haven't done yet, haha!)
Also, fun fact, Blake Roman voice both Angel Dust *and* the Egg Bois, so he basically saved himself!
The Vees know that extermination is for everyone, but simply they dont care, they can stay safe in their tower and watch others overlords (and Alastor) lose power
The Vees' whole plot was very subtle and sneaky - they never planned to have any involvement fighting against this extermination. If Velvette had managed to convince the Overlords at that meeting to fight back, then win or lose they'd take losses, and the Vees wouldn't. As it happened, where the angels were confirmed vulnerable and the Overlords didn't fight, the Vees have a very concrete record of them telling the other Overlords it was possible, which will damage the Overlords' power base and win a lot more moral support for the Vees. The only risk they actually faced was if the other Overlords killed Velvette when she sassed them, but it was a calculated risk. It's a very chickenshit plot, but I have to applaud its effectiveness.
Sir Pentious got Zapped just like that.
This episode really does a damn good job at establishing just how much of a threat Adam is. Sure his fighting style is sloppy and undisciplined but he has so much raw power that it really doesn't matter HOW he fights, he can brute force through anything and anyone. It helps that demons have a natural disadvantage against angels but still.

13:45 So, this death scene. This is a visual representation of this show's biggest problem: Pacing. Everything happens way too fast, it doesn't give us the viewers proper time to absorb what just happened before something else starts happening and nowhere is this more apparent than here.

One the one hand you were right to guess that Vox and the other Vees didn't know that Adam and the Exorcists planned to go after everyone else in Hell after finishing with the Hotel, but also on the other hand the reason why Vox has been so excited and laughing about how they're gonna die while watching everyone at the Hotel prepare to battle is because he was specifically excited to watch Alastor try to fight the Exorcists, knowing that he would definitely die for good if he messed up (hence why he grew all the more and more excited once Alastor went up against Adam and when Adam actually landed a hit on him and why he got annoyed and no longer made any commentary after Alastor fled)
Also concerning your question about Alastor's staff: It's an extension of himself and as far as we know holds quite a bit of his power, so while breaking it didn't release his hold over the souls he owns it did weaken him a great bit (notice him losing his radio filter for a moment after it broke for example)

There’s also the fact that it’s Charlie, who does not want to harm anyone if it’s at all possible to avoid it. To kill anyone in cold blood, even an enemy, would be against her essential nature and everything she’s trying to prove.
From a purely tactical standpoint, yes it’s stupid. But Charlie knows the long game is what matters. If she’s going to stand against Heaven, she has to prove she’s better than they are. She has to show mercy, when Heaven would not.

It's basically the worst thing I have to say about the whole series, "it's quite annoying that every youtuber jumps on the wings = ANGEL thing instead of focusing on the way more interesting implications of Alastor being either way more powerful or being really forced to act how he's been doing".

Only part way through but:
Any wounds caused by angelic weapons are permanent. If it's non-fatal it will leave scars like Vaggie's X, and if it's fatal, then it will remain fatal forever.
Wounds caused by random things will always heal. (Though slowly and painfully). Even if there's nothing left to start healing, the soul will remanifest similar to how they showed up originially.

The season moved very fast, but viv and her team made the absolute best out of the 8 episodes they were given by amazon. You can see some discarded concepts in some of the songs, especially the finale: Why are the Vs talking about a powergrab, if the only one who "died" was alastor, who was gone for seven years and has no territory but the hotel atm? this illudes to a way bigger extermination event that they couldnt do because of run time. Hope amazon gives them all the episodes they need for the 2nd season, after all it was the most watched amazon show of all time for a while.
Yeah a lot of people commented on how fast paced the show is. You’re not alone on that. I’m thinking it was a budget problem which they hopefully won’t have a problem with next time.
The first season was supposed to be 16 episodes, but Amazon would only pay for eight. Considering the constraints, they did an amazing job!

Pentious went into that knowing he would die. He hoped he could damage Adam, but he knew he wasnt coming back. And in the end I believe that it what saved his soul. He was willing to die for others knowing he wouldnt be coming back.

Also the deal between Lucifer and the Exterminators was that they could do whatever so long as no Hellborns were harmed, so as soon as Adam laid hands on Charlie, he broke their contract so Lucifer could officially fight.

I believe the form we saw Charlie transform into wasn’t her full demon form, it would be especially badass if she had wings. Before the show was picked up by Amazon Vivzie said in a livestream that Charlie could manifest wings, but after it was picked up by Amazon a lot of the lore changed, so that might not hold true anymore. Still, it would be badass if that was something we saw in future seasons.

Also just wanted to throw this out there: In most songs in the series, Charlie usually takes the melody line because obviously she’s the MC and a lot of them are her pitching the hotel or something like that. BUT In the More Than Anything reprise, during which she is at her low point and needs comfort from Vaggie, she instead lets Vaggie take the lead in the song and takes a higher harmony line when she does come in.
