A couple of thoughts that came to me watching this for people making their own jacks. A hollow punch or step drill bit will make easier/rounder holes in thin sheet metal. I currently have a sheet metal cut on my finger from installing ceiling mounted light cans and the thin sheet metal sliced me without feeling it. I had cut resistant gloves on right before, but I took them off to color code some wires with tape. Wear gloves with sheet metal. Another thought is if you can find it get wider Velcro that you can wrap around the edges so not only do you have a left/right window jack, but the sheet metal edges are fully enclosed.
Hey Joe, I used a Silicone Grilling Sheet & Metal Tape around the edges of the stove pipe hole, Works Fantastic ! Ur Idea is Absolutely Ingenious also. Take Care B Safe Canada
Awesome, thanks for showing us how! The only thing better than having Donnies jack in my shack will be a copy of his cook book 😉 Ill pay extra for the signed copy!
Thanks for the video looks like it would work great! Cant wait untill you get out on the ice with the new gear. We are heading to moosehead for 3 days in a couple weekends. And i have been studying all your moosehead videos. Thanks for all the info you give.
Haha I just made one for my ice fishing shelter yesterday from your previous video with the old timer for my wood stove. This video is going to do well.
Just got back from a 3 night camping trip and it’s basically identical to how you did yours lol Work great held up the pipe on its own didn’t have to support the pipe coming out of the tent, but man does it get hot in the tent with the wood stove 😂😂😂
I used a 500 degree silicone baking sheet instead of tin but yes this is a good idea either way the best way, had velcro sewn on my silicone stove jack as glue doesn't stick to it.
HI Joe how much wood per day you burn?? i want to go camping ice fish for a week, so i want to know as to bring what i will need. what would it do if i was to run a bubbly heater at night would it help after wood burns out? thank you for your help

Can’t wait!!!! Looks similar to what I made for my diesel heater last year!!
Very cool
I look forward to seeing the new stove in action.
Me too I’m currently using it now on a trip
How is it doing on propane? I read someone saying they burned through 100lbs in a 3 day trip here in Minnesota.
Looking forward to it. Just picked up an Otter Vortex Pro Resort and plan on installing a wood stove for overnights!
Awesome you can definitely use this window jack system
Great idea!
Thanks
Great video Joe, thank you!
Thanks buddy
Thank you sir
Welcome

Mine had no problem with the sticky back Velcro all year last year
Nice your window comes out
very easy
Awesome!
Thanks bud
I don't have a hub, but I'm going to keep this idea if I ever do. Are you making a stair railing with the wood next to the belt grinder?
Exactly yes
Joe that's a great work shop you in , what's the story with so many axes?
Thanks it’s a hobby of mine
Another great video!! In the beginning you said yours is not for woodstove. What are you using it for?
Vented propane
Great educational video. What make is that belt grinder? I'm looking for a knife making grinder.
It’s a Pheer I highly recommend
Thoughts on a diesel heater? I'm looking to use one as my heat source next winter.
I still haven't tried one but am planning to this winter.
It looks like you need one more AX. What do you do with all of them?
I restore them , carve handles and use them
Do you have any dilemma which axe to use in the woods?
Yes but one usually speaks to me!
HI Joe how much wood per day you burn?? i want to go camping ice fish for a week, so i want to know as to bring what i will need. what would it do if i was to run a bubbly heater at night would it help after wood burns out? thank you for your help
Tough call it depends on temperature and type of wood but about an armful or two a day
Nice ! What are you using for your heater ?
Trying a new vented propane one this year
Hello! How’s the ice been, a little tricky this year in a lot of places. Can I borrow an axe, do you have a spare by chance? 😊
I wish I had an extra
What’s with all the axes? I just recently found your channel
Thanks I collect and restore them and use them
Would you happen to know the dimensions for that piece you cut out of the tin? For the 850XD Thanks!
Bedt way is trace a window they are removable
It's better to use aluminum over tin like that because aluminum dissipates heat better.
Thanks, Makes sense, This one never got warm.
How many axes in your collection?
I’m not sure
Don't forget to grab your favorite hammer and smash that like button. 😂
Haha truth
Why couldn’t you just make that outta plexiglass
How does plexi do with heat ?
