    • @SquirrelASMR
      @SquirrelASMR 3 роки тому +14

      @@thend4427 I'm guessing you did hear about the recent CNN leak. Watch it, unless you're afraid of being wrong... and saying Fox is fake doesn't make CNN any less fake, you idiot. Is that a defense? Both of those networks aren't news, they're gossip entertainment networks that use dirty tricks to glue you to the screen. Watch Charlie Chester filmed on hidden camera admitting to the messed up stuff they do at CNN to get views. They cheer for COVID death tolls to go up and hide them if they arent increasing fast enough. He admitted he was researching for white hate on asians, but all he could find was black people assaulting asians and it made him mad because he was trying to help BLM, but they are being unhelpable. He admitted he is selling propaganda and fear... that propaganda and fear CNN sells has caused black people to panic near police and get killed, it has caused liberal protesters to end up in jail or get their arm blown off by Kyle. CNN isnt helping anybody, and most of all they a hurting their own viewers by putting them in a constant state of fear, which is destroying their mental health. Some people go crazy and kill over one popular person tweeting, like when they tried impeaching Trump because peaceful protest was code for break into contgess and kill AOC? But imaging people that have been watching fake media for a decade, how distorted their view on the world must be. CNN admits they will only show clips of Biden jogging and wearing aviators to sell the cool geriatric look. They say they are the reason he got through his first term. If you dont think any of that is evidence of fake malicious news, I suggest you check out the hidden camera footage of Charlie Chester. Democracy isnt supposed to be powerful entities brainwashing people so they vote and act the way they want them to.

    The image shown at 1 minute 30 seconds was shows my grandmother’s school at the time of the Halifax Explosion. She was 5 at the time, walking to school with her 7 year old sister. My grandmother survived the explosion without a scratch while her sister walking next to her was killed instantly. For anyone familiar with Halifax, Nova Scotia that photo was taken at the corner of Kaye and Gottingen Streets. The light colored building in the foreground (St Joseph’s convent) was about 750 meters from the explosion, at about the edge of what was referred to as the area of “total devastation”. Note that the walls have blown outwards. At this distance from the explosion there was an extreme pressure drop caused by the blast and the air trapped inside the building pushed the walls outwards. The darker building in the background was St Joseph’s School. My grandmothers oldest sister (10 years old) was trapped upstairs and suffered broken bones when she jumped from the second floor window to the ground. I grew up hearing the story from my grandmother many times… and it was hard to imagine that experience… but the video clips of the explosion in Beirut gave a visual of what it must have been like. Halifax recovered and over time the scars healed and faded… my hopes are that Beirut shall likewise recover. Thanks for posting the video Anton. It’s a very informative recap of a disaster very similar to what was experienced in Nova Scotia over 100 years ago.

      At the start at the video he was talking quicker than he normally does (which for a 2nd language is pretty fast). I was in Beirut over the fall and winter of 82-83, and had inspected the hotel building we Marines used for a barracks, that was bombed, a year later. Beirut, and Lebanon in large, have had a long tragic history in the past decades. I truly enjoyed my time there, the people were great, welcoming, and it was a pleasure to serve them. So you don't want a government to be too small and you don't want a government to be too big. It's hard to define the just right level but it appears to be somewhere around 20 to 30% of GDP.
      Below there, you start seeing lawlessness and loss of national productivity because basic services aren't done and you don't get the multiplying effect.
      Above their the government starts to starve out Private Industry and to smother Private Industry. And since it's so powerful, the same Bad actors put their effort into taking over the government. Because it's much easier to take over an existing powerful organization then to build one from scratch.

    The more we learn from this disaster - the less chance of another one like it occurring in the future.

      Common sense says to not store tons of explosives in one location near a city for years on end

      There's really nothing to learn here, except that if one stores large quantities of explosives carelessly, this kind of thing happens. Anyone involved with the least competence in the various government organizations involved already knew this. The fact is the either just didn't care, or really wanted to try to hang on to the explosives, for some reason.

    I'm curious about the crew of the ship. Did they get home? Or do they just live Beirut now because they have no way to get home?
