    Great video! I got the same tank, started few months ago, trying to grow the gsplike you have, but it growing super slow! On top, I have cyanobacteria growing all over my sand, did water changes but scker won't leave my tank!

      Try chemi clean for cyano but careful of instructions. Just takes time for the GSP! You will get there!

    Great video! Nice to know there is growth with just the stock lights, I have the Marine 3.0 for the saltwater version and planning to add a second one. Does the GSP grow downwards as well? I glued mine somewhere on the center part of the back.

    • @AquaristExhibit

      It grows very little downward.. but it still will a bit.

      So should the gsp be started along the substrate line on the back wall in order to get full coverage of the wall? I was thinking of putting mine in the center as well under the assumption they would grow up and down.

    Just purchased the same pump you upgraded too. wondering what fittings you got to make the factory nozzle work?

    • @AquaristExhibit
      @AquaristExhibit  2 роки тому

      I’m sorry but this was a few tanks ago. If my memory serves me, the pump comes with a couple of different sized adapters, I just downsized until I was able to fit on the stock nozzle.

      Hey thanks! I appreciate it! I dose alkalinity, and do 5G wc’s every week or so. 👍

    About how much would a tank like this cost?

    • @AquaristExhibit
      @AquaristExhibit  3 роки тому +2

      Hey thanks for the question! This tank was built on a budget for around $700 CAD not including coral and fish. It’s a freshwater setup.

    I cant keep the hair algae away. As soon as I kill it it and my corals start growing it comes back

    • @AquaristExhibit
      @AquaristExhibit  3 роки тому +2

      Hey Cathy, when you have algae issues, it is almost always based on an abundance of nutrients in the tank. So you should do some research on Nutrient Removal for a reef tank.

    • @AquaristExhibit
      @AquaristExhibit  3 роки тому

      @@un69perron you won’t burn your corals, these lights aren’t really that strong, so just start off the second light with a shorter photo period and slowly acclimate the corals to the additional light. Won’t have any issues!

      @@un69perron I do recommend check out all of my videos, as many of the questions you are asking are answered in detail. I believe a skimmer is always a good idea, for nitrate removal as well as aiding in bringing oxygen back into the water.

      @@un69perron I think it’s all about your filtration and the type of fish. Do the research if the fish can cohabitate and ensure your filtration can handle the bio load.

      It just takes trimming around the vents and return nozzle. Doesn’t take long.
