- This event is all about having fun in older cars.
Some of the cars you see here have been rescued and revived to a 'standard' that allows them to compete on terrain like this.
Others are road registered and used for other rallies and drives.
There are various classes. These include the small car "special". these are for the small wheelbase cars that have been specifically built for trial events like this.
There is also the same for larger, long wheelbase, cars and then there are two other classes for long and short wheel base, but road legal.
this video is totally unedited. I was not one site for all the events, so apologies for this.
this is a long film so if you are a competitor, you'll know the order you were running in.

How nice to find this video of trialling in NZ. I'd heard it was popular there. I did Classic Trialling for many years as the 'bouncer'. 1st in a Dellow and then in a Troll. Of all the types of motorsport I've done, trialling was the one I enjoyed the most. Our "Observed Sections" are marked 12 to 0, so the lowest score at the end of the day is the winner.
@@peterbonnez thanks for the comment. The ground was a little too dry which meant there were too many finishing each course, but still a fun day out. Our scoring works on the highest score wins, but similar in all other ways.
@@Buick29 Yes, I noticed that it was dry. Our trials run in the winter, September to April. This is our Troll being repainted. It was the 2nd car built by a jeweller in Minehead. He built around 20 of them. Ford 1600 engine with Webers. Ford 'box and rear end. They're very successful, our car won the Championship a couple of times.
